  • Thank you for the video on nepal

  • hey u have such a real heart plz i wana talk to u on phone plz give me a call.00923003830143

  • its all true really nice

  • l love nepal and the people, im going to live there, this year...

  • so inspiring :]

    proud to be nepali ..!

  • Hey I loved your enthusiasm, vision and character. You have a pure heart yet please get your facts right otherwise it will look like yet another student from a rich country using Nepal as a quick excuse for a nice grade and credit. I am in the US Army infantry but Im from Nepal. REALITY is our KING was never repressive but a true patriot that left his throne of power to avoid more bloodshed. He sacrificed his throne to save lives, same cant be said for any of these leaders. anyways goodluck.

  • @gorkhalidai1 WOW shocked to see ur comment mate, so are u saying that our ex King mr gynandra was not suppressive. The one who killed his own brother and become a king, the one who took all the powers in his hand from the ppl. Some of our leaders might be bad but our ex king was not good either. I ber 90 % of nepalese didnt even accept him as a king.

  • @rupeshshoaib brother note.......king gaveup his throne and power to avoid more bloodshed ............your not so bad leaders and so called peoples representation 90%......came to power after murdering 20 thousand + ........Nepali people...............You can argue on and on....but bro...millions of Nepalese make their decision on their stomach's fullness ...........we few lucky ones dare judge others just because we can.....sorry brother...but the truth you know deep inside.....i am right

  • @gorkhalidai1

Indian historian Dr. G. P Singh wrote " Kiratis rule the himalayas region from nepal and NE India. the whole himalayas region was then known as Kiratdesh as mentioned in ancient texts. but kiratas used to go down into the plains of india for trade, businesses and cultural exchange. during kirat rule, nepal was peaceful and prospering. that's why many people from different regions migrated into nepal. Lord buddha visited kathmandu valley when 7th kirati king was at the throne."

  • @diliprai whats your problem Dilip? Kirat kirat kirat bhanera you are ruining our heritage of being the most friendliest yet the bravest Nepalese the Kirats....your hypocrite mentality makes me sad to call my self Kirat....it is because of people like you our country is suffering.....we are all nepali...if you degrade others they will do the same to you...so where is this peace you PRAISE about? ko tholo ko sano......HAMI SAB EK HAU....NEPALI...dont ruin this more or there will be no NEPAL..

  • @gorkhalidai1 today it is not proud to be nepali. this video is the living proof. just look the state of nepal today. who to blame?? answer blame hindu rulers and his administration. except kirat, all other rulers(licchavis+thakuri+malla+rana+shah) were hindus. so you see nepal legal and Constitution law was based on the hindu doctrines and ideology. all these hindu rulers did not have vision to develop nepal. these hindu rulers only care to maintain good relationship with india.

  • @diliprai and why did our kirat leaders fail in the first place? can you answer me. why are you so hung up in the past brother? why? if you hate other Nepali brothers and sisters who are not of Kirat origin then you are looking for BLOODSHED and civil war, you think other ethnic races will sit quietly when you disrespect them? Nepal was a developing asian country until king Birendra gave power to the people , thats when nepal started to decline, corruption from everyone, dont just blame others

  • @gorkhalidai1 you said "Kiratas are the most friendliest yet bravest Nepalese". I agree with you on this because this is all due to Kirati culture and religion.

watch this documentary ---> KIRATISM: The Ten Kirat Commandments "Mati ko Kasam" (Promise of the Land)

Kirati religion call Kiratism is the original religion of Nepal. It is so basics and simple and it teaches about being humble and how to live life. Nepalese must explore Kiratism and stay away from Hinduism and Christianity.

