my friend steave in ontario feeds the foxes yearly he has chickens in his barn he raises or did years ago close to 1000 of them so daily theres allways a dead one he gives them to the foxes and they seem to not break in and kill his chickens he said like flys and other bugs give them something and they wont have a need to steal

yes, they're related to dogs. not as closely as wolves, but i'm pretty sure they're related to dogs. in that particular environment, they might look like bears because that head shape or something is an evolutionary adaptation.

The eggs contain more energy per gramm than a bird (the egg nourishes the bird embryo). Also an egg wouldnt fight.

These birds have sharp beaks. Even if they wouldnt be able to fight off the fox, they would give him at least small wounds.

In the wild even small wounds can be life-threatening. Wild animals dont have doctors ;)
