@idiotzrule Thats excellent! truly. I Own a 2006 E60 M5. Stage 2 RPI tune. Buying new is not my thing. Absolutely no equity in cars, nothing new atleast, Paying full price with cash gives no recourse. Id rather buy my E60 M5 at 32k and sell it in 2013 for 24k than spend 112k then resell a year later for a common RP of 50% less.

@rclewis1 I buy a car when it is about 3 months old keep it for 2 or 3 months then sell it. I lose very little if anything as the cars I buy usually have a waiting list which is normally years long so they are in high demand at a premium.

If I was the kind of person to buy an M5 on the never never with the intention of tuning it up I would also buy as old as possible due to the lower resale value that tarted up junk has.

Not exactly the best comparison, get a naturally aspirated V8 vs a naturally aspirated V10. The turbos can muffle and engine and exhaust sound.

@jason21jburg You give top speed way too much value. Sure its 5 mph slower, but it can trap 122 in the 1/4 and has a much more usable torque range. It will pull on th E60 in any situation. Plus it averages nearly 30 mpg.I sure as hell will miss the V10, but the TT V8 is making a lot more sense.

Glad ///M went back to a V8 but sad its not NA. Sure its faster, which is nice, but this means the end of an era. M cars always sported ITB's, high revving motors and extreme sporting pleasure. Now it seems power and brute force, with tons of luxury accommodations are the new thing... M just isn't ///M anymore...

It sounds only better when it accelerates but not at stationary. So a quick tip: always show off while accelerating and don't rev while standing.

Everyone will miss the V10 engine, but the F10 will be really great I am sure.
