  • This is beautiful, such expression and a fine rich tone from that melodica. What type is it?

  • anybody know what the best melodica out there is? My Hohner fire sounds ok but I bet there are much better ones. The one you are playing sounds quite nice indeed.

  • Awesome Job on this. You manage to get a very pretty tone out of that melodica.

  • Too kind. Thank you, fellow Tuber.

  • lol wtf

  • lol wtf

  • Great song and wonderful playing. I have somehow lost my hohner 32,,,do you have any opinions on other models of melodicas? Have you ever played a 36 key melodica? What did you think. Thanks and keep up the great music!

  • Answer to manfromearth: Thanks, I recently bought a 36 key. It doesn't feel or sound as good as my other one but that's probably because it was cheap.

  • Love it!

  • echoing everyone else's comments, this is amazing! would you have any pointers for someone who wants to learn the melodica? how much breath force does it require, is it like a harmonica or a larger instrument, a horn or something?

  • Answer to imairlax: Yes, I would say similar to blowing a harmonica. You can also get a slight downward bend of the lower notes by over blowing - like you can bend notes on harmonica.

  • what are the guitar chords?

  • Answer to joepiejoey - sorry, I don't know the guitar chords. I worked them out once but that was a year ago and I've not played it again since this recording.

  • You're the best melodica player(in my opinion) I've heard on youtube. I love your control of expression and subtle nuances that sometimes other players miss. It makes the performance that much more soulful. By the way, I don't know if this was asked already but could you please let me know what kind of melodica that is? I've been playing piano for years but have really been wanting to learn the melodica as well. The one you play sounds very nice. Thanks.

  • Not sure I'm worthy of such high praise but I thank you and I shall take your words as a sign that I am heading in the right direction. The melodica I play in this video is an Angel Melodyhorn AM-32K.

  • Awesome! Thanks to you and a few other here on youtube for turning me on to this amazing and cool little instrument!

  • I like it better than the original too.

  • excelente saludes desde costa rica

    cheers !

  • That was really good i loved it

was i right to assume thats a guitar in the little sepia frames you put in?

cus it looks like more than 6 strings between my bad eyes and my old monitor

  • Yes, it's a 3/4 size nylon string acoustic.

  • WOW,GREAT!!!

  • brilliant performance, what brand of melodica are you using? xx

  • ah actually that's answered bellow. :)

  • very creative..with the shore at the end !

  • woooow... hey, im about to buy a melodica, do you have any advise for me? is hard to control the breath? great video.

  • Use the strait smooth blow for pure tones. Blow hard to give the impression of the note bending. Use the tongue as if you were saying "look" "Good" or "tea" for some interesting rhythmic pulses. For vibrato do it just as if you were vibrating your voice. In fact I would say try to think of the whole thing as an extra voice.

  • wooow tanks a lot

  • and don't buy things above €100 or something.. i'm using a Belcanto melodica from €23,95 for 5 years now! i never had to tune him.

  • grateful for the song keep up the good work. hope to hear more in the future?

  • Very nice, indeed! Great phrasing, and sense of timing...

    - WA

  • This sounded... very melodic... No pun intended... No but seriously it sounded awsome... I'm about to buy one of these. Melodicas have a beautiful sound. Nice work. Nice song...

  • good job!... i love the melodica piano

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some trading cards of 1960's chart topping stars: Acker Bilk, Billy Fury, Elvis Presley, Connie Francis, Shirley Bassey, Lonnie Donegan, Frank Sinatra, Cliff Richard, and Billy Furry.

  • This was an awesome video, great breath control on the melodica. You get some really throaty clarinet sounds.

That said, the waves at the end killed the mood. Your playing speaks for itself, no need to bring wave footage in.

  • Thanks, I think you're right about the waves, surplus to requirements.

  • hee hee it looks like youre doing it in your lunch break at work cuz of the hard hat sign! but thats really cool, ive never seen an instrument like that before. what kind of mouth piece has it got?

  • The mouth piece is a bit of plastic pipe, and you just blow down it.

  • Very good and entertaining
