Hi there, great video, thanks so much. Have you ever seen someone do a K1 but problems came up and no marriage was done, then the couple getting back together to do a CR1 visa instead? Do you have any thoughts about that?
Hi..my boyfriend and I met April 13 2011 and got engaged in the same date. He stayed here in the Phil. for two weeks and now he's back in the US. We are planning to get married next year December 2012 here in the Philippines. What Visa should he apply? Fiance or Spouse Visa? And if it is Spouse Visa, how long it will take before he can bring me to US?He's kinda confused about it. We will appreciate if u can give us an advice of whats the right thing to do.
Thanks, I am thinking my first visit will be in march 2011 for two weeks...I am thinking return in July and do a civil marriage in Davao...after that apply for a CR1....Return in December or maybe early 2012 and have a formal wedding in Davao with all her friends and family...then it should be close to the time for her interview so then she could return shortly with me. Does this plan sound workable?
To marry legally, then apply is the way to go. So if you marry in July, then apply for spousal visa
in August, you can expect on average for the visa to be granted 7 to 9 months later. Having a formal wedding in addition to a civil wedding does not affect the visa timeline.
Hi, I want to get married in Phil in December 2011...In March we will meet for two weeks and meet her family. then I am planning a second visit in the summer. We are planning our wedding for December...After we are together can I apply for a fiancee visa and then get married in Phil in December...if the fiancee visa is approved after our marriage can she still use that to enter the usa or would we need to apply for a K3 or CR1 after marriage
If you marry outside the USA, you can not use a Fiancee Visa. Your current plan puts you in the Philippines in December 2011. This means you can apply for a spousal visa, after you marry, and about 9 months later she can enter the USA. A faster way would be to, get engaged during your trip in the summer, and immediately apply for a Fiancee Visa. Then after about 9 months, she enters the USA, and you marry here.
I would like to file a for a fiancé visa. I met him face to face just this past summer, but I don't have pictures with him. All I have are phone records. My family is conservative and have kept contact limited until things are official between us. Is this enough to demonstrate a genuine relationship?
No photos is not good. Try to find people who immigration might believe have no reason to lie, and ask them to write affidavits to attest you met your fiance. Immigration looks at the "whole" picture. Correspondences, photos, affidavits, longevity of relationship, etc. If your fiance;s country is viewed as "hi risk for fraud", the burden of proof to demonstrate your genuine relationship is greater. Call me 1-800-806-3210 x 702 once I know the whole situation I can give you an opinion.
hi i got a question im a us citizen whts easier i wanna get married to my girlfrend in colombia and bring her to the us wht do i gotta do is it easlier to married her down in colombia and come back and file for her how long will it take !!!
Both Fiancee and Spousal processes are basically similar and take about the same length of time. You should get married in Colombia or USA depending on what makes the two of you most happy. Remember, married or not, you still need to prove your courtship and relationship is bone fide. Call me directly at 1-800-806-3210 x 702 as it is much more effective to discuss a complex situation directly on the phone.
If the father (or mother) is a US citizen, the child is considered a US citizen, so you do not need to apply for a visa. Instead you apply for his passport. If the child is not biologically related to the US citizen, then providing he is under 21 and unmarried, the child can be included with the fiancee visa. Further questions ask the US citizen to call me 800-806-3210 x 702
wow thank you fred wahl your dicussion here is thorough and updated...very reliable, detailed and practical. Now it had answered all of my questions...I advise viewers especially couples planning to get married...to view this....
FINALLY! Someone answers the questions. When I ask the uscis people about the total time or costs for this visa all I get is useless BS. Like, "well it varies depending on the situation". I have never seen a government program so poorly operated in my life. Thank you for this helpful video.
sound too easy to believe unless you been there and done that than most of that information is just make you feel happy first and sad later on

Yes I have seen couples not get married during their K1 visa, separate, return to home.
then later get married and apply for CR1. Romance can be rocky.

@FianceeVisaServices how long weeks or days when you send the paper to the USCIS?

Sorry, not sure what your question means. If you are asking how long it takes from the time you submit
your Fiancee Petition, until the fiancee has her interview, in most cases, I have seen about 5 to 7 months from start to visa.
