  • I searched for ''Cleavage'' and this came up..

  • I love the "and the castrated ones..." part :)

  • Regina is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

  • I used to HATE this song (which is rare for a Regina song for me) but now it's one of my favorite of hers. I love the story it tells, you know?

  • i wanna marry her

  • I love the variation in her performances. She'll sing the same song and put a different spin on it every time. Her studio versions are amazing, but you haven't heard Regina until you've heard her live recordings.

  • "i did feel like comin' but i also felt like cryin' and it doesn't seem so worth it right now"

    -my life.

  • 2min 15sec, you really can't argue with such vocal perfection...that is the soul singing.

  • i miss u baby sometimes!

  • I think the reference to castration is meant to represent the way men are often chastised even for just looking. There are a lot of songs about how tough women have it, and so it's nice that this song is out there about how men suffer in their own way too. As a lesbian, the only thing I relate to in this song is the feeling of being surrounded by gorgeous women, but knowing most of them are wanting men. :(

  • @KornEvanFan24 That could be true, but I always thought the "castrated ones" were men who have gotten beaten down so bad they are shell shocked and don't even try to reach out anymore. When they see a beautiful woman, they feel angry and her "skin makes them sick in the night". I don't know, just my take on it.

  • The lyrics sound like something out of a lousy rap song, but she makes it sound good. xD

  • There will never be another like her... a treasure in her own time.

  • Yeah !! i like Boobies!!!

  • The way she sings "rise" is so gorgeous. But I can't help the fact that "bulges" makes me a bit uncomfortable. Either way Regina could sit up there and burp for 3 minutes and it would be my new favorite song.

  • i've realised whenever she starts singing "cleavage, cleavage, cleavage", the audience starts to laugh, like in every single live show of hers.

  • Cleavage! Cleavage! Cleavage!

  • This is wonderful. I love this song.

Does anyone else wish they were that microphone??

  • Haha!!!!

  • the man that regina will marry is probably the luckiest man alive!

  • i agree!

  • @atatski1 probably? ; )

  • those people walking past in the background --- HOW CAN THEY WALK AWAY FROM REGINA ?!

my life will not be complete until i see her live.

  • @emilyunderscoremarie seeing her in a month and a half :D :D :D

  • What a lovely summer concert...

a place I want to be right now, in cold winter....

  • god, she is the most amazing person in the world...

    i love Regina deeply

  • agreed. epitome of sweet.

  • well, another time this woman gave me goosebumps. i want summer... now. <3

  • She's a fairy...

  • I love her.

  • 1:31 extremecedor.

  • the most amazing person on the planet!!!

RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL!!!i cannot wait!!!

  • I don't believe this song is from a female point of view, simply because it sounds too male.

If it were a female POV I don't think the woman would be able to understand the other guys mind's (the ones that want to feel the bulges in their pants start to rise)

I know, hah, it's all babble:) What do I know, right?

    Peace people<3

  • hmm i agree with you on that one actually.

Its true that many of her songs are like little stories and fables that come from her head.

You feel like sitting on her brain for a couple of hours, just to see what its like:)

  • @milkshakeisgood1 I can't see an reason it couldn't be from a female point of view. She could be singing from the perspective of the beautiful woman the impotent guys are lusting after. A woman could see that mix of lust/loathing as easily as a man.

  • she doesn't talk too much about her love life, but i heard she was dating some guy from another band (last son).

  • wow, she did it again, she took away my thoughts (:

  • Oooh! I love the way you've put that in words...I have the exact same thing. I often play her albums in my bathroom and it's very hard to leave when this song comes up..

  • Wow. Though Im glad to see semi intelligent conversations, yall need to shut up. Cleavage. Boobs. Christ...

  • hahah i think you guys might be thinking too deeply about the use of cleavage. pretty sure its just about boobies. but hey! thats the great thing about most art, its purpose is to get your imagination pumping. thus everyone wins! so dont attack my post! you crazy youtubers!

  • i was there that day! sooo amazing.

