  • Not a bad car, but a NA 4 cylinder that needs premium gas? That's outrageous.

  • @adogg619 My Si does too. Annoying.

  • Wow, another stupid consumer who is easily sold on cars base off of Horse Power alone.

  • Just got a 2010 SE-R Spec V a few weeks ago. I love this car. I had a 2008 civic DX before and I actually find the Sentra roomier, even the trunk is huge, so I'm not surprised it's heavier.

  • Honda Civic Si has a 2.0L engine and produces 197hp while the the SE-R Spec V engine is 2.5L and produces 200hp??? I wonder how would it be if the Civi Si would have a 2.5L engine??

  • @eldom20 what about torque numbers? what about power-band? peak power is not everything, sure nissan could have added some extra ponies to the 2.5 liter engine, but they were also thinking on street driving, and response... lets say at 2500RPM its obvious that the sentra will have much more power than the civic. It all depends on the manufacturers approach. You should have thought about this before posting your comment

  • @deadbeat86 i know that torque numbers and power-band also matters, but i was just talking about straight horse power (i know hp isn't always what matters)

  • @deadbeat86 True, the Sentra has a way more torque than the Civic, but horsepower is what sells the car. When car companies & motor magazines publish & advertise a cars performance, they always mention h/p before torque. Horsepower is what catches peoples eyes. Performance wise, in a straight line, its all about h/p. Torque is good for pulling/hauling weight like cargo. As far as racing, I think torque is good for downshifting & coming out of corners, but dont quote me on that.

  • @eldom20 Look at the torque dude. The si only makes 139lbs. The base sentra makes more then that out of a 2.0. The si has an extremely short stroking and high reving engine that is good for hp, but gives it absolutely no tq. The qr25 on the other hand has a long stroke and gives the sentra a very wide power band with 180 lbs and a low rev instead of the si's extremely narrow band that does not start until past 6k.

  • @noyanky44 it's true, bro. hp isn't everything :)

  • @eldom20 I see what u mean about the Si having a smaller engine & producing almost the same h/p as the Spec V. I think Nissan could've gotten more h/p out their engine, but at the cost more fuel being consumed. All I care about is h/p & straight line speed anyways.

  • @noyanky44 Clearly he hasn't driven one man. The Spec-V is strong down low and only gets faster all the way up to redline. VERY fast, very good positive handling car; that is what sold me on buying mine today ;).

  • @eldom20

Nissan always prefer Torque to HP .

Anyway if u have done come tracking u will prefer torque then HP . Coming out of a corner u need torque , a lot of torque .

  • I've own several generation of Sentras, this one is by far the best.

  • i love this car, a lot of people hate so i guess its either a love hate thing. if i was in the market for a low priced sport compact this car would be it. i like the civic si but i love nissan's engines. plus with this car lowered with some performance mods it would be a badass car.

  • Nissan seems to like to make their cars overweight.

  • i personally find the b15(2002-2006) spec v to be a much performance car

  • love this car:D! only the s-er version though!

  • IMO, maybe lowering the rooftop a little would make it look more sporty, but its a nice car though, I like it more than the thing people call Civic si.

  • Such a nice car, love it so much!! wish theres a review for the SE-Rs instead of just SpecV!!! XD

  • I know what you mean,

I got my 2010 SER Base about 3 weeks ago

  • The front end reminds me alot of a cadillac, i dont know much about this car but it seems pretty cool.

  • I got a spec v 2003 stock and i geat all the new one .

  • Comment removed

  • To be honest I wasn't a fan of this design but I've owned the 08 spec v for 6 months now and I am absolutely loving it. I admit it is no race car but for an everyday driver it has the power you need if anything more power and the 6 speed transmission is absolutely awesome. Now I'm trying to find performance parts and shame on nissan for not making anything by nismo yet, at least greddy makes some nice stuff.

  • i agree man, and let me tell u... my mom drives an 07 spec v. and i've raced my dad in his A4, and a new 3 series and won. this car isnt slow for a 4cyld. and my mom gets 27 mpg in the city.