  • @diliprai hera bro.what is your solution ? Nepal has 80% hard lined devoted Hindu who also practice Buddhism...LIKE ME..its been centuries and centuries of history culture and tradition.it was the pride of Nepal how all the different races co existed together...its true some were unfair but what is your solution? ke entire population lai force garera dictatorship garne?because I know for sure you cannot change the majority, its too late bro, why cant you say we are all NEPALI noone is upper cast

  • @diliprai kukkuur ko puchhar barah basrsa dhungro ma rakhe pani bango huncha bhane aaja true bhayo ta jasto bhusiya haru le hamro kirat jaat lai kalank garchhas......your poor backward racists mentality will always do more harm not good bujhis........people like you are the reason why i love my job as a soldier...it will feel good to for me if we meet....i will give you such a beating because you are ruining our kirat bansa. mati ko kasam talai bhete bhane chhadina, yo gurung ko kasam...randi

  • @gorkhalidai1 my friend it's no use shouting without reason or justification.

plz watch this video first ---> Born Polluted - Nepal

i am not even kirati in the first place. i am from dalit community. but i convert to kiratism. that's where i found peace. i am glad that i embraced kirati religion whom lord shiva was from. i am glad that kiratism do not discriminate my people. so plz watch the video and what do you think?

  • @diliprai please brother you are the most confused person I have ever met..I am sorry I said some bad stuff BUT brother to unify a country and people you gotta get past these GROUP ETHNIC mentality and so on..I have watched all the videos you have recommended.I liked them, they make a lot of sense YET Im still NEPALI FIRST.I am a strong supporter of banning the caste system in Nepal, You are a good person, you need better guidance, our generation should be the one to eliminate caste system.

  • I almost cried watching this. Videos like these from Nepal brings utter joy to me and I salute you Sarah for doing this. Your narration was very strong and full of meaningful thoughts to ponder upon. We are poor at materialism but extremely rich in our hearts. I wish I could give you a bigg hugg for this wonderful video.

    Regards

    Bipin

    Maryland

  • @bipin00 The root cause of Nepal problem is Nepali government. Nepali has been ruled by Hindu Brahmin-Chettris since the formation of modern Nepal by Hindu King P.N Shah in the late 17th century. Hindu rulers and his administrative ruled the country with discrimination and caste system. The Brahmin minister in engaged corruption instead of developing Nepal.

watch this news --> Chiranjibi Wagle sent to jail

as more and more brahmin-chettri ministers are being sent to jail today.

  • ya ya fuckers u must be 1 of those gyz helping out there in nepal with her documentry shit so fuck ur ass u lil cunt pussy motherfucker nd dont try replying back again ... yaya homo....

  • @Suckto1 ooo u suck xd relly after all this stuff u have to grow up and u r human so u r mean

  • namaste

  • Their wealth of natural resources causes many people to be farmers? How about: Their fertile soils facilitate agriculture. Your video reeks of parroting and insincerity. Your message is so generic. I'm tired of these 'in-depth' scholastic documentaries. I'm tired of hearing about people without the stuff we have are happier. In more cases than not, your moral does not apply. And at least try not to call it CAT - MAN - DO or NAM - ASS - TE.

  • wow, this really brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much. Makes one really appreciate the life they're living.

  • i wish i was born in nepal instead of the U.S.

now im a nepali american teen who cant even speak nepali anymore o.o

  • Fuck up stop making documentary of Nepal all u do is talk nothing gona change nd the thing u are doing is just for money all knows that u get paid so stop using another countries name and making money I am nepali nd i fell sorry how innocent we people are. it just sucks when i see my contry name in this kind of stuff and is being used for which it should not be.

  • @Suckto1

this is really rude. the intent of the video is to help open the eyes of youths who are in misery even when they have so much more worldly objects. i am a proud NEPALI and would like to thank sarah and best wishes for all the people to open up their heart with genuine compassion toward others. namaste

  • @Suckto1 be Optimistic and accept the reality. Appreciate and follow the great work done By these people. Sarah and her group have done great job!

  • this is really great video thanks

  • Thanks For the Wonderful video. And Thanks for spreading few words about my mother land Nepal to other foreign country.

  • The root cause of Nepal problem is Hindu government. The Hindu King and his government had ruled Nepal for last 240+ years with discrimination, suppression and corruption. The Hindu government did not include the indigenous Nepalese in running of Nepal. All the government and public administration post in Nepal were only held by 2 group - brahmin and chettris.

  • Too much knowledge is dangerous for humanity . It's destroying me. I was born in bahrabise, sindhupalchowk , a village in Nepal ,. Nepal is full of life. They've seen all elements of life. They are happy . And I am lying. This whole system of society is a mistake ,

  • I checked the CIA Factbook, Nepal is really diverse.

  • i really want to do something for my country but dun have any idea how n which way should i start from .

