Question for Obama: he says that illegal immigrants won't take jobs away from black americans...which is true...the question is what will he do about the 2nd and 3rd generations of families of illegal immigrants taking jobs. I've seen this first hand and not only once or twice...please answer.
No one should be treated as nobility; government representation and good jobs should not be "inherited". Also, Never will forget seeing a picture of Columbus discovered America with Native Americans standing in the background. Bottom line: do what is right no matter the color, sex, country mom gave birth in - that is the American way.
Ohio and Pennsylvania did not demonstrate her strength among white voters in general, but it did show that both states are rich in the demographics that make up Clinton's shrinking base. Hillary Clinton On Southern Working Class Whites In 1995: "Screw 'Em"
Huffington Post
April 16, 2008 02:21 PM
"Screw 'em," she told her husband. "You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them."
Bill Clinton Flashback:
"The reason (George H.W. Bush's tactic) works so well now is that you have all these economically insecure white people who are scared to death," Clinton was quoted saying by the Los Angeles Times in September 1991.

CHANGE! When you had a chance to make change you voted "present" essentially "no comment".
130 TIMES. That way you wouldn't offend anyone. "NO COMMENT" More than any other Senator. Now a promise of change if you get a new office. Your time to rock the boat had come and you stayed on the fence. Fancy speeches don't change your history.
This country of ours is already on the path of healing & uniting because of this wonderful & passionate man. His ablility and strength are just what the doctor ordered!!!
How can anyone bash Obama for what he says here? He speaks the truth, or am I just blind. I am asking honestly and as unagressively as possible. Why is it hard to believe that people are "bitter" in these times? I am bitter. I am angry. I am ready for something to change within our economy. What am I missing? Or am I not wealthy enough to understand the other side of the fence?
If we do not stand up and help this man, what will our lives be like in another 4 years? Barack is able to cut through red tape, sound bites, and smears. Yes, Barack Can. Wow! I would love to have my civil rights and privacy. The constitution must be returned to. No more special interest, corporate law making. We the People, need to impeach the true out-of-touch officials and demand the only laws that remain are representative of We the People!
Barack Obama continues to impress me as not only a different kind of "politician", but also as a truly caring, intelligent person. You Americans are so fortunate to have the opportunity of electing a person of this quality to run your country. As a Canadian, I can only hope he wins this nomination and beats McCain for the Presidency. Just pray he doesn't end up like the other good men; the Kennedys, King and Lincoln.
Obama, you are astonishing fine. I was once for Hillary, but no more. She has gotten mean. Please stay focused on the issues, and try as best as you can to continue to both be and sound intelligent and thoughtful. It is a deep relief.
SALUDOS A OBAMA desde mi pais es como mi hermano lo respeto :) espero a que gane que gane seria un pana para los venezolanos tanto opositores como partidistas del gobierno
A man that admits his mistakes with sincerity and doesn't make excuses. THIS IS OUR FUTURE GOBAMA, 08! George Bush, maybe you should take a lesson from Obama before you leave office.
People need to stop looking to other people to fix their problems and the problems of the world. Obama is part of the Democratic Party that has ample blood on its hands. Stop popping placebo's and saying you feel better.
Having lost hope for this nation in Nov 1999, watching coverage all night as the least qualified bozo in history "won" the election, it brings tears to my eyes to see a transcendant figure to believe in coming forth. If Barack could get in front of every person in America, he'd win in a landslide. In person, his sincerity and forthrightness is projected clearly. I was stunned by seeing him live, because I thought,"Damn, I don't think this guy's full of crap . . WOW!"
1. Calling the president of the U.S. a "bozo" is classless and ignorant. Anyone who applaudes this behavior is the same.
2. "If Barrack could get in front of every person in America- he'd win in a landslide". How so, sir? Would he tell them that they "cling to guns and religion" due to their "bitter(ness)"? Watch him answer specific questions. How about the Weather Underground? Know who they are?
Obama's a great publicspeaker- the next pres of the US can usea guy like him(press secretary?)
You Obama supporteres are fooling yourselves if you think Obama is the answer to this countries problems. This guy scares me. He, his wife, and his pastore of 20 years are racist. All you have to do is listen to his speeches. This guys racist attitude and inexperience are just two reasons he is the wrong guy for this time in our history. I hate to say it but I would be forced to vote McCain if Obama becomes are decocratic nominee.
I support you in whatever you do as well..I agree the bloated overexposed personality needs to go away!! He sux and I really don't think he is black..you know some indians look black...he's an indian with a kink job perm in his hair...He's hiding his indian accent..
goodylook obama, i support you but what ever you do, as much as it is possible, try not to go negative.
-
Obama is not just "fighting" Hillary the whole Rep Neocon machine is after him Fox news does nothing but go after him EVERY Neocon DJ is after him infact the Indiana young Neocon Rep club is now doing negative shows on him before the Indiana primary. The man is fighting on ALL fronts he has to fight back. The Rich status quo will NOT allow real change thus they prefer Hillary over Obama
He is the closest person to being a people's candidate since FDR. Not only because of way he speaks, but because of the way he has run his campaign. Because he has brought the campagin to the people, for the first time people feel connected to a candidate and
are willing to contribute their $5.00 and $10.00.
I sometimes liken this period in political
history to the 1930s and we may SEE this episode played out between Barack 'FDR' Obama and John 'Herbert Hoover' McCain.
Our economy sucks as it is... maybe Obama can help the average amearican a little better then any other person running... We won't know until the elections over and bush is out of office.
Basically throughout this whole campaign, there's has been plenty of "Obama bashings". I respect how Obama doesn't stoop to their level, or rather, he speaks intelligently about the real deal and the issues at hand. He has alot of integrity and honor in this campaign, that's why we should vote for him. if i was 18 i would vote for him too. i just hope that America can also hear the youth's voice as equally as the other people's voice, which is exactly what Obama is doing.
I'm amazed that you'd comment on this video with these words, if only because it seems as though this entire video is Obama "stooping to their level". I agree that Clinton (and, to a certain extent, McCain) were wrong in making so much of Obama's "bitter" comment - but Obama's response here is just as negative.
doubt it! correcting someone who is making up stuff and engaging in "politics as usual" is not being negative, it's addressing what the other person put on the table like the decent and strong man that he is! That's truth and that what I want our President to do, to be fair, honest, upfront, and address the issues...leaving out the B.S. (something clinton and mccain are unable to do) PERIOD! Learn to recognize truth when you see it!
Obama "stooping to their level". I don't think so. He has a right to defend himself. When she attacks him, she attacks us all. We should be bitter. We're in a recession. When he defends himself against these crazy attacks, he's defending our right to have a better life. And his response are mature, and funny, and honest. Her attacks are dirty, mudslinging and dishonest. Shame on you, Hillary Clinton.
I think it's a natural response from Obama. When you're attacked you must defend yourself and explain things to people. But I've rarely seen that Obama had attacked any candidate first, usually it's the other way around, especially from McCain and Hillary.
No it is not, idiot. Obama is FINALLY after so many attacks just defendinjg himself, with FACTS, not slandering or twisting of words, like Mcshit and Bitchillary have been doing.
No, the problem with that is that they attack Obama and he defends himself, showing that their arguments are JUST as ridiculous. If they won't cease their attacks, he's gonna have to do something different. And here's the thing: Hillary and McCain are using the exact same arguments. They've allied with each other to push Obama out of the election. He has to show their ridiculousness in any way he can.
stop tryna bring baraCK Down and y dont u try and actually do something 4 us instead of jus rappin about health care. u dont stand 4 anything but u want 2 try 2 challenge barack??

