  • And get really fat haha nice video gonna use this!!

  • Can this be done in a MICROWAVE? How about a MEDIUMWAVE? A MAJORWAVE?

  • That was cool. I'll have to try it one day. :-)

  • @charanga1 Please do, let me know how you made out. I think I'll try bacon next time! :)

  • Perfect for early morning tailgates!!!

  • @Creelz I totally agree!

  • Repulsive and pathetic. Enjoy your cancer.

  • @pauly1980 FANKS!

  • I only thumbed up because you included a link of your grandma dancing.

  • @arib3th Every thumb counts so thanks!

  • I love the way you talk! nice video :)

  • @ediotu7 Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the video!

  • This is called a TRUCK-DRIVERS omelet... I make these all the time using my propane cooker in the truck... they are GREAT.. best part about it,... is in a truck-stop, its gonna cost you about 8 bucks.. cooking in the truck costs me about 1 buck... Show some more like these.. I need all the tips I can get..

  • @oversize1964 Will do, glad you enjoyed the video!

  • i wonder how it would work with a micrwave steam bag, skip the stove

  • This guy sounds like Steve Brule.

  • Nice! I dont know why someone would get so worked up over an omelette. Whatever way you make it is fine. Im going to try this someday

  • @TiffanyChoable It is pretty funny to see people get really mad and leave a nasty comment. I appreciate them watching the video nonetheless. Let me know how you make out with your omelette.

  • Do you guys think I should make an updated HD version of the video?

  • @weefa yes

  • @babypopXX1 thank, glad you enjoyed the video!

  • Fun video!

  • The perfect way to cut out grease and introduce toxins!

  • @RadiantStudios Lol good one

  • have we become so horrible at cooking that a boiled egg in a plastic bag is now considered the PERFECT omelet? What happened to peoples standards? Last I checked a good omelet was browned in a pan with butter/oil to the point it was done on the bottom but not the top and then folded.

  • @vevoscksballs I guess some people like it in the bag! Thanks for the comment.

  • @vevoscksballs It's much healthier to cook an omlette this way because it has no butter/oil. It's not about being horribe at cooking, it's about cooking healthier.

  • That comes out looking exactly the way airlines' omelets look.

  • Just so people can relax... Ziplock bags are polyethylene; Which is a very hardy plastic. As long as you don't burn it, you won't get any of those potentially nasty hydrocarbons (carbohydrates you don't eat). Boiling water will weaken the bag a bit, but it won't leech strange chemicals into your food. NOTE: I'm not sure what the zippers are made of.. but the simple clear sandwich ziplock bags should be totally fine.

  • *an omelet

  • Gross!

  • PLASTIC CAUSES CANCER

  • @WavesOfTrolls your face causes cancer...

  • @AMellowSandwich your mom does

  • @WavesOfTrolls is that why your username a "Troll" in it?

  • @Chakaspuffdude No worries, no offense taken - I made this video years ago and i appreciate the people that are still watching it. Hopefully you got a laugh! Thanks again.

  • @Chakaspuffdude Thanks for the compliment, much appreciated!

  • Wouldn't it be much quicker and easier just cooking it in a skillet?

  • @kizmetx it would but it's always good to have a plan b! Thanks for watching!

  • Much less time consuming to cook an omelet the more traditional way. But this is a pretty neat alternative.

  • @Mizuneko22 I thought it was neat too

  • i found out about this video because i google searched how to spell omelet

  • @MrMegaMoose lol that is funny, thanks for watching!

  • @MrMegaMoose LOOOL XD

  • I just did this and boy oh boy did it taste good yummy!!

  • @CharmedGirls101 Did you make it differently?

  • omelete for lazy

  • @tusagen ok Triumph i hear ya, lol

  • that shit look nasty bro... thats some jailhouse shit

  • @Bricksta88MoB I should create a video on how to make jailhouse moonshine with apple peels and potatoes - I'm sure the warden would love that!

  • @weefa i remember i did 2 years and my bunkmate made pruno, it was the most horrible thing i have tasted

  • @IrishJimmyB Yea it can be really bad. But on the other hand it's better than eating cardboard. Sorry to hear about your bid. Keep your head up.

  • people use zip lock bags in the microwave and it doesn't seem to promote cancer

  • @NewSchoolMuzik This is true, but can you really trust people these days! Thanks for watching and be safe!

