I am so excited about this song finally coming out. From the samples I've heard, and the live version, this deserved to be released a long time ago. Sounds like it might be the most beautiful Nightwish song ever, to be honest.

if we don't get it as a bonustrack, we could still organise some fan-thing though...like collecting messages to Mr Nyman to persuade him and then send them to him, so he will be really overwhelmed and finally say yes...I'm really thinking of a plan because I need need need this song :)

Another possibility would be to kidnap Tuomas, take him to Disney Land and give him all the things he loves until he releases the song :D

The main melody of The Piano is really beautiful, though, the whole soundtrack appears somehow boring to me while listening. I'm bit of a soundtrack freak, and this is only one of my less favourites among all the good ones...

Nightwish mainman has a great sense for musical arrrangements.

Whoa - I never realised, but this is The Islander, right? So Heart Asks Pleasure First, although they're going to be releasing a cover of it... they've actually already sort of used to fit in with The Islander.... Nightwish = incredible.

I remember reading something in some interview about them finally getting the rights from Nyman to record this song. So I hope what I read wasn't false because I would LOVE to hear their version of such an amazing and beautiful song.

I think a blog would be enough... or a free website-creating service, we used it for our band and one fansite and it seems comfortable and just nice. =) Perhaps we could begin by creating something on Facebook...? There´d be a lot of fans =)

Oh wow... Nightwish is my favorite band, been a fan of The Piano score longer than I've known Nightwish, this is amazing. :) Shame on Nyman for keeping this pleasure from my heart. ;)

@ OpheliaLestrange & jellymonsterimy: unfortunately michael nyman didn't give the permission (=didn't sell the rights or something like that i guess) to cover his song, threatening hard legal fights if they ever release/perform it - perform it fully i think. at least that's what tuomas officially siad in the past. besides he also said that the song "might end up on some filesharing programm"... his words! so who knows! ;)

oh now these are sad news...of course I can understand that nyman doesn't want his precious masterpiece to be spoilt, but he should give Tuomas a chance at least....and anyway I guess if NW made the song more famous he'd have some financial advantage, too...at least I bought the Piano soundtrack and the movie just because I got to know the song through NW...

i agree with you about everything but that's the way it is... sadly. though i must say that that "thin" keyboard sound used by tuomas doesn't make justice to the wonder of the score, in my opinion.

of course we can make a petition, trying doesn't cost a thing but i don't know if it might really help us!

I think the original version perform by michael nyman is much better, its pure guitar introduction, Fucking NIGHTWISH!!! they destroyed the heart asks pleasure first

It's from On a Dark Winter's Night Festival at Austria 2007. Unfortunately Tuomas plays it differently on the Made in Hong Kong CD due to copyright reasons.
