  • this is amazing , it's happy to watch the video knowing that they have all been re-homed and not on our plates

  • uhhhh.....

  • Do you know anywhere in North Wales that chickens need rehoming? I am looking for 4 - 6 that we have a large garden they can take over! chicken run is in place just needs some residents?

    please email ian.turley@talktalk.net

  • All of these hens have now been re-homed! :-D Thankyou!!

If you would like to save some other hens in need please google

At Little hen rescue have Cambridge collection point as well as Norfolk.

BHWT have various points over the UK

  • do you still have any hens left? i would like to give them a home. if you do let me know asap. thank you.

  • Collected Violet, Iris, Indigo and Rosie today, they have now moved into their new forever home. Thankyou.

  • have shared this with everyone I know on facebook....am hoping you get some more calls for your gorgeous chooks

  • Ive now got seven of these lovely girls, went back and got 5 more. They are the freindliest and funniest chickens and make such great pets. Highly confident, very curious but very gently birds. If you are considering getting chickens or want more, i gaurantee they will reward you. Thank you Jo for my delightful girls! x

  • I love to come get some but cant seem to find where you are?

  • I'd love to have some in our back garden... but it's probably too small. How much space would you say you should have per chicken? Thanks!

  • I really wish I could have some, but don't have space :/ It really is too bad that FREE RANGE eggs aren't worth more to the supermarkets. I wouldn't mind paying double the price I do now for my eggs as long as I know it comes from healthy, happy chickens... I wish everyone would only buy free range, but too many people just don't give a damn about the animals that feed us

  • Have shared via Facebook - hopefully someone can help you x

  • Thank you so much, was a great visit today. A lovely place, which makes it so sad its no longer an option to keep it running. I guess the demand for cheap free range eggs by the consumers doesnt help. (shame on us)

The lovely girls you patiently helped me choose (difficult!, 2 of 6000) are settled in thier new home. Julie and Prissy!. So friendly & gentle, and loving the garden. I highly recommend these lovely birds & felt so welcome. Thank you & looking forward to my first eggs of the year!

  • I rehome 9 a few years back.they lay brilliantly out of 9 hens had usually 8 eggs a day wil re-stock when the time comes cos down to 5 now age and illness witters them away,but..they're lovely daft little creatures, very endearing they do a brilliant job of clearing the veg patches through the winter too,go for it if you're considering rehoming some they're easy to to keep and big bags of food/corn are really cheap from wholesalers.

  • I can wholeheartedly recommend taking up poultry keeping. I cannot imagine life without my hens & this is the best way of obtaining your hens. Go for it.