  • polyethelene bag to make an omelet? whats the point when you could make one without one and not end with a plastic bag you have to throw in the bin? that is just a waste.

that is not the perfect omelet. i don't see the point in this.

  • @markmurp Maybe I wanted to waste your time HAHAHA it worked you have fallen for my evil plan! LOL thanks for watching

  • It is truly delicious! Lol

  • looks disgusting, straight up.

  • Just to let you all know Paula Dean does this as well... so...

  • @shannonsamuelc I should give her a call?

  • To those saying this is harmful, Paula Deen did this on tv live and ate it. If you're gonna sue someone, sue her. This is a great method.

  • @galisprayo I need to find Paula doing this. Maybe i can grab a few tips off her!

  • It might work but I wouldn't call that a "perfect" omelet.

  • i love integrating plastics into my food :D

  • @defect530 lol I know it, it really give you that High Fructose Corn syrup taste!

  • in Russia zip-lock makes you!

  • @ASAF13224 Yes comrade , yes

  • Ten minutes for an omelet is too much. Why don't you invest in a non stick pan and make a French omelet that's done in a few minutes? Check out the omelet videos on Youtube which show the stir and shake technique. It's fun and healthier than cooking in a plastic bag. Plastic isn't really meant for cooking. The chemicals will leech into the egg, and over time it messes up your health.

  • @belovedpeartree You are quite right, and very wise

  • that looks absolutely disgusting. now....make one with cheese and peppers in it.

  • @xrupertx that a really good idea Omelet in Bag 2011 Edition now with more peppers and cheese!

  • I've eaten eggs like this before and it just doesn't taste the same.

  • it tastes like shit cause your not adding anything to it try adding ham , salt, cheese, cooked bacon bits, or peppers

  • @enVme731 shut the hell up why dont YOU eat it with all that junk, egg is better plain!

  • @blueboywater I tried it, with salt and pepper and a side of ham, the ham covers it up a lot

  • @enVme731 but plain egg dont taste bad at all and ur not mad at me? lol

  • @blueboywater i honestly don't care. also I'll try it plain. probably tastes like something between scrambled eggs and poached.

  • @enVme731 what's poached?

  • @blueboywater have you ever had eggs benidict? the eggs in them are poched eggs. I have no clue how to make them but it involves you cracking the egg into a container then holding the container into boiling water with the egg in the water while you are still holding it. This causes the egg white to be cooked and the yolk to be runny

  • @enVme731 i dont know what benidict is lol

  • @enVme731 you use a special little metal cylinder that you crack the egg into and then it submerges and cooks the exterior i believe

  • @TheFrenchi23 Yeah, that is one method. Another is to just crack the egg into the water and try to shape it with a spoon. Using something to submerge the egg with would be much easier.

  • @enVme731 i'll try that

  • @TheFrenchi23 Indeed that is a much better way to make an egg

  • @enVme731 lol you guys are too much!

  • Nice video. Except you forgot to mention how we all die a horrible death after we eat it. The plastic ziplock bag being boiled in hot water? The chemicals come out and go into your so called omelet.

  • @clanerp ohhh chemicals what a big word, name a specific one if you can

  • @killsalot78 adipates and phthalates

  • @clanerp it's been a very horrible death - Thank your for alerting the neighbors

  • That's pretty clever! I should try this some time. Couldn't taste much worse than elementary school breakfasts back in the day! X3

  • @JessicaIngmann This is very true, although those french toast sticks were damn good

  • This is a great idea for on those days when you don't want to mess up a pan. Also this would be perfect for camping or hiking type situations, with the alteration of using powdered eggs of course.

There's a whole style of cooking called freezer bag cooking that is like this. Good video, thanks for uploading.

ps don't listen to those morons who are too stupid to see how good an idea this is.

  • @AnnieNM06 Thanks for the support! I don't mind the negative comments. it's only a video! :)

  • There aren't too many chemicals but i bet it tastes like shit

  • thank you

  • On top of that...the time saved because you can make 12 omelets at once (and save them for later) and still have zero dishes is clear, several commenters don't get that.

The taste by the way, is just the same, load it up with cheese, black beans, or spices, there's no difference from the pan you silly people.

  • @ITArsenal lol lots of silly folks around here

  • crazy how many people somehow take personal assault to doing this. it's an awesome idea, and there are ZERO official releases as to the chemicals released or danger in using zip lock pags. Zip lock is just covering their butts so they don't get sued. There's a cooking style called Sous Vide that has been using plastics (albiet ones built for boiling) for years.

