How do you get rid of the terrible hissing sound when not playing? I can't use it like this!! Only present on distortion settings. I'm using a Zakk Wylde preset for example, but I just get major hissing between notes.
To completely get rid of hiss you will need to use humbuckers or silent single coils, high-quality guitar cable and turn your monitor off and move away from the pc.
@w0sp0 : the noise you hear is usually augmented using compressors. the best thing is using a dedicated preamp /DI for your guitar signal,so you can balance noise-to-signal level (the higher the input trim, the higher the noise). Cheap audio card / preamp /DI = more noise.
There's alot of things that cause noise, for example:
My laptop with the cheapo sound card has NO noise (really bad latency though)
My desktop (which I use as a home cinema system) has a really expensive 7.1 card, this has massive amounts of noise. Although this could be caused by the amount of electricity running through the thousands of cables behind it! LOL!
I want to know if i can manage to get latency below 70ms on my laptop without the amount of samples making it sound crap lol
Thanks! I'll have to think about my options, 'cause I live in Argentina (so dollars = 0). Hopefully, I'll be trying this awesome piece of software really soon. Thanks again.
Si no lo encuentras busca algun reseller que lo venda allà en Argentina.

Ok, only just stumbled here.
To completely get rid of hiss you will need to use humbuckers or silent single coils, high-quality guitar cable and turn your monitor off and move away from the pc.
Having clean electricity helps too.

Also, too much gain = more noise.