  • lucky you

  • I think that cleavage means "breast cleavage". When it's summer you don't ware to much clothes, so there are a lot of "breast-cleavages" walking around in the city. Haha. Well well, I dont know. English is not my mother tongue, but I'm free to understand the word cleavage in any way I want. I understand it the "breast cleavage-way". Goodnight, my dear people.

  • To cleave means to split, separate, sever... so it's kind of a play on words.

(Cleave also means to remain faithful.)

  • Hey Jacqui, she sings "cleavage" not "cleave".

  • Yes, I know... I was looking at the derivative of the word cleavage for that definition.

  • it doesnt matter what she said linus was just saying the root definition of the word cleave and its right :) makes a lot of sense if you think about it

  • Good interpretation!

  • i dont think its a woman longing for another women i think its ment to be from a guys perspective.

  • Well I personally thing this song is beautiful. It doesn't matter if it's a woman longing for the love of another woman. Or a lonely male wanting a companion. It's beautiful. And this performance is wonderful.

  • I think Regina Spektor is my favorite musician, artist, whatever you wanna call her. I love her.

  • In hindsight, this might have been my favorite performance of the festival that year. I need to move to Austin.

  • *facepalm* is it that hard. If she is talking about "coming" in crowds, it's probably as a woman. Common sense. Also, she is probably talking about a girlfriend as well, since she is talking about "Cleavage".

So lesbian point of view, doesn't mean she is a lesbian though.

  • I absolutely adore everything she does.

    EVERYTHING.

  • I love the way she smiles so happily at the crowd =]

  • this song is really emotional for me. i know it's not the same but bestfriend/sister left for the whole summer and i haven't seen her much this whole year. makes me think about her :[

  • "I've been hallucinating you baby on the backs of other women" Quite possibly one of the most poignant song lyrics written. She completely captured what it's like to be lonely and male.

  • I don't get lonely because I have no heart and treat women as objects...

  • i always took this song from a female standpoint. where the female thinks her boyfriend is cheating on her while he's on vacation/business in the city.

  • *KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*KLAP*

    Love it!

  • i love this song. I heard it the first time like a week ago and it really touched me. I just love her voice, she sings amazingly beautiful!

i wish i could go to one of her concert but i live very far from the U.S. :(

  • always will love this woman.

  • She´s the best

  • friggin'

    amazing

  • The style of singing she uses in this song reminds me a lot of Bob Dylan.

  • anyone that has seen her live is so lucky.

she is so beautiful and incredibly talented.

  • her aura of bliss illuminates everyone's heart. She is the most honest person i've ever seen.

KEEP IT REAL REGINA and keep Austin weird!

  • i wish i was the piano.

  • I'd rather be a violin, everyone lies on pianos.

  • I love the "We Heart Regina" sign, 'tis awesome.

  • My friend went to this and danced with her to bob dylan....how lucky was she? x also when she was in england she signed my trainer....iwas her only signing :) she gave me a hug....and she was ill :) xx

  • seeing this for the first time since I didnt get to go to this concert, tears me uo inside more than it should, deff., one of the best songs i've ever heard. Amazing...

  • one of the best performances of this song in existence.

  • Great perfomance of this song caught on video. And the high quality footage is professionally edited. Good sound quality for a youtube concert video, and the video has a professional quality to it. Love seeing the reflection of her sining in her piano lid.

  • Speaking of paying rent, I was writing to thank "staten" and all the cool folks who upload these videos, and a JC Penney commercial w/"Music Box" (albeit a truncated version) was on TV. Dunno how long that's been airing, but it was new to me...

  • I was smokin a bowl within the huge mob. It was good to see her hige choppers in person. :)

  • I was so so so so happy to be here for this

  • lucky!

  • i was so so so so happy to be here to see this.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! Saw the webcast of her ACL set today--incredible stuff.

Let's face it, it's Regina's world--everyone else is just payin' the rent.

  • definitely.

  • i happily pay rent to regina ;p

  • God, this was so amazing.

  • I love this song......but whose the castrated ones...some teanny hanging on the corner?

  • it's just like a poem, it doesn't have to make complete sense... most of her songs don't.

  • :~)
