Any systemn of belief can become a religion - all it requires is a set of rituals and some doctrines (Like: "There is no God - stop worrying"). Not believing in anything would be agnosticism, the only belief system that doubts doubt itself.

Duncan's sense of humour and genuine forthright opinions probably make him the best politician to regular appear on this programme(Boris was funny because he was bumbling, Duncan is genuinely sharp) but it you look at his decline and the controversy that jokes like this cause it's clear that you just can't get away with this sort of thing. Ther's an incredible case in the UK at the moment. Google "Christian charity worker suspended for saying he did not believe in same-sex marriage" to see it. A Christian charity funded by Christians decided their equality policies meant they had to suspend their brother in Christ from work for expressing his agreement with the Bible regarding homosexual 'marriage' in a casual private conversation over a cup of tea. Meanwhile apparently most homosexuals don't believe in gay 'marriage' anyway!

I can't comment on the British education system since I know nothing about it.
However, I do know that in California there are no requirements for children to know about marriage at all. Gay or straight. And in many states parents contribute their schools' curriculum either directly or through committees.

Duncan's sense of humour and genuine forthright opinions probably make him the best politician to regular appear on this programme(Boris was funny because he was bumbling, Duncan is genuinely sharp) but it you look at his decline and the controversy that jokes like this cause it's clear that you just can't get away with this sort of thing. For mine there'd be nobody I'd rather see as a senior cabinet minister.

It cites several polls from the last few years; support for gay marriage was either 52%, 46%, 55%, 61% or 41% depending on which one you refer to - so like I said, about 50/50. As you were.

Ther's an incredible case in the UK at the moment. Google "Christian charity worker suspended for saying he did not believe in same-sex marriage" to see it. A Christian charity funded by Christians decided their equality policies meant they had to suspend their brother in Christ from work for expressing his agreement with the Bible regarding homosexual 'marriage' in a casual private conversation over a cup of tea. Meanwhile apparently most homosexuals don't believe in gay 'marriage' anyway!

I can't comment on the British education system since I know nothing about it.
However, I do know that in California there are no requirements for children to know about marriage at all. Gay or straight. And in many states parents contribute their schools' curriculum either directly or through committees.
To say that it's will happen in America, too is speculation and something that could easily not happen due to the way our educational system is set up.
