  • is this a loud amp? loud enough for a highschool talent show or church?

  • Nice review. Trying to choose between a Marshall AS or Fishman Loudbox

  • seriously...this dude....sucks so hard....marshall...what the...are you doing?!

  • cool

i just got one of these, the video was really helpful

    thanks

    mike

  • I've had one of these for a while and play a classical/nylon strung guitar which sounds great through this - the most natural and accurate sound I've come across. Also played this solo and in bands with it working equally well as a main amp and monitor.

  • learn how to play real chords

  • because you can run the as50d through a pa system can you use it as your on stage monitor......

  • Great review - thanks for your video.

  • Very professional review. Thank you

  • I use my taylor 614ce through the amp in which i get some great sounds for single string picking but i cannot get a good strumming sound any help to set it up would be helpful .

  • Very professional review. Thank you.

  • picked mine up for $150. Play my microkorg and my Gretsch Rancher through it. Kinda pissed off that it's made in CHINA... f**king CHINA. No wonder if was so cheap.

  • Does anyone know what song the first chord progression is from??? it sounds so familiar and i cant place it, its driving me nuts lol????

  • @DFlynn666 Like any song ever. I V VI IV is like the most popular progression ever.

  • This guy was my old guitar tutor haha

  • Excellent review. One of the best I've ever seen. But why no review for its big brother the as100d? Pity.

  • Can you use at the same time the guitar plugged in and the microphone xlr plug?

I mean: can I get the sound from the guitar's pickup and from the guitar's soundhole at the same time? Oh by the way, I'm left handed too:)

  • @bobklose I bet you can.. You just have to play with the volume controls to make it sound good.

  • are there tube and solid state for acoustic amps? im just wondering...

  • Hello..I play a classical nylon string guitar and Im going to use a clip on pick up...how is this amp for this set up? These demos are all with electric acoustics so Im not sure what I should go with? any info anyone?

  • My teacher has this really old acoustic marshall amp.

It makes crappy acoustics sound good!

  • Do I absolutely need a Acoustic amp for a electric acoustic, cause my budget is low lately? Would it be ok if I just used a regular amp, because I have a electric guitar and dont wanna buy both amps, then when I was ready budget wise I could get a acoustic amp?

  • @SwedishBlouse

You can use a regular amp, it is just that acoustics typically have a mic input as well.

  • Да ребятки! Слушал этот комбик в Музторге на Щорса --- волосы дыбом --- теперь думаю где взять 3400 грн для его покупки. ВЕСЧЧЧЧЧЬЬЬЬЬ !!!!!

  • May i ask what song you playing?

  • This really doesn't have anything to do with the amp it self but if the input jack where I plug the guitar in falls out or or comes lose and I can't plug in the guitar anymore, is there anything I can do to fix it at home with out taking it to the guitar shop?

  • hey, just wondering does this amp have the ability to record then play back loops as in if you are wanting to create backing tracks or work out harmonies?

  • a fat pig

  • so how do you control the volume of the mic seperately from the music...ie karaoke or guitar

  • great review , easy to understand , and ill tell ya marshalls manual tells you nothing as far how to operate the two channels together , i own an as50d and i am more familiar with the controls now that ive watched this video , thank you

  • hey. Could you tell me if this amplifer will give me enough power to use it on vocal with teh percusion? I want to use it only for vocal.

  • @kadafi844 hello , i own an AS50D and if you plan on singing through it while drumming i would not recommend it , the range is just not there in my opinion, however , it does matter on your style of playing, I play with a drummer friend of mine and actually wish i had gotten an amp perhaps 75 w or better even for my acoustic , hope i asnswered your question

  • @STIKEMJIM hi, I tought that 50W of this combo will be enough, because te stronger version of this amp an AS100D has 2x50w (not 1x100w) and the same speakers 2x8'. I wanted to have amp which will has light weight. I'm playing indy rock/hard rock. So now I will be looking for some stronger. thanks for the help

  • left handed :)

  • your guitar playing is amazing.

what chords ar eyou using for the first example you did?

  • How does this one go against a Laney LA35C/LA65D or a Hartke AC75? I'm looking for an acoustic amp which has exactly the right sound (neutral or colored just right for my guitar's piezo) and features (feedback control, EQ, reverb, maybe an FX loop).

    Nice demonstration.

  • It's a little wierd watching a left handed player. I really need to get used to it.

  • how would this sound with an electric guitar :D?

