I am not especially a fan of what Russia did to the world, even if it was and still is undoubtly a great nation, politically, scientifically, culturally, geographically, etc. I even hate some aspects of its current ultranationalism, strangely without feeling any hate for the people of Russia which I feel quite close to my sensibility; anyway, this has to be the best national anthem in the world! Just my opinion.

This is a great anthem; it's powerful, bold, robust and rousing. Not the most beautiful music, and to me it's a bit loud and long, but I'm sure it inspires Russians and brings pride to the people. Of course I don't know what the words mean in English, so if I did, it might change my opinion a bit.