  • Good documentary..your words carry some good truth about humanity..

  • so true....... and happiiness is not about materialism ..... good video.....

  • aw this is smth i;'ve always been longin to do..explore every corners n truths of my NEPAL

  • commercialization of societies is what I think Nepal doesnot need, we know poverty is there , I think we are lucky ones of the few citizens in the world who live so close to nature, our earth and We are working hard to survive in dollar, pound driven world economy.

By the way, Nepal is one of the most beautiful places in the world, I was born here in Nepal. It is always a first world for me no matter whereever i go.

  • i couldn't leave without thanking Sarah for bringing the world's attention to Nepal. We have lots of things to share with the World.

  • yeah Nepal needs practical fusion of western developement( not the rugged individualism) and well known hospitality of Nepal. Not just words-it needs downto earth practical implication. Most Importantly, It's Immediate need is quality education and development with human values at highest.

  • this made my day. thank you very much.. i promise i will go back and help out when things go well for me.

  • @nepal76 see this is what u should not be doing.... if it goes good for me then blah blah blah....

  • It really is touching not just being Nepalese. A good short movie. Tells so many things in so little time. Good Job Sarah.

  • So Touching Video..Dam...If i had money i would donate the maximum amount mentioned here.. It went deep in my heart...

  • Great Job Saraha!!! Really love ur video!!! You have given a very true picture of Nepal, not only physical but the the spritual aspect related to it!!

  • ...it's really heart touching and in my NEPAL we have have got lots of love and respect..

  • nice job. Dhanyabad :)

  • really sensational video and glad you liked nepal as it is :)

  • if u are teen and u went there to study the life syle of nepal, then i really appreciate you..

really nepal is a hidden country and no body knows nepalese people nothing more then mount everest and goutam budhha.

and you went there to make a documentry and study of lifesyle of nepal.

actually nepal is a 3rd world country and you make us feel that nepal is still there where USA was before hundred years before...

    thanks sarah

  • @laxmimohan well said ..i live in a foreign country and when ever they ask me i am proud to say i am from NEPAL...everyone when i say I am from Nepal they say ohh..mount everest ..i feel proud in a way atleast they heard of nepal ...but thats it ..they dont knw even a bit of our culture our living ... or anything else other than mount everest .....its sad .....nepal is much more than what our GDP shows ...much much more ..if there wasnt any voilence everyone will fall in love

  • @reshre8 :--- thanks anyway for ur comments...actually there are few american and foreigners who are really interested about nepalese culture...i know a lady from US who is doing pHD in Dohori song...isnit funny or silly only for nepalese but she is doing really doing a proud job for nepalese peole......only few are there

  • just wondrng ..(i.e. if m nt being paranoid)..r u tryin to patronize us or just inheriting hypocricy dats been runnig thru ur blood stream since ages..before making that bold statement on monarchy repressive system..i guess u should luk in2 ur own political system da'ts literally creating chaos around the globe in every aspect..dont u think smethngs not rite wid narration..c mentions only 1 gud thing bout us n criticize bout our poverty against their lifestyle..if c really feel PLS TKE ACTION

  • Namaste at first to you and Thanx a lot for your timing to Nepal.

But, I swear that Nepal is such a Extra-ordinary place in this world.

Though, the sad thing is that , it is really Poor and we all need to Help Nepal to make it a better place.

  • hi frn..! my name is suman, im from nepal but im currently livin in uk for past 3 yrs . ur vedio stoped me to say some thing inreturn.. we all neplese been livin in nepal fo all our life and even we wouldnt hav fractionise the meenings that u did the word nameste to me was just like just a word to greet my elds or guest but when u explained the real meanin it constantly knoced my brain and now i know the real meanin behind it/ thank u fo so much from all neplese. bles u.

  • This video make me love my Country More.

  • i'll go back.....to mix with my men, to see my women laugh, to build a nation...to where I belong.

  • I respect for the amount of time and energy you have spend in producing this incredible video. Most of the things you have said in the video is very true. The country United States provides so much to its citizens that many people this generation feels has nothing offer to this country and therefore just waste the wealth and resources that the government provide them.

  • 'I bow to the...yadda yadda ya'

funny I've never before heard of that explanation.

