Why the fuck are people so concerened about mountain lion sightings. You have a better chance at being killed by a fucking gang banger, leave the big cat alone.
If the cougar was there because of the fire, the lady didn't have much to worry about. Now, if the cougar's claws were gone or there was very little of it's natural prey, then she should be worry. But really, people have no respect for nature so no wonder why there's the very very uncommon bear or cougar attacks.
It was "misplaced" by the fires. Not that this was it's home, has been thousands of years and now we have taken it over the past hundred and fifty. No. It was "misplaced". Love the sensationalism also. Just a "stones throw" from the elementary school. "Oh my god! Hey Jeb, go get my coon skin hat with the bald eagle feathers an lez go do us some dern huntin. And once they're all dead we'll make statue for em in front a some perdy famous building to make ourselves feel better"
While I get what you're saying, Sarah, those big cats have never liked us, or living around us. Even when we lived in caves you know those big cats lived in the furthest cave away that they could find.
People are VERY ignorant. "Oh my god, I saw a big cat that's natural to this area. I don't like it, it scares me. It's bigger than fluffy back at the house and it looks like it might hurt me. Call the news and let's freak out. Better yet, let's kill it and all it's relatives like we did the NATIVE americans, Buffalo, Eagles, Grey Wolves, All other wolves,... Gee,... we don't look ignorant.. No... of course not... It 'came out of nowhere' that darn big scary thing. "
DNRs will release them anywhere they want.
Some were released where we hunt by DNRs.

Or the sighting could be because of human encroachment upon their habitat due to rampant unsustainable development.
