omg before tonight i thought shit, how is fleetwood mac blues rock, then i started to listen to the peter green era and i know i must buy the first album
Great track and a truly great guitarist. Not sure - but did you use an image of the Vintage V100 'Lemon Drop' guitar at the start? -- the excellent SFX makes it hard to be sure. Certainly looks like it and for anyone who wants to emulate PG's sound, it's probably the only LP-style guitar available with pre-installed out-of-phase electronics.
There is so little film/video of P Green from this time - and most of what there is is either the band doing the Jeremy Spencer Elmore imitations or rock n roll numbers, or the top 40 hits - oh if only someone could unearth a film of Peter Green playing a slow blues like this - I want to see how he manipulated the volume control while he played the solos.
Strangeones4, you are of course completely entitled to your opinion, as am I and anyone else who comments on youtube, but it is totally unnecessary and unacceptable for you to call me an idiot; this sort of personal attack and insult is far too prevalent on the internet. It would be easy for me to respond to you in similar, or worse, vein, but I will not. Just confine the comments to the video subject matter!
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks! Always loved the studio version, but Peter's guitar playing got SO much better in just the two years between that and this.
As Roger Federer is to tennis, so PG is and always will be to blues guitar - superlative spine chilling thrilling excellence; haven't heard this cut before, didn't know it existed; worth waiting 40 years for. Saw them for about 5 mins at a free gig at Parliament Hill Fields, broken up by bottle throwing skinheads, around this time - never had another chance to see PG as he was then. Glad he is still able to play, but does zilch for me nowadays. This is beyond sublime.
@NKPman You're an idiot on two levels. 1) You compare Peter Green to Roger Federrer. Peter Green would never have a self serving "label" to promote his occupation.
2) If you can't appreciate Peter Green today, compared to say 1996, or 1999, or 2001, or 2004, and the difference in performance....duh!
As Dinky Dawson recalls: The 30-foot dick began to emergefrom the balcony walkway.....then Jeremy Spencer jumped up f, pointing at the behemoth lurching over their heads. Peters eyes got really big. Mick thrashed his drums, a huge smile on his face as John McVie and Danny Kirwan were almost doubled over with laughter.
Dont get hurt, Peter chuckled, pointing to the enormous phallus above him. Those things have a mind of their own, you know!!
i would fuckin give my balls for his les paul and sell my fuckin soul to the devil to be able to play like him!

Well PG is the greatest, I cant say that, because there will be a useless
discussion, so I wont say it. I just say: "Interesting vid".
Tks so much for uploading.
