  • He must've been thinking..."DAMN, I'm Dinner." Lesson from this episode and from the Naked Gun-read the FINE PRINT, buddy.

  • my dad showed this to me and some people from my church during a youth group sleepover... i was confuzzled.

  • omg he was in that movie, too

  • I just needed a breath of Rod Serling after the crap I watched... just awful! Some idiots who don't know what they're doing put up this crazy sh1t where one guy - totally out of shape- is dressed in black spandex w/no cup and is writing on a scribble board. This is so much better.Liked the naked gun intro at the end btw

  • I like how calm everyone else is acting.

  • hes fucked

  • NO 2 FEMA CAMPS NO 2 NDAA NO 2 SOPA NO 2 ACTA GHOST!

  • lol

  • Pretty cool.

  • Hahaha! I love it!

  • I;m hungry

  • The reappearance is beyond great. Now that's humour.

  • OMG! lol! I always wondered where that reference came from in "Naked Gun 2 1/2." It's even more hilarious that it's the same actor makes the reference to that movie!! Thx for sharing that!

  • I knew the reference but i didn't know it was by the same actor! Bravo

  • 0:36 "oh hell no! I'm getting out of here!"

  • WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! he lived? if its a cookbook, how did he not get eaten?

  • @TooCool1993 in the end of the episode he has to eat a bunch of crap so he's fat then they ate him

  • i dig the lady in the background. She's like, "that lady just said it's a cookbook. anyway what time does my flight leave?" lol

  • I finally know the meaning behind that line. Thanks man.

  • this freaked the shit out of me when i was a kid

  • @FearlessHQ Now we are two. So did to me, I still have repetitive dreams about it. It was 38 years ago, and I see it as if it was today, actually I have seen several of those ships, but I don't want to talk about it.

  • @FearlessHQ Freaks the crap out of me still today, and I'm 41. :)

  • @FearlessHQ

    Fuckin' A right it did.

  • So, wait. Is it a cookbook?

  • @Goastfreak yup

  • So if it's "To Serve Man" why are they also taking women ?

  • @MyMerlin1 what a stupid question.

  • Just.like.Jasmine.

  • so they ate him

  • ...and Richard Kiel prior to playing Jaws.

  • Damn, I never noticed that!

  • Did we really need 10 seconds of mystery

  • I love comedy! ^_^

  • I saw this in "Madagascar", only the book said "to serve Lemur" ;)

  • Brought here by Hope n' Change Cartoons!

  • Also, warcraft 3's Troll Witch Doctor says it too :P

  • 29 years later: The man survived! hoooray!!

  • 0:37 has such epic music

  • I imagine on their planet they would probably debate about the ethics of eating humans and just trump it by saying that they're more intelligent and thus have a right to eat mankind. The aliens in this episode were extremly similar to man in relation to other species and shows mankind what it would be like through a different perspective.

  • "And they're tasty too!"

  • That's the same guy, but god damn that's some closure. They didn't eat him after all. :)

  • Very funny, but what is the quote referring to?

  • SKULL ISLAND!!

  • ...and so V begins...

  • She certainty seems worried by the fact that there are aliens ready to eat everyone

  • I saw that episode of the Twilight Zone in the summer, no wonder the "To Serve Man" book felt familiar

  • lol love the wires that help close the chairs to the spaceship, Because aliens who have mastered space travel will still be using wires to their stairs

  • MR.BENOIT.

  • thank you for completely ruining the ending for me. please change title. thank you.

  • Ok ( before I see it or not-based on answer to my question) , can anyone tell me if the guy actually gets served as a meal.

  • @lulumariemissypu

since this is all spoiled anyway: nope, you don't get to see him getting served.

  • @alladinsane80 Lol thanks :)

  • @lulumariemissypu it ends with a narration on the part of the actor, which gives the impression that he is locked up until he is "served"

  • watch the video: area 51 without pants

  • its a cooook boooook!!!

  • madagascar did this joke too!

  • That's why I bought the entire boxed set of 'To Serve Nigglets'!

  • WAIT thats the same GUY!? OMFG THE SAME guy in both clips

  • Also at least he survived being cooked XD

  • Ahh, now I get the Troll witchdoctor's line in Warcraft...

  • There's also a spoof on Madagascar when one of the lemurs holds up a book that says, 'To Serve Lemur' and yells, "IT'S A COOKBOOK!"

