  • Enjoyed the video, beautiful place. Thanks for the yip on applesauce and berries.

  • My backpackhip belt buckle does that too,and its not even broken,it just bends on the bottom prong and dislodges.I think it means i'm getting too fat and my guts pushing the buckle apart.

  • Once again, great videos. Good story telling of a "real canoe trip."

  • I love your intro, your videos are great!

  • Hey Troy, you have inspired me! I am now planning a trip similar to this in Nova Scotia this spring! Great video and fantastic story and advice!

  • Just awesome going through all of them again

  • Hey Troy. Great videos man! How do you film while you are carrying all your stuff and your canoe?

  • what kind of canoe is that?

  • 14:32 throw some large safety pins into your pack and some duck tape wound around a piece of cardboard for just enough for emergencies :)

  • at 4:24 I don't know what the problem is, you act like that gear is a lil heavy-while I see your beautiful hound dog just running and romping with no problem at all :) just kidding, thanks for this video something I have always wanted to do-and the hound dog is absolutely gorgeous :)

  • another great vid. ever thought of putting a bit of weight on the dog? no more than 20 or 30 pounds. wont hurt her and its off of your back

  • damn u r a trooper 81 pounds and a boat wow

  • I love back packing and hiking with my dog. large GermanShepherd. Do you ever worry about snakes with your dog?

  • Looks like a great trip and great series.

    Nate

  • I'll bet the berry water would have made good tea too. Looks like a great time all in all.

  • Hi < love your video's. I've got a young spaniel 3yrs. How old is yours? I'm planning to take mine but he's a little crazy and chases rabbits, birds etc. Thanks

  • Rhythm. Spelling, folks!

  • @XFactor12P Thanks...

  • I'd sleep better knowing you wore ankle support type foot wear, on your portage(s).

  • i keep seeing you with this very comfy looking jacket - is this by chance a patagonia r2 or 3? just curious i really like it.

  • hey maddy, what'd you use to film this? just a point-and-shoot on video mode?

  • @zemantics I use to use a point and shoot - the Cannon PowerShot series. I've recently upgraded to the Canon HF R100. I quite like it.

  • awesome!

  • Great videos!! A lot of fun to watch. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Those cheese sticks are sold here in the refrigerated section. How long on the trail do you feel good with? (I live in central Montana and hike june-september)

  • Hey this is a excellent series. Good to see you toughed it out! I seen and got some excellent information from your videos. I going down the Delaware River in a few weeks, but that will be cake compare to what I just saw in your videos! No complains from me! Can't wait to see the rest. excellent editing also!

  • Really looking forward to this my friend :)

  • Make the dog carry its own food. Take some weight off your back.

  • I am always excited to watch your journeys , I feel for ya hauling all that weight across the portages. And you always eat good too. Now are the portages normally pretty rough that you couldn't use dolly wheels to make them a little easier ?

  • going to sell your old canoe?

  • @dougiebug1 Yup, already did.

  • Sign me up guys !! Its great to see you and Maddy are back Troy .

  • Do you carry an axe or saw for the fire?

  • Thanks man, I've been suffering from some canoeist block (as in writers block) but am currently packing my pack and heading out tomorrow.

    Keep em comming

  • Your awesome!

    Thks for sharing your adventure.

Video and editing is great, appreciate all the effort you put in to your video's!

  • Thanks for post it has given me a lift. My younger brother took his life last week and I have been dwelling on it. Looking forward to the next episode.

  • Great video!I've been waiting for a new one. Can't wait to see the rest of them! Great job Troy

  • Great vid. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Looks like a great trip!

  • YES. More canoe trip videos.

  • thanks for sharing ~ "81 pounds"? is that canoe plus gear plus pack?

  • thanks for sharing

  • 81 POUNDS? ever heard of packrafts?. and maybe carrying a hammock and tarp to save a ton of weight.

  • 81 POUNDS?

  • @chucks970 Heavy indeed, it contained my regular gear which you can see on the MaddyTheGoose website in the Gear section. On top of that I had all of Maddy's stuff including 6+lbs of dog food, her little sleeping bag, 2 1/2 pounds of batteries, two cameras, tripod, etc...so it all adds up. I also miscalculated on the food, too much bannock, and a miscalculation with an eight day trip can get costly. I corrected the food later in the trip. That's also the full, weight including the water I carry.

  • Great video and aswell as all you other video's. keep them coming troy!!

  • YAY!! More Videos! Although unfortunately I won't be able to see the next one this Monday since I will be on a 1 week canoe trip myself! This video so far you did the exact trip I did last year. I'm guessing so far it's enter in at Brent Access (Cedar Lake) then -> Petawawa River -> Narrowbag -> Catfish -> Petawawa ... ?? Anyway to let us know what your entire routing was now? Or will it be left as a surprise?

  • @camper905 I'll keep it a surprised until the end. Not being able to watch because you're on your own trip works for me! Hope you have a great time.

  • Perhaps you could include a quick overview of your route, great vid!

  • @staddona There are some twists in the plot so I don't want to give it away yet :) I'll be sure to post it after all of the videos have been release though.

  • Yay! Thanks for more videos I'm going to have my weekly fix ^_^

  • Very cool, I have been waiting for new videos from you and it looks like my patience is going to be richly rewarded :) I will be watching for part two on Monday.

  • I miss Algonquin. I'm going to the bruce peninsula later this year. Have you been? I don't know much about it.

  • I am so excited. So glad to see you and Maddy on a trip again. I thoroughly enjoy your journeys, it gives me a ton of ideas for my own trips. Thank you for making my day. Have you attempted these kind of trips with a kayak (maybe a 2 seater so Maddy can squeeze in)? Just trying to decide what to get for myself I thoroughly enjoy both kayaks and canoes and I am having difficulty deciding between the two. Looking forward to all 11 episodes. Cheers!

  • @sakohako Canoes win in Algonquin! Kayaks simply aren't meant to be portaged, unless you're creative or tough! Goodluck!

  • So looking forward to this!

  • Oh man I am ready to dig into this! 11 parts! Thanks Troy. Can't want to hear about your new Souris River canoe. Even better production values than last year.