  • That is for close to 200 years, among the 37 chiefs of staff, 26 came from the Rana family and the remaining 11 from the Thapa, Shah and Basnet clans who are all Hindu Brahmin and Chettri. The other group especially the indigenous people of Mongoloid ethnicity were never given equal opportunities in running of Nepal.

So before you speak why Nepal is what is today, ponder yourself and study the Nepal history first.

    Thanks

  • Blame India for all the social problems in Nepal.

  • @diliprai Yes blame India, blame politician, blame ignorance, blame poverty, blame everyone, and when you will run out of things to blame, my friend you will blame yourself. In the 60's the foreign aids from US to Nepal was substantially scaled back because of lack of its effectiveness. Another fact, Nepal gets the most foreign aid per capita in the whole of South Asia region, we couldn't make use of that. Now my friend you will blame the politicians, stop the blaming game, ACT.

  • @dudekaus watch this video "Comedy Show Jay Hind! From Nepal Without Love"

    and

"India displacing Nepalese from their own land"

now you tell me why is India always disrespecting Nepal and the Nepalese.

Indian also claims Buddha born in India and Mt. Everest is in India.

  • I've got many friends from Nepal and have heard many terrible stories about the Maoists. I don't like the Communists in my country, but at least they aren't doing the awful things I hear about in Nepal, especially in the more rural areas.

  • love this vdo with ur sweet voice n those lovely word..

i strongly agree wat u say about nepal.

    :)

  • Not only about the poorness, living life or sharing feelings... its about searching the real life, we can not be happy even though we have everything......... its good that we(the people in Nepal) do not have everything, so that we can say its fine to be poor, to be jobless, to live in the third world, but the world can learn the meaning of greeting to the life, being happy with nothing......

you reached the place, learned a lot, saw the life,,,,,

    wishesss

  • that was nice...^^

  • hey thanx for this i loved it alot being a nepali is hard so most of leave the country ..... but keep doing it

  • great video and so true... i have experienced both parts of the world as well

  • I lov wat you tried to do n I really appreciate ur effort tryin to show that there is more to life than the attractions of the material world.Dnt get me wrong bt in this effort u hav said a few things which wud mslead the viewers, which r "the least developd" n "people earn less than $1" which is not true!U cud hav checkd the stats n hav been careful with words.I am a Nepali and an undergrad student in US n I kno xactly wat stereotypical views this gives to the western world about us Nepalese!!!

  • dude im a nepali...nd we are poor...one of the poorest in the world...and for the purposes of this video...it is totally correct....she knows tht not all of us earn less than a $ a day

  • @cnara29 true the average Nepali do not make $1 a day, but its about $3 or $5 depending on whether you bring purchasing power parity in the calculation of GDP. But Sarah was making a good argument about the 'misleading' values of the American highly driven by media. I think she does a good job, you should understand that you have lived in Nepal for 20 years and she most probably for a month. Her lenses via. which she sees Nepal are entirely different than yours.

  • first of all i wanna thank u 4 keeping this vdeo in youtube....its so true.....whatever u said......really awesome vdeo...

  • A really moving story. I'm inspired by your work!

  • hey Sarah!!! Are you one of the cast in Namaste Nepal?

  • description of Namaste...gave me goose bumps.....She knws lot more than me!!!! what a shame!!!

  • great work, keep up the reflection and focus, ur on the correct track with good research!!! what many nepalis forget is the countryside...u highlight it!!!

  • mrs Sarah r. miller i dont know who u were till yesterday but since today ur name will be the one which i ll always remember even if i forget my breathe.i have no idea how to thank u for this indescribably beautiful work.........the words in the latest dictioney arent worthy enough to praise ur work.....being an american u r so concern abt the teens of ur country and u have got so respect for others.......thanx again to u and ur entire team..

  • i am from nepal recently immigrated here to US and i deeply agree with your words that life is very different and hard there, i know because i lived it and I urge each one reading this to be thankful for what you have and live your life to the fullest.

I AM A NEPALI AND I THANK YOU!

  • Nice Work !!

