  • My lord she just keeps getting prettier and better sounding with age.

  • Well done. normally I don't anyone doing a Beatles song, But girl you hit it out of the park.

  • i dont like this cover=(

  • @lachiavedido Hmm...Emmylou is better.

  • Beautiful...first time hearing this cover...

  • @lachiavedido I do too @_@

  • Probably my favorite McCartney Cover

  • One of the best voices I will ever hear I love her to bits

  • @lachiavedido your a dick she's showing the effect the beatles had on her and that she's glad to cover one their songs. hey lets hear you sing if ur so good.

  • This is Paul's song all the way. As much as I revere the Beatles, I prefer EmmyLou's version. It truly brings out the beauty of the melody and the pathos of the lyrics. I think that Paul would definitely approve.

  • This video makes me sad. Because she sucks. For No One is probably the Beatles' best song. Not only does she completely butcher it, but she fluffs the words. Terrible.

  • Damn. She's as old as my mum and still very sexy...

  • Nice Job on Letterman. made me cry, thank you God bless you

  • Melinda wilson wishes she could look as good as Emmylou

  • It was a great song but it just cant be done without the right harmony and let's face it 30-40% of the song was that little french horn melodie without it the song it terrible

  • I've never been a fan of Emmylou Harris but I know she's talented. This may sound shallow but she is so damn good looking. She's one of the extremely rare women that actually got better looking as she aged. I don't know if it's that silver hair or what but she's got sharp features which make her face so pretty. I would love to see her up close and in person. She's so pretty.

  • GREAT turn of this tune!

  • Talk about shitting on a great song. Love you Emmylou but, really.

  • Just an amazing lady. So talented and I think just as beautiful now as when I saw one of her shows fifteen years ago.

  • Simply Emmylou,

she is the BEST and I love her.

    Kurt from Germany

  • she is an angel

  • She is incredible and touches your heart on countless occasions, but this performance?

  • Yet one more song for the lost love of her life - I can relate Emmy! Where would I be without your music?

  • oh wow she really does butcher this song

  • @callycap3 Yep! big time.

  • Nice, but out of tune here and there

  • She is freaking BEAUTIFUL.. she has a GREAT plastic surgeon

  • she is sexy

  • How could you NOT like this?! 42 losers thats all I'm sayin'

  • @jtomanthony Well, 471 losers loved that shit.

  • gonna let my gray hair grow out, thanks Emmy

  • I hear you brother ...... Getting better all the time....

  • I warned my wife that if she ever stopped at my door and asked me to run away with her, I would tell her no.... but i would think about it for while before I did.

  • Looking good Mike!!!!......Mickey

  • Sorry but she's slows this song down too much. The mandolin is a nice touch though.

  • she sounds great but did anyone notice that her face doesn't move at all anymore? too much botox maybe?

  • @crimsoncat55 It never did...

  • @crimsoncat55 When you sing like that, it gives your voice a more nasally effect. It's very difficult to sing like that get the power behind it like she does.

  • She does two important things for this song. Her voice is such a perfect fit for it so just by singing it she helps it. The related thing is that she changes the key to match her range by capoing it to the 4th fret. That moves the song from pretty to beautiful. Subtle changes, but they make all the difference.

  • my god how beautiful she is ;) as woman my compliments to my Emmylou for her music and the way she is ;) love you Emmy

  • shes beautiful i agree and the song is good 2!!!!

  • @pikapower127

obviously you don't know Jack about real music

  • I hope, in my next life, I`ll meet this beautiful angel..

  • Thanks while I mark for guitar practice: 0:31

  • KennediKingMusic - beauty isn't much connected with age. Prettiness, yes, that fades in your twenties.

  • This was written by PAUL MCCARTNEY only.....no Lennon on the song at all, not even in recording it.

  • @CurtisHalfHalf Who CARES?

  • @CurtisHalfHalf that works both ways. they agreed in the beginning to share song writing credits.

  • @rfranklinw1 Youre right, but theres just something ridiculous about John Lennon getting any credit for something he didnt write at all, not even a little part and that he didnt even play or sing in the recording of the song, not even a little...

