I've had one of these for a while and play a classical/nylon strung guitar which sounds great through this - the most natural and accurate sound I've come across. Also played this solo and in bands with it working equally well as a main amp and monitor.
I use my taylor 614ce through the amp in which i get some great sounds for single string picking but i cannot get a good strumming sound any help to set it up would be helpful .
picked mine up for $150. Play my microkorg and my Gretsch Rancher through it. Kinda pissed off that it's made in CHINA... f**king CHINA. No wonder if was so cheap.
Hello..I play a classical nylon string guitar and Im going to use a clip on pick up...how is this amp for this set up? These demos are all with electric acoustics so Im not sure what I should go with? any info anyone?
Do I absolutely need a Acoustic amp for a electric acoustic, cause my budget is low lately? Would it be ok if I just used a regular amp, because I have a electric guitar and dont wanna buy both amps, then when I was ready budget wise I could get a acoustic amp?
This really doesn't have anything to do with the amp it self but if the input jack where I plug the guitar in falls out or or comes lose and I can't plug in the guitar anymore, is there anything I can do to fix it at home with out taking it to the guitar shop?
hey, just wondering does this amp have the ability to record then play back loops as in if you are wanting to create backing tracks or work out harmonies?
great review , easy to understand , and ill tell ya marshalls manual tells you nothing as far how to operate the two channels together , i own an as50d and i am more familiar with the controls now that ive watched this video , thank you
@kadafi844 hello , i own an AS50D and if you plan on singing through it while drumming i would not recommend it , the range is just not there in my opinion, however , it does matter on your style of playing, I play with a drummer friend of mine and actually wish i had gotten an amp perhaps 75 w or better even for my acoustic , hope i asnswered your question
@STIKEMJIM hi, I tought that 50W of this combo will be enough, because te stronger version of this amp an AS100D has 2x50w (not 1x100w) and the same speakers 2x8'. I wanted to have amp which will has light weight. I'm playing indy rock/hard rock. So now I will be looking for some stronger. thanks for the help
How does this one go against a Laney LA35C/LA65D or a Hartke AC75? I'm looking for an acoustic amp which has exactly the right sound (neutral or colored just right for my guitar's piezo) and features (feedback control, EQ, reverb, maybe an FX loop).
I'll be playing my electric guitar and board through this amp this weekend. It's the only back up guitar amp that they have and I'm seeing some problems when i kick in my od pedals. I only have a washburn 25bd practice amp at home. What can I do to make the amp work for me, even for this one time.
Been using the AS50R just about 4 years and I have no complaints. The amp gets used twice a week every week.I don't think you can beet it for the cabbage.
@spoder5001 It's very easy. A 'regular' amp is for an electric guitar. The acoustic one is for an acoustic guitar. In an acoustic guitar, you have a piezo-pickup, that's like a mic. So you get the real sound out of the guitar. An electric guitar use magnatic pickups, so the sound itself is horrible. The electric amp do automaticly change this sound into a clean guitar-sound. But the electric-amp does it on an acoustic-guitar, too. That doesn't sound very good.
I'm thinking about getting an Electro-Acoustic Guitar, this will be my first guitar other than electric; obviously this means I'm oblivious to hardware and stuff for this side of music. Can I buy an electro-acoustic guitar, this amp, plug it in and play?
hi...iv owned this amp for quite a while and think its amazin....the only thing is sometimes id like to plug my headphones in to get a better feel but am a bit lost on how to set it up...could u help please..thanks
hi, I've got this amp, but I have absolutely no clue on what the feedback section does (with the notch and phase buttons). when I change those I reckon a difference but I don't know what excactly it does! I play guitar for a long time so dont call me noob please, but the point is that I'm Dutch, so I have major troubles reading the manual and I don't even know what the term feedback means. So can someone please explain me in an easy way what the feedback section does??? please reply! thanks!
@hjh360 feedback, the output gets returned to the input and amplified again, starts out low volume increasing to shriek, example, if microphone picks up the audio from amp while you sing you can get feedback. It can damage the amplifier.
Everybody suddenly became the gods of music and criticize everything and everyone. It' a great review and a great amp for the money. If you dont like it don't buy it my ''I know everything'' friends
hello guys!would love to know if i can use my electric guitar with pedal effect on this amp,im thinking in buying it, to use in both accoustic and electric, doest anybody know?tx
@spider5001 Both amps do the same thing. That is they "amplify" the sound of the input signal. The primary difference is that an electric guitar amp (you called it a "regular" amp) is that typpically in addition to the clean channel, it typically has an overdrive channel. This Marshall amp isnt designed to distort the signal. You would use this amp if you played an acoustic/electric guitar in a coffe house or durring an "unplugged" session... Hope this helps answer your question.
acoustic amplifiers are for acoustic guitar. The "regular amp" is for electric guitars. Acoustic guitars going through an electric guitar amp doesn't sound good.
behringer do a few nice accoustic amps .... i got two ... a small practice amp and the 1800 .... nice ! lovely tone ... as good as the one shown here . PROPER ACCOUSTIC SOUND COMBINED WITH EFFECTS .
I have an acoustic-electric guitar (Prince). And my friend lend me an amp he bought with the a guitar pack (Washburn). Will the amp work with the acoustic, I mean does it use the same wire as the electric does?
Yes, it uses the same cord and yes it will work. However, keep in mind that the amp was intended to be used with an electric guitar, so the tone will be kind of "brittle" or maybe "muddy" if you turn the Bass setting up. But yes, everything will work.
If you plug in and no sound comes out of the amp, your pickup in your guitar may have an "active" pickup and the battery may be dead. If your guitar has a passive pickup, there is no battery to worry about. Let me know how it works out.
Dude my "acoustic" doesn't even have a pickup, the overide is doing fine but yeah a little brittle. But it will do fine as an acoustic-electric. I'm uploading a cover, that I played. Keep up with my channel and you'll watch it.
I beg to differ. Your acoustic does have a pick up. How do you think your guitar sound comes through the amp? Trust me on this. I worked many years in a guitar shop and installed many pickups into acoustic guitars. You will find your pickup in one of two places:
1: Underneath the bridge. Next time you change strings, remove the plastic bridge and it may be under there. 2: If you dont have a "saddle pup", then it's inside the guitar stuck to the "face" of the guitar.
You might be right, because I didn't change any strings till now. I think it's underneath the Bridge. Because in the shop they told me it didn't have a pickup, but I was like 'How the fuck is it an electric guitar then?"
yes in most clubs and smallshows but when u get to stadium type settings ur gna wana up to 100 Watt, usually any amp 50-100 watt is suitable for live play.
I'm considering buying this amplifier but I want to make sure that the quality of the microphone sound is clear, because I plugged in a mic in my old amp and it's sound really bad... Will I get a good vocal sound trough this amp..?
