Brilliant. You sound just like Jake. I first heard him do this song on the BBC's Saturday late night show 'Braden's Week' (with Bernard Braden) back in 1968. Jake was a regular on Braden's Week. Your performance gets five stars from me.
Hi there, please don't be fooled by my Youtube Username, that is me singing - no miming.
I have had a few comments saying i "must be miming" - which I take as a big compliment - as My aim was to sound as much like Jake as possible. I've managed to imitate Jake's fingerpicking guitar style now - rather than my strumming on this vid,
Good to hear it again - techy critique: your voice seems in the background,do you need better sound recording nd more frames per second so thatyou don't look like you're miming!!
Echo, guitar down, more voice... and slow it down a little, this feels a tad rushed and thats one thing i always noticed about Jake.... he could fit unfeasibly long words into a line, and never rushed a lyric.
very enjoyable, I think your voice on the rendition of "The Widow of Brid" is possibly nearer to Jake's - but you are doing a service by bringing Jake's music to us.
Really good rendition. I assume you have signed up to the Jake Thackray Project website. If so, have you thought of performing at one of the 'Jakefests'? You should, I reckon.
Excellent. Less reverb on the vocal, and turn the guitar amp down and use your own voice. You need to be a bit more "plummy" in the lower register to get the take off just right and then tackle "On Again, On Again".
Another great effort.could I just suggest something?Drop the reverb on the vocal, your voice is good quality and strong enough and it would help those tricky lyrics come across. Also turn the guitar down a touch.Keep it up.MORE!

Fantastic! You've got a great voice and you cover the song really well -- you don't just try to imitate Jake. And it works! Are there more?????

When I realised that this was a cover I nearly didn't play it. I am really pleased I did though. Your rendition is excellent. Thanks