  • @ITArsenal i say we join forces and cover the world in plastic!

  • @weefa Nice to see you online here, Cristo!

  • Cool idea, but it really is a dry poached egg. I need some good old-fashioned pan action for my omelette.

  • The way to cook it in a bag, isn't nice to see it, however I must admit that is new and so cool. Don't use oil or butter, mmmm.! You gave me an excellent idea that can work very well to a diet low in calories. I think prove it. Congratulations...!

  • this is an insult to creative cuisine, and is unsafe to eat

  • @Boppaloppagus yes boppaloppagusssaf

  • thats not an omelet thats a fukn prison food

  • @callmejacko some have called it that!

  • lol, "have fun, enjoy, and get really fat"

  • @ryanbridgers everyone seems to like that part

  • thats more like poching it in a bag!

  • @kilkennyfishblue This is true.

  • U should change the title to, "How to get cancer from a ziplock bag" - You better hope noone comes down with something and try to sue you.

  • @KobeSpawn Are you a attorney? is the first consultation free?

  • @KobeSpawn .. hahahaha

  • that looks like a yellow plastic turd, and probably feels the same in your mouth

    ---

    ha that made me laugh

  • god damn you're a fucking retard.

  • God! All of you people who say this tastes good :

Do you even have a tongue?

Have you ever tasted food? Ever? In your life?

And are you people so retarded that you think that cooking eggs without butter makes you healthy?

  • @ponfed They could be, you should be more respectful to people with special needs and channel you anger toward good causes!

  • Pretty interesting...but why? The omelet is extremely overcooked, and it would just take less time to use a pan...

  • @HatlessLemming Yup you got me there

  • jesus christ, ten minutes of cooking? I could make a real omelet in that time, prep and cleaning included. If you seriously can't make a proper omelet, you probably can't boil water either. Or tie your shoes.

  • What in god's name did I just watch?

Just learn how to make a proper omelet. It's one of the first things almost every beginner's cookbook teaches, and after maybe two or three of them, you'll have it down pat. I was making traditional omelets when I was six years old for fuck's sake.

  • @yourwhitenoise what are these books you speak of

  • I am sad now.

  • @spitcloth turn that frown upside down! :)

  • *subscribes* Any one that makes a tutorial that will point out it's own flaws, and not pretend to be perfect, is my kinda...."tutorialist?" a smaller bag may be of aid. Also, if you made some sort of apparatus, a tripod or something, to hold the bag...

  • @silntdoogood

I like my education to come from people who dont really know what they are talking about too. let's be friends.

  • @crickettitties

    k, invited.

  • ok... you could do that or you could just cook it in a pan in less than half the time without toxic plastic bags

  • Jesus! Or just cut out the whole bag bit and pour it into a pan! A real omlette, less fuss and crap

  • Not only possibly toxic, but a bad take on a simple yet tasty dish. salt, pepper, butter a frying pan and some finesse are needed to do a good one - i saw none of thosehere. that looks like a yellow plastic turd, and probably feels the same in your mouth. I view this in the same light as someone roasting a trifle - quite absurd...

  • ten minutes- omg. That's a long time

  • Oh - thanks for your info - I never really gave it much thought - until you pointed this out. Oops!! Makes perfect sense - thanks again.

  • WARNING: Ziploc Omelets are toxic!

According to a University of Illinois press release, "I thought it was important to respond to a questionably safe Food Fad, the ZIPLOC OMELET. It is the latest NOT recommended fad. Please... DON'T try this at home. There is still question about the cancer causing breakdown of plastics and their contact with food during cooking. We have contacted the Ziploc company and they replied by telling us that ZIPLOC® brand Bags cannot be used to boil food."

  • great way to get cancer from the plastic vaporising into the egg.

  • I totally Agree with your comment. UNSAFE Way of making an omelette. Easier to make it in the pan anyways.

  • 10 minutes or 10 seconds

  • lol i tried and my ziplock melted

  • fuck me , that's stupid and disgusting

  • That just blew my fucking mind.

  • I love his accent :P

  • Just wanted to say that we make these with grated cheese, ham, green peppers, onions, etc. and put them in the ziplock bags - then into our cooler for camping!! It makes such an easy breakfast - just pop the pre-filled ziplock bags into the pot of boiling water - and voila!! Gourmet breakfast in the great outdoors!! (The cooking time is about 15 minutes because of the extra ingredients.)