  • PLEASE do a Bass demo for marshall!!! :(

  • yeah, it's still kind of strange to watch some one to play left handed.

  • Just ordered my amp today, Can't wait to get it:)

  • I'll be playing my electric guitar and board through this amp this weekend. It's the only back up guitar amp that they have and I'm seeing some problems when i kick in my od pedals. I only have a washburn 25bd practice amp at home. What can I do to make the amp work for me, even for this one time.

  • I'm thinking of getting this amp for a mandolin using a condenser pick-up. How do you think it will sound?

  • I always find acoustics sound better when they're directly mic'd up rather than put through an amp.

  • Been using the AS50R just about 4 years and I have no complaints. The amp gets used twice a week every week.I don't think you can beet it for the cabbage.

  • @obidahl aHAW HAW. Cabbage/beet, like it.

  • @spoder5001 It's very easy. A 'regular' amp is for an electric guitar. The acoustic one is for an acoustic guitar. In an acoustic guitar, you have a piezo-pickup, that's like a mic. So you get the real sound out of the guitar. An electric guitar use magnatic pickups, so the sound itself is horrible. The electric amp do automaticly change this sound into a clean guitar-sound. But the electric-amp does it on an acoustic-guitar, too. That doesn't sound very good.

  • why would you use a capo on a demo??? I cannot hear how the amp deals with the lows at all....not cool

  • can you sing ANd play guitar on the same channel?

  • @robotfamilygchicken Yes. But effects are only for channel 1 and 2, not channel 2 mic-line in and channel 2 guitar line in

  • I'm thinking about getting an Electro-Acoustic Guitar, this will be my first guitar other than electric; obviously this means I'm oblivious to hardware and stuff for this side of music. Can I buy an electro-acoustic guitar, this amp, plug it in and play?

  • This is an awesome little amp! That guitar sounds really good, what brand is it?

  • @garydupuis really ?

  • what kind of acoustic is that you used ?

  • But why is he using it to play gay floaty music?

    The 100d is great ha.

  • wow it sounds beautiful

  • can you use a distortion pedal with this amp?

  • @van1978halen you can use a distrortion pedal with any amp dude!

  • hi...iv owned this amp for quite a while and think its amazin....the only thing is sometimes id like to plug my headphones in to get a better feel but am a bit lost on how to set it up...could u help please..thanks

  • hi, I've got this amp, but I have absolutely no clue on what the feedback section does (with the notch and phase buttons). when I change those I reckon a difference but I don't know what excactly it does! I play guitar for a long time so dont call me noob please, but the point is that I'm Dutch, so I have major troubles reading the manual and I don't even know what the term feedback means. So can someone please explain me in an easy way what the feedback section does??? please reply! thanks!

  • @hjh360 feedback, the output gets returned to the input and amplified again, starts out low volume increasing to shriek, example, if microphone picks up the audio from amp while you sing you can get feedback. It can damage the amplifier.

  • You guys recommend this amp?

    pros/cons

    please

  • Yes, dont ask questions.

    Just buy it, its amazing

  • Does this amp has a delay option???

  • i have one can i use my strat on it ? i don't wanna try incazed it explodes lol

  • @RetroReactiveZ True you can, but it will sound horrible :)

  • It's the Reverb. The AS50R version had a spring reverb and the AS50D version has a digital reverb.

    thx

  • @NevadaMusicUK

Everybody suddenly became the gods of music and criticize everything and everyone. It' a great review and a great amp for the money. If you dont like it don't buy it my ''I know everything'' friends

  • whats the diffrence between an as50d and as50r

  • hello guys!would love to know if i can use my electric guitar with pedal effect on this amp,im thinking in buying it, to use in both accoustic and electric, doest anybody know?tx

  • What is the dif between an acoustic amp and a regular amp? Sorry I just started playing =/

  • @spider5001 Both amps do the same thing. That is they "amplify" the sound of the input signal. The primary difference is that an electric guitar amp (you called it a "regular" amp) is that typpically in addition to the clean channel, it typically has an overdrive channel. This Marshall amp isnt designed to distort the signal. You would use this amp if you played an acoustic/electric guitar in a coffe house or durring an "unplugged" session... Hope this helps answer your question.

  • @spider5001

Every machine/amp has a colour! Like the name of it... for example another sound u have with marshal and anoither with fender!

that is true about accoustic and el. amps too

  • acoustic amplifiers are for acoustic guitar. The "regular amp" is for electric guitars. Acoustic guitars going through an electric guitar amp doesn't sound good.

