Hmm...I looked it up and the original title of the book was indeed "Ten Little Niggers". I never knew that. Our teachers never told us. We even did the play and it was never mentioned. But the original title fits much better and clarifies the book. Well, I suppose someday people won't be allowed to call white people "whitey" or "honky" or "cracker" or "redneck" or "hick". We'll all just have to call each other "Hey, um, you there".
so i typed in 1945's a game of death and this comes up, seems interesting i'll give it a go. Also if anyone knows where i could watch a game of death feel free to share, it's a remake of the 1932's the most dangerous game.
06:40 the guy during this particular moment had a different name in the book. what was it? can someone please tell me as soon as possible. my friend and i r desperate!
@ExplorerDS6789 The most awesome sadomasochist ever, that's who. I swear, I could listen to him sing that all day and night. Most epic nursery rhyme ever XD
@ExplorerDS6789 No, no. Now it's "Ten individuals of varying ethnic backgrounds, none of which will die as to avoid claims of racism towards whichever of them dies first. But can they ever sip tea!"
@PinkCommittee how the movie is almost nothing like the book they were on soldier island not indian island and in the ending all the characters die not just 8 and quincannons name is judge wargrave in the book and there were soldier statues on the tables not indians did your teacher even notice?
@wiiguy145 When the novel originally was released in the United States, the island was called Indian Island, after the nursery rhyme "Ten Little Indians." Recent editions of the book have changed the name to Soldier Island and the nursery rhyme to "Ten Little Soldiers," mostly due to political correctness. But originally the name of the island was Indian Island, just like in the movie. The original name of the island and title of the British version was a lot more vulgar and racist.
@FluffyPuff16 haha the funny thing is, I read it last night like from beginning to end in one sitting and it was amazing!!! and the ending was so unpredictable... I wish we'd had a longer time to read it it was rly good :)
@96raindrop96 yeah the ending was awesome. lol i was talking to my friend about the killer and she was like "you never find out who it was..." and i was like "you didn't read the epologue did you?" and she was like"...CRAP!"
This would make a good thriller. Why hasn't anyone picked it up?

Finished reading "And Then There Were None" this morning. Only started reading it a couple of days ago but couldn't stop turning the page over.
I guessed correctly who I thought it was too, though in truth you do start to suspect everybody at different times when you're reading it.
Really wish they'd do a film version with modern actors and the original ending.

they should remake this, or transfer it into colour or something, though this isn't bad, but I know it'll discourage alot of people

the film ending is the one Christie wrote herself for the 1943 play adaptation. Less grim, but no less effective I think.