  • Why didn't he just jump off side? He had clearance... Pfffft... F'ING actors

  • I really don't get the point of this video but both are great.

  • Im guessing the guy escaped the ship :D

  • @bigo3293 No he didn't, that was the ending

  • Naked Gun and Twilight Zone. My life is complete!

  • According to real life cannibals, human meat tastes like ordinary pork. There are plenty of tasty dishes awaiting man's future!

  • @WinterHaven I heard it tastes like sugary beef or pork... I sound delicious! :D

  • Oh, you should find the other cool and obscure reference and add it to this clip: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, season...6 or 7, can't remember. Buffy is trying to warn her little sister about the evil high school. Little sister is backing away from her saying, "I know! You never know what's coming, the stake is not the power, To Serve Man is a cookbook, I love you! Go away!"

  • @rodanvideo oh

  • @rodanvideo DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it was a cookbook not u

  • @vincentdebroglie Why did you remove your comment, "6 peoples don't get it "?

  • Why do all the parodies say dhe's screaming it?

  • @Manateecutie Same reason they always say Captain Kirk said, "Beam me up, Scotty".

  • THEY FORGOT THE SIMPSONS >:l

  • now i get it!

  • If you don't get it is because you have to see the whole episode. The Aliens cured all disease, Famine, and all ills of the human race not to help, but so they could use humans for food! Mr Chambers was tasked to translate the "To serve man" book the aliens brought as a "Gift" to humanity. Unfortunatly he was biased towards the aliens and thought they were here to help. Before he finished translating the book he already had planned to go to the Alien planet, which is what the last scene showed

  • IT'S A COOKBOOK!!! IT'S A COOKBOOK!!! lol XD love that scene from naked gun

  • I got it in the movie because I was familiar with the Twilight Zone episode. But I didn't know it was the same actor. Now, THAT'S attention to detail! :-)

  • I love that part in Naked Gun, it just comes out of now where

  • I like how the Pilot guy standing next to the stairs of the UFO, when she says "It's a Cookbook" he just slides off to the side and he's out!

  • hahahahaha

  • Madagascar paid tribute to this

  • I love when he panicked, none of the extras reacted.

  • oooooh, now i get it

  • You know, I've seen pop refrences to this all the time and even though I understood what they were talking about, I never actually seen the Twilight episode it originated from. Thanks for that! Hee hee hee!

  • oh man! I totally never got that joke until now

  • I missed that when I first saw it. Hilarious. I have to watch the Naked Gun series once again.

  • @dizkoteck

    LOL

  • The Simpsons did a show also and it was funnier than Naked gun. The one with the space dust

  • Now i get it! I always thought this scene from naked gun to be really hilarious, but never knew the true meaning behind it.

  • lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was so funny i never noticed that reference before. and this is my favorite episode of the twilight zone.

  • Its a cookbook, cookbook! <- I saw movie with WoW Troll saying it, could someone link it here please?

  • lol twilight zone refrence....

  • haha i watched naked gun last night and never got that refrence before damn i watched twilight zone since i was a boy im dumb

  • wow.... I've seen Naked Gun 2 and a half many times, but never got the reference until tonight.

  • now i get it its a cookbook

  • I love how they used this line in Warcraft 3 xD

  • "Every Alien Needs a Little KFH* ;-)

    *Kanamit Fried Humans

  • This is in Madagascar too, and NOW I GET IT.

  • That's great!

  • The stock footage of the saucer in flight is from "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers." The life-size spaceship mockup with the retractable stairway was a prop from "Forbidden Planet." Stuff from "Forbidden Planet" was used in at least 20 TZ episodes.

But you already knew that, didn't you?

  • Also, on "Married with Children", when Al Bundy is being chased by Peg's relatives, in Wanker County, he shouts, "Peg, 'To Serve Man'...it's a cookbook!"

  • I either missed the part from Naked Gun 2 1/2, or never knew it was the same actor. This is very funny, indeed!

  • The last part was funny is hell!!!!

  • the ending was absolutely brilliant

  • Lloyd Bochner was the man. Great character actor with a very distinctive voice.

  • They mention To serve man in the first Madagascar movie, that's were I first heard of this.

  • Without a video like this, how many people do you think will have discovered a 29-old joke being reused? I sure wouldn't.