John Lennon was wonderful, but Paul McCartney, its been argued, was the more talented of the two; I think thats true.

  • @rfranklinw1 This is correct. John and Paul agreed to share credit for songwriting, regardless of which of them was most responsible for a given song. Nowadays, it is a popular pastime to argue about who wrote which song. in most, but not all, cases, once they got into the recording studio, there was much collaboration in creating the final form, collaboration that involved all four Beatles and George Martin.

  • @CurtisHalfHalf

maybe, but it's noted as John Lenon's& Paul Mccartney song.

  • @Hobott Youre free to be as ignorant as you like; I guess its more convenient that way...take care.

  • @CurtisHalfHalf

Don't know why do you peeve- what I said is true. I don't think even Paul would pretend For no one is only his. Like sharing the property after the divorce.

  • @Hobott Go read about the song & then you yourself will know who wrote it & who was/wasnt involved in recording it. There's no record company anymore promoting 'The Beatles' & the genius songwriting duo 'Lennon/McCartney'.They collaborated on alot of music, but some songs were solely the work of only one of them. Paul McCartney at one point did make an issue about song writing credits(you can go look it up),he wanted the order of their names switched relevant to him being the primary writer.

  • @CurtisHalfHalf there also many great songs (in my opinion better songs) from john lennon, where paul mccartney is also listed as co-writer ;-)

  • @BlackRisinSun Inversely, the same thing applies, John Lennon was wonderful and Paul McCartney deserves no credit where it was Lennon's talent & creativity alone. If there is a point here, its that 'The Beatles' were a long time ago, and the immediacy of creative legal agreements and rights has faded, we generally know now, who wrote what.

  • @CurtisHalfHalf

You are correct. It IS credited to Lennon-McCartney though, and she probably didn't know.. or was being diplomatic/politically correct.

  • @CurtisHalfHalf

John did say, "One of my favourites of his—a nice piece of work."

  • @CurtisHalfHalf Yeah! Glad for that...because I am SO much more a Paul fan!

  • @CurtisHalfHalf but credited to lennon/mccartney

  • @vinice0 I suggest you go back and read my original comment and everything that followed, Im tired of arguing and explaining this to people....I guess its convenient to be stupid; you can wrap everything up in lovely pink bows with purple polka dots & not spend another minute thinking....WE HAVE WIKIPEDIA for crying out loud, things couldnt be easier...or you could hire a Mexican to think for you............(?)

  • @CurtisHalfHalf i'm not saying you're wrong. I'm only saying that all the songs written by lennon or mccartney were credited to both. They made an agreement about that. So if you want to be very correct the song is written by both... maybe you could hire a Mexican to accept that.

  • Getting more beautiful every year...

  • @chiangmai700

You're so right! And her voice is like from heaven.

  • @chiangmai700 amen! she definitely does.

  • Check out Meret Becker's version. Probably the most beautiful version ever.

  • @manmanguy OMG that version sucked, thanks for wasting my time.

  • emmy lou just keeps getting more beautiful

  • Prefer Linda Ronstatdt

  • That is one grey haired woman that I wouldn't mind getting in between the sheets with, lol, No disrespect though, it's just a complement!

  • she is absolutely beautiful

  • as much as i like EL; all her songs are sung the same way. that painful angst vibratto. you want to see an interesting version of this song -check out Meret Becker's verion of For No one here on utube

  • @TheBrotherizzy I kind of agree with you. As she's gotten older, her pacing has gotten slower. She needs to stick in a few "Luxery Liners" and "Two More Bottles of Wine" in her sets.

  • She´s World

  • QUE BUENA QUE ESTA ESTA MUJER !!!!!! POR DIOS!!!

  • mmmm no canta tan mal....pero no hay coomo la original....

  • Very powerful rendition of Paul's song. Slowing it down like Emmylou has done really adds to the sadness to the theme of lost love.

  • Emmy Lou is beautiful and so is this song!

  • I think I must agree with you Kennedi she just gets better looking the older she gets.