BARACK OBAMA WILL BE THE PRESDIENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA OF
Who prior to this situation, ever used the term "Elitist"? Seriously, what "average", "normal" American used this term prior to hearing/seeing/reading it? Check his record, his background.
Increasing Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits just as the first baby boomers begin to collect said benefits will hurt the economy threefold. In 2003, such spending accounted for 32% of the Federal Govt. payroll. In 2007, it accounted for 35%. The curtailing of such initiatives must occur, or else by 2040 payments of the national deficit interest will account for 100% of federal spending. Vote with your brain and not your heart. Tax cuts and the downsizing of federal government '08.
Don't worry. The Fed will print more money and the rest of the world using dollar as currency, will finance the medicare and social security of American through inflation.
Every time a dollar is printed without corresponding value (like money laundering), whoever has dollar based asset loses some of its value. That is why the Fed was able to inject billions of new dollars into wall street in spite of the unsustainable deficit it is in. Why cut spending when you can print new money?
There is nothing special about Obama. He has memorized lines to the issues, same ole, same ole. Obama is getting old, fast. His well crafted image is old news now. He has only had the advantage in the fact that many people didnt know anything about him. Now they are begining to learn, and they dont like him.
I'm Ethiopian-German and very enthusiastic about Obama. In my view he's the best candidate. He reacts extremely cool to the various attacks, doesn't lose his temper or counter-attack people, stands up for what he believes in. He doesn't look down on people, to the contrary. He is authentical for me. I guess hecan be trusted. If I were a U.S. citizen, I would vote for Obama. We love him & the American people. Obama for President!
Pennsylvanians and all Americans: Please support Obama.
All these positive comments and high ratings will mean NOTHING unless we vote for Obama. We can no longer depend on the "others" to voice our opinions. We must vote for someone who has integrity, honor, and will return the government to its original charge of "For the people," instead of the McCain and Clinton strategy of "To the people."
Hillary's biggest victory has been to convince the media that they have been too "soft" on Obama. Now they're bending over backwards to make him look bad. On April 11 Chris Matthews reported that Barack had (gasp) turned down a cup of coffee at a diner and ordered orange juice instead. This was given as further "proof" that Obama is an "elitist". Could this get any more ridiculous?
Man that's good to have an American politician who's so firmly opposed to lobbyists. I wouldn't say that lobbyists are the root of all evil, but close enough. They've been running the show for 50 years now. All candidates talk about change but I won't believe any of them but the one who refuses to be the big lobbies' puppet. How can you work for the people when you owe your seat to military contractors or pharmaceutical giants?

