  • My son Sean died from his ADD medicine Ritalin or Methylphenidate after 10 years of use. He was a 3.85 GPA college student. He began abusing and it got out of control. He would take 32 pills in one day. We sent him to rehab in Houston at Memorial Herman PaRC. They kicked him out after he made it thru 10 days of detox and 12 days of in patient. Sean was not buying in to his addiction so the kicked him out. 7 days later he died. Sean overdosed in the back of his car waiting for the House to open.

  • I have ADD and I love it! At work, I am aware of everything that is going on and constantly get compliments from the customers. Today, one of them went to the manager and told them how grateful they are that I am there because I pay attention to everything!!!! Of course, I do not have the H in ADHD. I just have ADD.

  • The meicalizing of everyday life. If there is an undesireable behavior, there is also its respective therapeutic modality. We have come to live in a therapeutic age, where so many individuals have come to be cared for. There isn't a person who does know of someone seeking out some therapeutic treatment or other. Indeed, our age worships health, and the physician, the shrink, and the lesser therapists are its clergy.

  • In other words , you'r on your own *_*

  • Possible accomodations at work: Tape recordings of meetings, have instructions provided in WRITING, have regular meetings with boss to help with managing priorities, get permission to use "white noise" or headphones to reduce distracting noises. ask for placement in a quieter/less busy place, use checklists and reminder notes, etc.