  • My goddess

  • Forget the tremelo picked, mandolin. It was shit

  • Woman it is a shame, so shut up please

  • the song was written by paul mccartney at least they must put his name first, all the songs have john lennon/paul mccartney even only john lennon this is unfair for paul.

  • what a striking woman

  • Watch this. How to destroy a song, no matter how good it once was.

Shame on you, EmmyLou. Paul's ears are bleeding as are mine.

  • @gustachuva are you insane? This is an absolutely beautiful rendition. Emmy Lou was invited to perform at the Gershwin Award show in front of President Obama and Paul McCartney himself. He loved it.

  • @maxtaffey Of course he loved it. It is bad publicity if he hates it.

  • emmylou is one of the most beautiful women in music today! she has class holds herself so well, has aged so very Gracefuly.. We love you EmmyLou always!!

  • i wish she'd sit on my face

  • @greeniem I was felling kinda blue this morning and then I saw this and laughed out loud! hahahaha Oh dear, she's my age and I thank you for the tribute!

  • @greeniem Stay classy, moron.

  • @maxtaffey you homo cock dog. Don't ever address me again :)

  • This is just a marriage made in heaven...who really cares about the finer points of who wrote it.

  • Damn, ppl get a life and quit arguing over who wrote it. it's a beautiful song sung by a beautiful woman

  • I know there was shared publishing between L&Mc but this is 100% Paul.

  • she's like an old maria bamford

  • Funny how she mentions Lennon first then McCartney as the writers and this is pretty much a McCartney song. One of my favorites and pretty much refutes the criticism that Paul couldn't write subtle and deeply moving lyrics. I think they could have used the mandolin and Dobro's percussiveness to reproduce the minuet feeling from the record. . . . and still keep the country feeling which I like. . . bottom line it doesn't work for me.

  • @richdys probably because mccartney/lennon songs for the beatles, regardless who really wrote them, were labeled as "lennon/mccartney". it turned into a phrase, no?

  • @richdys Is it british fairplay ? Lennon & Macca wrote separately and helped each other with a line. Paul could write silly songs with stupid words and masterpieces, like this one, with great lyrics. Some of his lines real flow and make me think of Joni Mitchell. Emmylou should hire Joni's arranger, Mr Mendoza...

  • @PhilAroundhits John wrote silly love songs too.. Starting over... Come on. They were both incredible gifted songwriters and in my opinion the greatest songwriters ever!

  • Also, great song!

  • She is insanely hot for her age. Hell, she beats out a lot of chicks half her age.

  • She was once on People Magazine's list as the 50 most beautiful people in the world. I can see why.

  • I feel every man had a crush on her

  • I like her song of poorsweetbaby, and she is a knock out wwth looks

  • I like her voice, I like the instrumentation. . . but she slowed it down so that I can't hear how melodious the song is. And that's most of what hooks you. It's like she's trying to HIDE how well the song flows. Not nice.

  • I bet when I was 20 something, I probably wouldn't have found her "attractive" with this amazingly stunning silver platinum hair. Thank God I grew up!!! What a world class beauty and incredible artist!! Hahaha. Great post. ~KK

  • its pretty good and i love this version but its to slowly

and for no one is not country music

  • I would.

  • GMILF

  • @44eelz Hey cool it you do know that alot of kids are on youtube do you?

  • @coolsweetgroovy and she will give em all boners

  • @44eelz I said cool it there are kids here but yes i'd agree with you

  • I'm not a big fan of country per se but she did a great cover!

  • Emmylou still looks fierce and amazing skin to match

  • I'm gonna listen to Paul's version, to wash my ears. Sorry, Emmylou.

  • @PhilAroundhits What????? c'mon she's a class act

  • @coolsweetgroovy This is a slaughter. No arrangement (the song is tragic, let's do it very slow, wow !), the band is an elephant herd and the voice isn't always in tune. Macca is a master, no shame in missing. There's a few versions here, Beatles, Paul with a string quartet and a french horn, Paul alone (doing the french horn). Outstanding. And the song is one of his best. Nothing against EH.

  • @PhilAroundhits I was ready to say "fuck you, shove your opinion up your ass", but man, I couldn't agree more.