  • Certain things here are pretty darn stupid..Sarah, did you do any research at all? You said, half the people don't have jobs and those that are lucky to find one earn less than a dollar per day? Do your fucking research before portraying Nepal as 1000 times poorer and miserable looking than what it is. Its true that westerners take third world countries as a way to justify their fucked up money whore societies.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, if you watch the video carefully, she says MAJORITY of the people do not have a job at (4:42)min to be precise. She does not quote half of the people at all!

It is high time we Nepalese stop pointing fingers at others and appreciate the international effort made by other countries to bridge the gap instead. Sarahs video does portray the grim reality of Nepal but what about the message she is trying to convey? Arent we ultimately the global citizens of this world?

  • @RagavM well the unemployment rate is 46% in 2008, so its almost half the Nepal. And with all those 'fucking' words are you trying to say that no we don't make $1 a day but $4. Dude get the point, $1 or $4, it extremely low. And yes one thing is Nepal is not technically a 'Third world country,' but the distinction between third world and developing country almost blurred, which a student of political economy would tell you, there are significant differences. Learn to love and respect, not hate.

  • You girl, live in the paradise! But it is good that you knew the real world of most people in this world.

  • Hey thanks...your words has touch my heart...

  • Hi Sarah. I am now in your country for study though I am a Nepali. Thanks for making the documentary about the situation of Nepal. Yes, the problems are still there, no more improving. You also show your warm sympathy to Nepalese People. Do you have any plan in future to do something for these rural poors?/? If so, that would be great. Anyway, I like to thank you again for your work.

  • @MrRijal1234 I love it. She is a high school girl, I am guess you are undergrad or grad student. Ask yourself who has the better capacity to understand and solve the problems in Nepal, yes Sarah can help, no question but will you join hands with her? You should instead ask, "Sarah, how can I help you?" Please think, if my argument makes sense at all...

  • @dudekaus Nepal became one of the poorest counties because the Hindu shah-rana government discriminated the indigenous communities. The shah-rana rulers made Nepal as a tool for making money for them but not for the nation. For example according to Deepak Bhatt of Combat Law, the top position of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) remained with only four clans.

  • @diliprai yes I am aware of my history, I do not say I know it all. I know the cruel act of India, A commonly accepted definition of politics is the struggle for power, and power corrupts people. But has the Indians tied your hand? Can't you go back to Nepal and teach, help, give, contribute? Can you not get stuck in history and think of today as a brand New day? My Rana friend thinks the way his forefather misguide the nation is wrong, but lets bring change at our own level. Can't we?

  • thanku ^^

  • it really touched my heart. great job...

i am NEPALI AND I AM PROUD TO BE ONE

  • heart touching

  • Amazin wrk..me bein a 17 yr old away frm nepal..Miss my Country the most..nd I'm proud to say I'm a Nepalese And Belong To NEPAL!!

  • proud of my country and proud to be a Nepali...thnks 4 sharing this little piece abt our country

  • Lastly, instead of thanking Sarah for making this video and saying all these cute littlle words, start thinking about how u can make a difference back home. I have always felt that for westerners, going to a third world country is a way to feel better about themselves...its like having a double check about the awesomeness of their commercialized, money driven society. My goal is to eventually go back home one day and build schools in villages. Education takes you places in life.

  • @shangrila628 whoever you are, you have good things to say, like most Nepalese I meet in the west. They all care, they all want change, but with the fourth most brain drained nation, all i have heard is empty promises of change. Me and my friend are going Nepal this summer to build a school in Gorkha this summer, if you really mean what you say, I invite you to join us, put our energies together and give back. I challenge you to act, are you willing to be the force of change that you want?

  • @dudekaus To be able to help others, we need to stand on our own two feet first, I am still an undergraduate trying to make myself a future, I am sure you guys have waited for the right time to carry out this venture of building school in Gorkha, That is a commendable effort. I really wish you all success! But be assured that I am not a person of empty promises and hopes, I am just a young aspirer who is very willing to make a contribution when the time is right.

    Good luck again.

  • @shangrila628 Hope you will prove your words...

  • It just burns my heart and brings tears to my eyes. I was so much more fortunate than the most nepali people for what I had. The people living in the city don't have any idea about how hard life is for the villagers in Nepal. There is so much decentralized development, complete difference in lifestyle from one town to next. Fuck the Nepali government for turning this shangrila into a war and poverty stricken zone.