  • nightowl7777: According to a University of Illinois press release, Ziploc Omelets are not safe to eat. There is still question about the cancer causing breakdown of plastics and their contact with food during cooking. The Ziploc company also stated that you should never use the bags for boiling food.

  • well then its too plain. Whats an omlette without cheese and stuff. am I supposed to dip it in ketchup? the pan way seema lot easier than bringing water to a boil and keeping an eye on it for 10 minutes. it takes me about 3 minutes to make a pan omelette. sorry but its a bad idea.

  • This is about as retarded as poaching eggs in cling film. Pretty wasteful and you'd end up with rubbery eggs that taste like shit.

  • Umm...you put food and snacks into ziploc bags, don't you?? You put them in your lunch boxes, bags, etc, and carry them throughout the day....in the sun. The amount of "toxins" released into your food is probably so small, you would have to eat dozens of these ziploc bag omelettes a day for 20 years to have anything happen to you!!

  • a ziploc in boiling water gets hotter than one in the sun, and who leaves their food out in the sun, does that make any sense? everyone refrigerates it or keeps it in a lunchbox, neither of which options reaches 100*c...

  • This is really quite slack...Is it really so hard to make a real, soft folded omlette? If you season your pan properly then it will never stick and a little bit of butter never killed anyone.

  • I was one of the morons who tried this - although the recipe came from Paula Dean. It was delicious and a lot of fun to create when you're having several people over for brunch (or breakfast).

Little did I know that by boiling the Glad or Ziplock bag, you are releasing chemical toxins from the bag onto your food.

Wanna try another way to make an easy omelet for groups evenly and quickly? Put them all into individual ramekins and bake them.

  • you can get cancer if you look to the left when it rains nowadays. a few bag omelets are not going to kill you. unless you suffocate yourself with the bag for some reason.....or choke on the omelete I suppose.

  • That plastic is not meant to be heated. I would not do this all the time or ever. I do have friends that do this while camping so they don't make a mess in the pan. I have wondered if there is any other material that is safe to heat that you could use. This plastic when heated will leach all sorts of chemicals into the food.

  • oh come on. a few ziplock omelets isnt gonna kill anyone. and how much do you think even gets into the omelet? the amount is so small that you probably have to eat like 5 of them every day for the rest of your life to have any effects at all

  • dat looks digusting

  • I would do it in a seal a meal bags for a large group of people! You could make the bags up ahead of time and plop them in the water...everyone could enjoy

bkfst at the same time. No ziplocks. Also, Lauder makes a healthy boil in a bag.

  • Thank you so much!! it really worked. And they tasted pretty good; have any other quick-cooking style? thanks again.

  • they really come out alot fluffier then normal and alot better so...nice job ive actually done this for 2 years

  • and your still alive from the toxins.....lol

  • really a stupid way to make an omelette..

  • the plastic might melt into the omlet so i would would do this if i were you.

  • I agree. While in the eyes it may not seem like the plastic melts into the egg, it is possible that under high heat, the plastic leeches into the egg. I wouldn't do this either unless the bag is meant for cooking. A ziploc bag typically isn't meant for cooking.

  • I want a real omelet not scrabled or boiled

  • i tryed it. the baggy gets onto the egg, it's VERY disgusting

  • thuvargan

  • careful! when you heat polyethelene that much, it can be dangerous to eat what comes out of it. don't do this if you are planning to have children.

  • THIS WAS SO FUN TO MAKE! this was the best idea!! specially for college kids haha..

    anymore ideas? haha.

    thanks man!

  • Lol,have fun,enjoy,and get really fat.

Awesome way of making omelets to go.

  • interesting... suprised my husband, in his Bachelor days, didn't do this, LOL!

  • we are going to make these for cooking, what do i tell my teacher?

  • I'm reticent to use a ziplock bag as the primary food contact surface. As an alternative, I would use an "oven bag," which is also plastic but designed for higher temperatures. Oven bags can be used for turkeys, pot roasts, etc. which have high temperature boiling juices. The only problem with oven bags is that they're not "ziplock" One would have to "twist tie" them which would result in an oddly shaped alternate. To remedy this, I would trim the oven bag to fit inside of the ziplock bag.

  • If I actually liked eggs, I would try it with the appropriate precautions. Nevertheless, this is a novel idea.

  • Great idea! I too was worried about the heating of a ziplock

  • thts gross

  • hooray for Ziplok!!!!
