@NintendoMastery Well in MANY ways- XP is a UPGRADE from Windows 7 except in actual "time" when it was made. XP runs everything you throw at it! Windows 7 Freezes and Blacks Screens but we need to run a "XP Mode" to fix that..LOL Its Insane!

Depending on the volume of assets, and how the calls are coded. if it's poorly optimized (which is how it looks) then, the whole thing won't load into ram, no matter how much you have, and will go to calls.

XP being the "greatest ever OS" is hugely subjective. You have a choice in operating system why is anyone else who doesn't choose that stupid.

Personally, I'm running Windows 7 and it is far better than anything I have ever used. Uses as much ram as XP, but it's faster, stable and looks good. That's something that isn't subjective by the way: XP looks awful.

It's got the biggest market uptake because of it's age and price. Although marketshare falls between XP and Vista...Not 98...Deffo not.

I've personally never understood the memory/requirements complaints about Vista myself. That's like buying a game with requirements listed and not meeting them, and expecting your hardware to hit a homerun. People complained because their mediocre 256 to 512RAM couldn't handle Vista. Why the hell would they upgrade the OS with such a crappy system in the first place? They had no reason to.

Yeah I have to agree with that, I think it's because on the surface it looks like it uses more, but in facts it's got better resource management. It caches files that are used more than others for a quicker retrieval, if more memory is needed it simply dumps them.

It looks like it uses more but it doesn't. And any new OS won't work well on 512MB memory anyway, it's so cheap now there really isn't much excuse.
