  • When it comes time to accept or reject the Mark of the Beast, I have to wonder if it will be something like this clip. Will those who have accepted it want to turn me in?

  • Imagine being a Democrat and wake up as a Republican.. whoahahahahaha (just kidding).

  • The invasion of the Euro fascist has arrived. In less then 10 years there is no Dutch, German, Italian or Englishmen left....

  • This is what a Feminist looks like!

  • "invasion of the pony snatchers"

  • this isn't the full ending.

  • @TeslaDRay This is the way it originally ended before the studio tacked on the extra scene to make it less dark. Pretty much everyone agrees it's better this way.

  • what a fuckin movie freaked me out as a kid

  • I am reading the book by Jack Finney.

  • There seems to be some issue in the comments re the people in the cars, blowing him off at the end. I doubt they were already "infected" since a couple of them show emotion (outrage) at the "drunk" standing in the highway screaming. What you have to realize is that this movie is a cold war parable. The drivers of the cars represent those who were blind to threatening events around them, and failed to heed various warnings.

  • Wow! All those wonderful 50's cars driving by, but not one of them was a Hudson!

  • Great movie though in truth I have never seen it :/ I own the 78 version but will buy this. My only complaint would be if it does not end dark like this and it is all a dream which to me from the very end looks like it. If that is the case the 78 version blows this back out onto space. Dark endings for dark movies. Happy endings? Watch a comedy!

  • @clintbronson5 you're wrong about the ending.

  • @bigmarty56 Yeah. I bought this movie last week and watched it 5 times. Kevin McCarthy and the rest of the cast are great. I still did not like this ending (COPS: Go get the other men and check out that truck!) Better to have had Kevin screaming your next on the freeway and fade to black. Again Hollywood could not open it's eyes in the 50's and had to tack on a there is hope ending. McCarthy himself said Don Segal wanted the ending of Kevin on the freeway but executives are well executives

  • 1950's Predictive Programming.

  • the ladly who played becky has jusy died a great sci fi film in its day

  • No special effects, no horrible looking monster. Instead a beautiful woman. Yet that scene when he kisses her is still a scary moment for me!

  • Rest in Peace Dana Wynter, ... Becky in Invasion of the Body Snatchers, who died last Thursday May 6, 2011 in Ojai, CA age 79 ..... What a great movie that is ... I've been watching it since I was a kid .....

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "A moment's sleep and the girl I loved was an in-human enemy bent on my destruction......." I feel you, Miles. Been there myself.

  • @libertatus yeah bro ... me too. what great quote to pull out of the morass.

  • "A moment's sleep and the girl I loved was an in-human enemy bent on my destruction..........." I feel you, Miles. Been there myself.

  • Dana Wynter is stunningly gorgeous in this movie. Every time she faced the camera I was like.......DANG!

  • I didnt really watch this. I mean most of the movie. The people on the highway may have possibly been infected. And do infected people talk and do stuff like real humans?

  • Do you own this movie? By blocking embedding, you have merely ensured that fewer people will see the clip. I was trying to use it, and now I can't.

  • Sorry, I'm not owned the clip, just taken it from other place and to embeded it is banned from Youtube or something like this because I can't do it too. Sorry.

  • Do you own this film? By blocking embedding, it only means that fewer people will see the clip. I was trying to use it and now cannot.

  • Like the Killer Tomatoes, these movies were soooo bad they've become classics. Never knew who that actor was before his death was announced.

  • Rest in Peace, Kevin McCarthy. :(

  • Several years ago, I told friends how I'd seen a truck stuck on the side of the road on the outskirts of Los Angeles, and how men were unloading watermelons, one by one.

This film is so iconic, my friends burst out laughing and beat me to the punchline: "And you thought they were pods taking over L.A., right?"

Rest in peace, Kevin McCarthy. He was a gorgeous man, at every stage of his life.

  • Yes, a big lost. The other versions of the film are not the same without an huge actor like him. His work and all the people in the film created a genre with a new vision of alien invasions imitated by lot of others.

  • And in animation too,