  • 'Without a vid like this, how many people would have discovered a 29 yr old joke being used? I sure wouldnt'...Honestly? Your loss, man...I laughed my ASS OFF at that line in 'Naked Gun 2 1/2', I guess you have to be over 30 to know the classic 'Zone' reference...;)

  • Haha I've never noticed that joke in The Naked Gun.

  • I noticed it, but I finally GOT it!...

  • Thank you for this, wow NOOOOW I get it...The reference seems almost impossible to understand by itself

  • haha....i havent seen either of thse movies, but i have heard about it, and i find that scene to be hilarious!!!!!

  • haha its the same fucken actor. Those Naked Gun guys are lunatics. God bless them.

  • Just to add to the Twilight Zone/ Naked Gun confusion, there was a Simpson's episode based on the same premise. In the first Simpson's Halloween/ tree house of horror Bart tells of aliens who kidnap them, with a suspiciously similar cookbook.

The tale goes on to show that not all aliens are flesh eating monsters, and not all cookbooks are Kosher!

  • Yes. It was called "How to cook humans." Lisa discovered it. Some space dust removed revealed it was "How to cook for humans." A little more space dust removed revealed "How to cook forty humans." Finally, the last bit of dust was blown away and it said "How to cook for forty humans."

  • I rememeber when I saw Naked Gun 2 1/2 in theaters. I think I was the only one who laughed at that scene.

  • same here

  • when my parents rented it at when I was 12 or 13, Dad and I laughed at it, everyone else was oblivious. Didn't get that it was the same actor though.

  • I just got it years after watching the movie for the first time.

I dont think a lot of people got it.

    Its very funny indeed...

  • A COOK BOOK!!!AAAAHHH!!!

  • why can't someone put the whole episode on?

  • The purpose of my clip is to show a "spoof" of the "cookbook" in another movie, not to pirate an episode. Hopefully, clip-viewers will "get" the humor.

Why, you ask? - Oh, there are copyright infringement issues, royalties, violation of youtube policy, etc. Watch SciFi channel, or rent a DVD, or borrow from a library, or purchase the DVDs if you'd like to see the episodes in their entirety.

I may sound a bit "bitchy" but I'm really NOT... HONEST... There is just not a good way to explain this.

  • hahahaha! that was good! well done!!

  • JAJAJAJAJAAJAJAJA! EXCELLENT!

  • Very well done!

  • Not sure if you guys know this but the guy holding the "To Serve Man" cookbook in Naked Gun 2 1/2 is Mr. Chambers from the Twilight Zone episode.

  • Well, I hope that everybody "gets it," because THAT'S the whole point of my edit-job!

I wrote in the description that Lloyd Bochner was the actor in both. I guess that viewers read the descriptions some of the time, at least I hope so.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DUUUHHHH !!!

  • No.. I think DOUBLE DUUUHHHH is more appropriate! ;-}

  • Another crossover occured in Ace Ventura when Jim Carrey's character paraphrased William Shatner from the "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" episode.

  • I don't remember that scene...what was the context?

For that matter, the Simpsons have also parodied Nightmare at 20k feet with their own "Nightmare at 5 and 1/2 feet."

  • Aliens visit earth and they promise to solve all the problems with the Earth (famine, wars, etc.) They have a book called 'To Serve Man' - ironically it's a cookbook.

    Does that help?

  • This was also done in Coming to America when Eddie Murphy's character gives his money to 2 homeless vagrants, which happen to be the exact people he and Dan Hemorrhoid's character put in the poorhouse.

  • I appreciate you doing this so thanks, as I was born to late to see the twilight zone and after rewatching The Naked Gun 2 1/2 last night I still didn't get the joke, now I do so thankyou for combining these. Also that cheesy music when she tells him was brilliant.

  • AT LAST - someone understands why I put this clip together! Not only is the cheesy music brilliant.. but so are YOU! I enjoy great humor where a joke is set-up, then the punch line comes later... but 29 YEARS later must be the all-time record.

  • Its very funny, Juar, juar, juar, juar!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this! Love it! I always reference this TZ episode, and only the cool people get it. Go VEGAN!

  • The purpose of this clip is not to comment on Twilight Zone. We all agree that it was wonderful. This video shows a "gag" in a movie 29 years later.

  • I love The Twilight Zone, thanks for posting...Zander