  • Great narrarationo and very touching video...keep up the good work...

  • great work ... and great narration ...

  • in FACT it's very touching. Thnx again.

  • BEAUTIFUL WORK

    THNX A LOT

  • great job sarah

  • Excellent compilation and research Sarah!

You have truly captured the essence of life which is very important for everyone to understand that we are all global citizens.

Everyday we take life for granted and fail to see the beauty of humanity.

Thank you so much for making my country and example to the rest of the world.

    Dhanyawaad! (Thank you)

  • oh sarah u made me cry.

  • Dear Sarah, THIS IS A NICE JOB, THAT U DID. I WAS DEAD STRUCK BY YOUR NARRATION..in fact ppl don't even know the neighbour in the next room in the same apartment in developed world, there is this growing dissatisfaction and frustration due to lack of connection, support and common goal among human in the developed, capitalist and materialist world which if changed can be heaven.. it's nice to know that some ppl like you have realized yourself which i too aspire to do...

  • Good job, young lady. You are moving in right direction. Keep doing that!

    Namaste from Latvia :-).

  • well ! well !! well !!! how many of we nepalese what the word NAMASTE really means....honestly speaking I didn't know till i watched this video

  • i knew it. ehehe.. but I know what you are saying.

  • watch the video-->" namaste(greetings) from nepal" and you know more about nepal.

  • @anoozp yes...if you look it up in scriptures it is loosely translated to "I salute to your divinity," its amazing, isn't it and we take it for granted.

  • An inspiring video for all i know, i wish somebody would have done this earlier, the video not only responds on the needs that the nepali people lack but also the reality that we have to face everyday,

  • wow, great work. Nice comparison of two societies. Thanks for the hard work.

  • Well done you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!

    keep up your good work..

  • Wow! I'd never thought Sarah- a American girl would do such a great job. Being Nepali I was eager to go USA since my childhood. Now, I'm in USA. As I think of my country I always like to do something. That's why I'm here in USA. I bow to you Sarah. Namaste!

  • great video!!

  • that is how it is in Nepal.....nice work...

  • Every time i watch this video ..It brings a smile to my face because i can see how much you understand people from a different society or place.

I am a nepalese girl living here in the US for almost 6 years and everytime i go back i never want to come back here..It's not because i don't like US it"s because i just wish people could

  • excellent workk

  • i agree with what you say..i'm from nepal and came to US 4 yrs ago and the only thing i've learned is " they also deserve not to be crushed by the stress of commercialism, corporate greed and constant pressure to get ahead without time for themselves and family".."key to happiness is not the next new shiny toy. its giving to and connecting with people and other culture....having time to breath with the people you love"

i love you for saying that and good job!!!

  • This was so touching and so professional. Sarah, thank you for making such an insightful video about Nepal. I was born in Nepal but I was raised in the US. It's great to see someone so young take such a vested interest in helping others who are much less fortunate.

  • such a heart-touching presentation yet immensely professional for such a young age ..We will be reposting your work on our blog with a lot of thanks and appreciation..

    Great Job Sarah!!

  • Good work..nice..Thnaks for comming nepal.

  • Sarah, I very deeply touched by your video... it really suprises me how young you are, but still know so mch. I am glad u got a chance to visit our country Nepal.

Dhanyabad (Thank you) for the video :)

  • Namaste everyone

A heart touching video. Loved every second of it. Well Nepal is beautiful from the heart of the people that resides within the darkness of the himalayn kingdom.

    Dhanyabad . Jai nepal

  • Namaste Sarah,

    God bless you!!!!!!

  • amazing work..... i beleive this country is so driven by capitalism that people can hardly think outside the box. i only hope if everyone could just experience the culture the lifestyle 'n see the real picture once, inspite of the economic hardship 'n life itself how they manage to stay content 'n graceful with a smile on their face , mabye ppl here in the so called devoloped countries especially the new generation would better appreciate the life 'n ppl around them. ur work is a step towards it

Thank you so much for sharing this beautifully, well-crafted, poignant and heartwarming documentary with us.

I have spent some time in Nepal myself, and grew to love the country and its people very quickly.

You have captured the true essence of the beautiful Nepali people and I love how you draw comparisons in an enlightening way between developed and developing countries.