  • @PhilAroundhits Excuse me? I was just saying she did a good cover that's all

  • @PhilAroundhits Hahahahaha....well... I'm gonna take the high road here...hahahahaha ~KK

  • @KingHopeMusic You're welcome.

  • I always think she sings with such pathos because she still carries the pain from Gram Parsons

  • great son

  • A lovely version.

  • @BardofCornwall a bit overdone?

  • 'sta 'mbecille ha rovinato 'na canzone da paura. ma chi c@§§o se crede da esse?

  • written by sir james paul mccartney to be precise!!

  • amazing version by a woman

  • holy moly she is beautfull,,, yea i think she is like 60 years old at this point.. wow

  • a song massacre. oh well :)

  • This is a beautiful cover version. For those of you who hate this version: The idea of covering another songwriters' work isn't to create a reasonable copy, it is to interpret the song in a new way. I believe Sir Paul is pleased with this version, and Emmylou was recently invited to play this for Paul himself at the White House. A great honor for her, and so well deserved.

  • Is there a good cover of the song?

  • @Catherineprescott Actually, I thought the version of "For No one" that Emmylou did on her first major album (Pieces of the Sky) was beautiful. This is kind of different from that... I love Emmylou heart and soul - Really, the version that she did originally back in the 70s was much better. A love that should have lasted years...

  • she speaks too much

  • Yikes, this is an embarrasment. It should have been in a faster tempo. This just sounds like a drunk version.

Still, Emmylou is as gorgeous as ever.

  • nice idea- but it's really not a country song- Wmmylou is a good country singer but levce Paul McCartney's songs to Paul

  • Is it me... or is Emmy Lou more beautiful now than ever??? That silver hair is stunning! O ya..hahaha... the song is killer too!! Cheers. ~Kennedi KIng

  • @KennediKingMusic

It definitely isn't just you. She surely is stunning. The music's great, too.

  • @KennediKingMusic Oh my God, yes! My wife simply has to accept that I have had a crush on Emmylou Harris for almost 40 years now.

  • Not even close...

  • terrible

  • Fucking ruined it

  • I can't even listen to this...my god !!!! sacrilege(sp).....

  • esta bien... muy linda... pero la canción es triste. La original de los beatles es mas feliz :)

  • Emmylou, awesome looking girl!!

  • sorry to say that ..... one of the most beautiful songs, an legendary and extremely good looking lady, but THIS coverversion : NO, don't like .... spirit's gone !

  • don't like

    stopped listening on 1:18

  • very beautiful!

  • this much better than Mc's.

Ms. Harris can sing for the men of lost.

  • wow!!

  • Mike Auldridge on Dobro. I don't think they will ever fully appreciate what this woman has done for music. You can't put her in a category and very few women become more ethterially beautiful as time passes. Plays excellen rhythym guitar, too...

  • If silk would have a name, it´s name would be Emmylou Harris. This Beatles song is my favourite of them. But Emmylou gave it an angelic touch. She gave this cover version more quality and a deep reality. That´s her secret. Thanks, dear friend, for sharing this gem with us!!! Five ♥♥♥♥♥ for you! ☼ ڿڰۣ ڿڰۣ— ♫♥♪ Love and Hugs, Rainy ♪♥♫
  • Thank God for the 10 commandments of Country!!!! A great song by the best Country singer of our times. Deb

are you anyone better than her?

    your voice is sweet

  • I think even my wife would respect your voice my love

    so much respect emmy lou

    so much

  • this song ain't CONTRY!!!!

  • @TherealMrChristophel Of course it isn`t. It`s a beatles song, and John Lennon didn`t have a damn thing to do with it. It was written by Paul McCartney!

  • @TherealMrChristophel So what. It a great song, country or not.

  • toche (acute accent on the "e")

  • @TherealMrChristophel Way to overly picky!

  • ...?

  • @TherealMrChristophel Not sure what you are asking?

  • how was I being picky?

  • @TherealMrChristophel Yes, how stupid of me. You are being overly picky, by your acute accent On "e' comment. Even most people with great hearing, would not even notice that.