  • You know what, that's funny you said that because I hated the style of the 07' when it first came out but, now I actually think it looks pretty good. That's crazy how that happens. I still think it's a bit too boxy but it looks good enough though.

  • gtr isnt

    370z yes

  • the gtr is nice too...are you a stupid fuck....i mean i would never pay 100k for a nissan but the gtr is a awesome machine

  • ur the stupid fuck who wouldnt pay 100k for a supercar crusher

  • i never said i wouldnt pay for a 100k supercar crusher (if i had it)...i just said i wouldnt pay that much for a nissan

  • its not just any nissan

its a GTR, although it stepped away from its old gtr heritage its still a gtr for that price you wont get a better super car if you woulnd't buy a gtr just cuz its a nissan for 100k im sorry your ignorant

  • lol thats true.

  • Zlaja16, your a pussy if you need a car to get you pussy.

  • hey its always good to have extra pussy dude

  • too bad theres no coupe version .

  • exactly which supercars does it crush? it's a fast car but, supercar crusher? no.

  • yeah seriously Sentra SE-R Spec V or Lamborghini Gallardo hmmmm which one is faster? lol

  • rice

  • Now that I have seen these around more often I have grown more fond of them, but at first not going to lie I thought they looked like a fat midget and a turtle mated...

  • wow still quicker than the hyped genesis turbo

  • I hated the way this car looked for the first few months I saw them. Now I've grown to like the look more, I still don't like the tall roof line & boxier shape but it's not a bad looking car. I still think the 02-03' version looks the best, followed by the 04-06' But everything else is better in the new SE-R which is nice. Good review

  • Beautiful! I have a 2006 and never had a problem! Nissan is extremely reliable and to be honest I must say that Edmunds has always hated Nissan so don't trust them very much.

  • the previous gen is so much better B15 all the way =]

  • no its not... just cause u hav one dosent make it better.

  • dude you must know nothing about it... so yeah

  • about wat man... read any other review out there. go and drive all the compact sedan in this class. i've done that!! this car actually handles better than a lot of its competitors on the track, the (Si for exemple) nissan actually tuned this car's suspensing in Nürburgring, and the car's lead engineerer was responsible for the old skyline R-32. Bet u didnt know that!

And if ur gona actually take a car to its limit on the streets u sould really think twice.

  • what does that have to do about my comment? i autocross and road race.. street racing is for douches and kids

  • Yes but all cars SHOULD handle as good as they are fast. There are better options for a bit more money.

  • Thats true there are better options i have no doubt... but to say that this car dosent handle as good as an Si, GTI,mazdaspeed 3, or even an rx-8, is rubish. put them all together on the track, and u'll see that the difference is inimal... more of a drives preference then anything. But i still think the look issue is the biggest hurtle for nissan with this car tho.

  • @ricerslayer good way to talk about the spec v, i got a 2003 spec v and i like it way more than any other civic SI.

  • @ricerslayer Sweet, got a link. I'd LOVE to read that...I also believe it. This car handles eerily too well and kind of like driving gt5.

  • personally i prefer the 2006 version

  • a little bit too understeery for me... too bad cuz the price really kicks ass.

  • its not like ur gona do wat these guys do on the track in the streets... i think it'll handle fine.

  • it takes premium gas and is geared lower so less gas mileage

the reg se r takes regular gas and isnt geared as low

  • u said it PROgoth121

  • if nissan is making a new 240sx they will need more than 200hp in a rwd. rwd lose too much hp on the transfer to the wheels. so they will need at least 300hp like a 350z. 200hp will only give you 150whp. that is too weak and will not be able to compete with any 200hp FF. for example the new miata has only 170hp rwd It is super weak with a 120whp. it is as fast as or a little faster than a base model civic. that is why most higher performance rwd have load of crank hp at least 300hp and up.

  • if they bring back the 240sx, they would have to kill the altima coupe. to me they should have never made the altima coupe it's FWD, at least make it RWD to show traits of the 240. also they should made the sentra ser a coupe to cut down on weight(it would have looked like the azera concept car) and finally they need to make a new altima ser 4dr or coupe....but hey that just me.