  • I wouldn't say it doesn't sound good...but it doesn't sound as well....acoustic amps are built for only acoustic electric guitars....

  • @KeepJamen Acoustic amps are for ACOUSTIC GUITAR AND VOICE. Pls check the tube and you will see how POOR PRESENTATIONS ARE.

  • @spider5001 acoustic amps are pretty much more like a bass amp or PA. most come with tweeters and speakers built for bass like a sub but not a sub.

  • Is it Lag guitar?

  • yeah ! i m pretty sure it's the summer 200 DCE ;)

  • or maybe the autumn

  • are these acoustic amps suitable for nylon string semis?

  • @kevycanavan I was wondering the same thing. I could not find any vids with a nylon guitar.

  • This amp does not have an earphone jack . hail hail.

  • Hey what guitar are you using?

  • behringer do a few nice accoustic amps .... i got two ... a small practice amp and the 1800 .... nice ! lovely tone ... as good as the one shown here . PROPER ACCOUSTIC SOUND COMBINED WITH EFFECTS .

  • When you first look at the title overlay on the video it looks like it says "ASS0D" hahah

  • does anyone know if you can plug in headphones in this amp?

  • I have an acoustic-electric guitar (Prince). And my friend lend me an amp he bought with the a guitar pack (Washburn). Will the amp work with the acoustic, I mean does it use the same wire as the electric does?

  • Yes, it uses the same cord and yes it will work. However, keep in mind that the amp was intended to be used with an electric guitar, so the tone will be kind of "brittle" or maybe "muddy" if you turn the Bass setting up. But yes, everything will work.

If you plug in and no sound comes out of the amp, your pickup in your guitar may have an "active" pickup and the battery may be dead. If your guitar has a passive pickup, there is no battery to worry about. Let me know how it works out.

  • Dude my "acoustic" doesn't even have a pickup, the overide is doing fine but yeah a little brittle. But it will do fine as an acoustic-electric. I'm uploading a cover, that I played. Keep up with my channel and you'll watch it.

    Thanks.

  • I beg to differ. Your acoustic does have a pick up. How do you think your guitar sound comes through the amp? Trust me on this. I worked many years in a guitar shop and installed many pickups into acoustic guitars. You will find your pickup in one of two places:

1: Underneath the bridge. Next time you change strings, remove the plastic bridge and it may be under there. 2: If you dont have a "saddle pup", then it's inside the guitar stuck to the "face" of the guitar.

  • You might be right, because I didn't change any strings till now. I think it's underneath the Bridge. Because in the shop they told me it didn't have a pickup, but I was like 'How the fuck is it an electric guitar then?"

  • the best acoustic amp is the fender black face de los 60ts y 70ts... nadie puede mejorar ese sonido

  • are 50 watt enough for a band?

  • yes in most clubs and smallshows but when u get to stadium type settings ur gna wana up to 100 Watt, usually any amp 50-100 watt is suitable for live play.

  • the song is james blunt your beautiful capo on 8 th fret and play a g/b etc

  • Thanks :) !

  • First song name please, what starts 2:32.. thanks

  • what's this guitar brand?

  • I'm considering buying this amplifier but I want to make sure that the quality of the microphone sound is clear, because I plugged in a mic in my old amp and it's sound really bad... Will I get a good vocal sound trough this amp..?

  • I have one of these amps they sound very cool , i have seen Chris George play at the penrith guitar show in northern england , how i wish i could have his job hail hail from scotland.

  • best acoustic amp vidio on here

  • This video is awesome! Excellent tutorial, demo, and production value! You have made my decision on whether or not to pick one of these up very simple! Thank you!

  • the mg of acoustic amps

  • This was so very helpful. Thank you!

  • It was an excellent explanation on how to use the amp but I would of liked to hear the bottom end without the capo. Big E chord would be nice

  • have you tried one in the flesh, they are unbeatable for the money.

  • amen dude, i was shocked about how good it sounded at the price!

  • Very good explained.. thank you!

  • thanks dude.good presentation.you help me to decide.i'm going to buy it.

  • oh yeah, its a left handed amp...doh

  • Nice, you answered. You've done a good job. But you know, after watching several demos I missed some humor on youtube.

  • yep, I know what you mean, Youtube can turn into a rather dull opinionated conversation. Its about sharing, learning and having fun !!