I don't think Obama is that Pollyannish. But he and people like me think that things can be a lot better for everyone if we put our minds to making it that way. You can stand in our way if you want. People like us don't mind helping the people who stand against us when they finally figure out how right we were.
Such pessimistic thinking facilitates the perpetuality of our current circumstances. Be positive, dude. It's the only way to actually be better, and live better.
The difference, though, is that Ron Paul is a real conservative and Obama is a Socialist. He probably will get us out of Iraq, but at the same time he will surely increase government spending and taxes. It's a shame that the Republican-voting populace chose McCain.
mccain is unrealistic in believing this country can benefit from the same policies of the bush administration.
just because obama anticipates a positive future doesn't mean he's foolish or living in a fantasy. it means he's optimistic and is willing to work toward something better.
the american dream consists of anticipating and working toward a better future and as someone who is living the american dream i can attest to its very real possibility of coming true.
Lol MCcain is old he doesent no what hes talking about. He would love to run against Hillary. He is scared to go up against a young charismatic opponent with unlimited amount of money.
so your saying americans cant have dreams about a better place? hes dreaming this and hes going to achieve it one way or another. as a canadian if obama isnt chosen to become president then America will be looked down by every other country.
Yes, McCain does want to keep things "real". He wants to keep them "real expensive" with a continued multi-trillion dollar deal. He wants to keep it "real dangerous" with a continued war in Iraq. And he wants to keep things "real stagnant" with a third Bush Administration. If that is your kind of reality I prefer a change.
I think you are wrong, the difference between McCain and Obama is that Obama knows what is going on in the world and he has dreams or fantasies (as you said) for the future while McCain lives on a dream and "keep {his} shit real" for the future
It's sad how many people have lost the American dream. What sets us apart from other countries is our idealism. Barack Obama is the American dream. It's un-patriotic to be racist or just submit to someone who want's to be a sheep. There is an america because someone like Obama told England to eat shit. Because there were people who dreamed and had a vision. If we thought they were not "real" there would be no U,S,A.
If Obama lives in a fantasy where do you live? Have you ever thought about the fact that when he was a child (In the 60's) it would have been a joke to suggest that a black man would be president? Some probably would have told him then "Son, you're living in a fantasy". Success stories include "nay, sayers" like yourself telling the "dreamers" that they were crazy to think they could succeed. Remember this: It's those people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world that usually do.
lol...you sound like Hillary a year ago. How will this skinny black guy with no clout and a funny name every even get an audience? lol now he is the leading vote getter in the race now. He has changed politics, has white black, latino and asian behind him in a way never before seen in american politics. Lol, it seemed like a fantasy a year ago didn't it. But hey IIIIII wake up! This is REAL!!
Obama has never said "jobs for everyone" or "no more wars." In fact, Obama has explicitly said that he *doesn't* oppose all wars. Where did you get these quotes from?
You have to dream it and reach for it before you can achieve it. There's nothing wrong with believing that you can change the negative conditions we are in in America. McCain has a different approach but Obama is not living in a fantasy world. The goals that you mentioned earlier are achievable. To hell with that phrase "keeping it real". The reality is that things a fucked up and we have to changed them. Thats the real for people who WANT to change. Wake up sir or maam. OBAMA 08
So anyone who says the right of the people to bear arms has anything to do with a militia needs to learn how to read or is trying deconstruct out constitution for there own agenda.
Senator obama words while poorly chosen mean nothing he could never remove the right to bear arms and should such a foolish president attempt it they would have full out revolt on there hands.
People are not bitter, they enjoy seeing their jobs go oversees. They hate owning their own home, and love seeing children die in another nation's civil war. John McCain is not elitist at all, He's only worth $44 Million.
It's an insult to information to label Sen. Obama as an elitest; he's spent his entire career fighting for justice, teaching the rule of law, and educating others on how to better themselves. That said, he's not a polished politician; he will make mistakes. Others are just pissed because he's the ONLY candidate that doesn't embrace lobbyists, PACs, and etc. Sen. Obama isn't looking down on anyone; he's just walking tall! Don't b fooled PA; vote CHANGE. Vote for Sen. Obama!!!
BRILLIANT!!!!!!! I'm glad he brought up the fact that ordinary Americans are funding his campaign and ultimately he's accountable to them!! That's an important point to bring up because Bush and all the others before him have been accountable to oil companies and big corporations! NO MORE!
this guy thinks he's running for the job of a preacher of some kind. he is super smart but his focus is skewed and i dont trust him. i dont like macain or clinton but if he showed more focused agenda we would all like him more

I would love to have my civil rights and privacy. The constitution must be returned to. No more special interest, corporate law making. He should stay away from debates with Hillary. He looks bad being more passive and would not win by being aggressive either.
I have yet to watch a debate in recent years that really informed me of much.

