BSS is not about the lyrics. They started out as an instrumental band. That is why so much of the vocals in their songs sound so washed out they are not meant to be in the foreground and not what the music is about. The guitars, drums and various instruments are equal to the vocals unlike so many bands where they just provide background noise for the vocals. The lyrics I am pretty sure are not meant to be 100% coherent they are more for the feeling of the song and the context.

One of my favorite bands is sigur ros, they are icelandish, and in some of their songs they actually dont use any words at all, just the human voice. it's like the human voice is another instrument in the ensemble. i actually like this better, it allows the listener to interpret the music themselves.