  • This car ROCKS!!!

  • Does it need premium? Cause the Si needs premium. As much as I love this car, I'm gonna stick with the Si. Honda is pro at making I-4s with tons of power and great balance and low weight

  • yes. it needs premium, man i love my Spec V!!!

  • wouldn't it be great if nissan put this engine in a new 250sx(240sx) im hard core rwd or rwd base/awd though. itd also be great if they turbo it and twin turbo the z and g35

  • it would also be great if we had wings to fly to jupiter

  • it does look cheap....like a eco car for families

  • it definatly doesn't look as good as the last one thats for sure

  • Mazda has more problems down the road than Nissan does.

  • haha yeah i guess. Just get a toyota then if you want reliability hahaha. Or a honda hahaha.

  • This Nissan are reliable too. All Nissan's are except for mostly their V8's.

  • what do you mean except for thier v8s did you have bad luck with one the 4.5L last forever i know ppl getting 400k miles there as good as any v8 out there

  • Well, Nissan V8's and Toyota V8's aren't doing real good right now. Dodge is gonna help Nissan build a truck and Nissan is going to help Dodge build an economy car. But then later Toyota will probably come out with something that'll kick the new Titan's ass. I cannot wait for the new Tundra diesel to come out.

Did you know Consumer Reports recommends 100% of Honda's, 96% of Toyota's, and Nissan is somewhere below that. Don't know the exact percentage...

  • there doing bad because the gas prices like any v8 thats why companies like ford are suffering because ford is seperior in v8 but they suck at 4cyl any ways if i was gonna get a fwd id get honda. i4 or v6 rwd nissan and v8 ford or chevy i doubt nissan is dealing with dodge it wouldn't make any since but im not gonna argue it.

  • toyota sucks and is made cheap and arn't the most reliable i think reliablity is honda nissan and then toyota

  • i never knew that an oil pressure guage reads the oil pressure haaha

  • Guys? Simple TUNING factory set up, PUNCHES UP Nissan's pocket-rocket secret! & cops don't "see" me 85MPH all day.

    0-60's 5.97, NOT 6.7.

Why? Official 0-60's LOWBALLED to fool countries TAXing HP. Car MUST make 235HP to move 2997 lbs. that fast.

5.97 sec thru 2nd gear; just pop @7500 & drive it like you stole it.

15000 miles old: 37 MPG in 6th at 55-60 (high test) 28-29.5 around town.

Fill tires 44 pounds all way round. Lateral G's? They'll JUMP to .97-1.02.

    GOT IT?

  • lol what did he think the oil pressure gauge did? Nice car!

  • lol what did he think the oil pressure gauge did?

  • my friends old Spec V has about $800 in mods and he does a 1/4 mile of 14 secs flat. These sentras really screwed everything up. Nissan is gonna have to rework this in the long run you'll see.

  • I wonder how fast the 07 spec would be with some n/a upgrades? Should be quicker then the older ones.

  • My '02 Spec V does 6500 rpm and 14.7 in the 1/4. Only $300 in mods.

    Nissan fucked up big time.

  • Its hideous

  • i would..lol

  • this and the new Si are very close, but the Si handles better, accelerates by a few tenths of a second slower, has less body roll, and not to mention looks better, that and it's a Honda so it'll last alot longer than this car will.

  • actually they compared this to the SI sedan which is slower than the coupe cause the coupe does 0-60 in 6.3 (motortrend website)and the sedan also did it in 6.3 in the same website look it up

  • Well that's only one source. Other articles that I've read of the same test, but different people, pegged the sedan just a few tenths of a second slower than the coupe. It all depends on driver, and different tests are going to produce slightly different results.

  • ya but in road in track the sedan got .2 slower 0-60 than the coupe but o well i think its faster casuse its ligher

  • It's all about personal preference. I personally like the 99-00 body style Si. Not as fast, but definitely the coolest.

  • nice ride but I wouldn't pick it over civic si.