If he is going to win the presidency, this is exactly the message he must continue to push forward.
Now, is he going to appoint John Edwards as Attorney General? He spent most of his law career fighting the insurance and medical lobbys.
He really makes the most sense to me.
I still believe this country is mostly moral and wants to do the right thing.
I still don't know if it's Obama, but he is at least talking a good game.

You Americans are so fortunate to have the opportunity of electing a person of this quality to run your country.

He is the closest person to being a people's candidate since FDR. Not only because of way he speaks, but because of the way he has run his campaign. Because he has brought the campagin to the people, for the first time people feel connected to a candidate and
are willing to contribute their $5.00 and $10.00.
I sometimes liken this period in political
history to the 1930s and we may SEE this episode played out between Barack 'FDR' Obama and John 'Herbert Hoover' McCain.

I agree that Clinton (and, to a certain extent, McCain) were wrong in making so much of Obama's "bitter" comment - but Obama's response here is just as negative.
andersen1587 3 years ago
doubt it! correcting someone who is making up stuff and engaging in "politics as usual" is not being negative, it's addressing what the other person put on the table like the decent and strong man that he is! That's truth and that what I want our President to do, to be fair, honest, upfront, and address the issues...leaving out the B.S. (something clinton and mccain are unable to do) PERIOD! Learn to recognize truth when you see it!
Psulionae 3 years ago
Obama "stooping to their level". I don't think so. He has a right to defend himself. When she attacks him, she attacks us all. We should be bitter. We're in a recession. When he defends himself against these crazy attacks, he's defending our right to have a better life. And his response are mature, and funny, and honest. Her attacks are dirty, mudslinging and dishonest. Shame on you, Hillary Clinton.

sambrown80 3 years ago
It was not just as negative he was standing up for what he believed and clearing his name why is there something wrong with that???
mariamisspopprinsess 3 years ago
I think it's a natural response from Obama. When you're attacked you must defend yourself and explain things to people. But I've rarely seen that Obama had attacked any candidate first, usually it's the other way around, especially from McCain and Hillary.
sontung007 3 years ago
No it is not, idiot. Obama is FINALLY after so many attacks just defendinjg himself, with FACTS, not slandering or twisting of words, like Mcshit and Bitchillary have been doing.
LittleSunshine03 3 years ago
No, the problem with that is that they attack Obama and he defends himself, showing that their arguments are JUST as ridiculous. If they won't cease their attacks, he's gonna have to do something different. And here's the thing: Hillary and McCain are using the exact same arguments. They've allied with each other to push Obama out of the election. He has to show their ridiculousness in any way he can.
Firebird00500 3 years ago

Increasing Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits just as the first baby boomers begin to collect said benefits will hurt the economy threefold. In 2003, such spending accounted for 32% of the Federal Govt. payroll. In 2007, it accounted for 35%. The curtailing of such initiatives must occur, or else by 2040 payments of the national deficit interest will account for 100% of federal spending. Vote with your brain and not your heart. Tax cuts and the downsizing of federal government '08.
CGrip 3 years ago
Don't worry. The Fed will print more money and the rest of the world using dollar as currency, will finance the medicare and social security of American through inflation.
Every time a dollar is printed without corresponding value (like money laundering), whoever has dollar based asset loses some of its value. That is why the Fed was able to inject billions of new dollars into wall street in spite of the unsustainable deficit it is in. Why cut spending when you can print new money?

Hillary's biggest victory has been to convince the media that they have been too "soft" on Obama. Now they're bending over backwards to make him look bad. On April 11 Chris Matthews reported that Barack had (gasp) turned down a cup of coffee at a diner and ordered orange juice instead. This was given as further "proof" that Obama is an "elitist". mccain is unrealistic in believing this country can benefit from the same policies of the bush administration.
just because obama anticipates a positive future doesn't mean he's foolish or living in a fantasy. it means he's optimistic and is willing to work toward something better.
the american dream consists of anticipating and working toward a better future and as someone who is living the american dream i can attest to its very real possibility of coming true.

You have to dream it and reach for it before you can achieve it. There's nothing wrong with believing that you can change the negative conditions we are in in America.
