I wonder what a stroked crossfire could run, I hear the only problem with them is their intakes being too restrictive due to harsh emissions standards of the time. Anyway I'm looking to own a vette someday I want to be among the few 10 second crossfire n/a owners. Or I'll just settle for really high 12's as I'm on a budget and everybody I despise own a Porsche.
...hey i have 84 (check it out) this is what you do...hypertech chip $150 (street runner ) underdrive pullies $100 fuel pump from 85 corvette cuz 84 is NEVER where it should be (13 lb) 85 is 15 and crossfire runs the best on 15 lb... and bored out throutle bodies on ebay 5 mm larger aprox $250 and put roler rockers in 1.6 to 1 $150 and you have better vette than any till LT1 came out and 5.5 sec not 8....there i just gave you all i learned in 3 years and spended huge amounts of time to find out.
Hey, yeah, those are all great mods and all in one place, very useful info. . I did upgrade the fuel pump, that helped a lot. I still feel like it's fuel starved. Maybe the bigger bores would help on that. The car has 160,000 miles on it so I'm not really trying to push it to the extreme, just keep it running decently. But I agree totally that with those mods it would be amazing. Thanks for the info!
when i put my 85 pump in mine it gave me to much fuel i had to use buy adjustable fuel preasure regulator to fix that ...so maybe you should rebuild your injectors....or if they are good get that regulator .....company is from austin texsas and they are throutle body shop they are all over e-bay
@djsugarr hey buddy i just bought a 84 vette my self. and i know this comment is 2 years old so i was juct checking to see if all this stuff is still nown as the best for my year of vette. or if there is any change to what items to get now since we are in 2011 now? highly appreciate your help thanks
Hi Lemons, the car was repainted by previous owner. It is metallic. I guess its supposed to be like Admiral Blue but I've never seen an authentic one to know if it is really that color. Thanks for the comment
Hi BigGreen, thanks for the comment. 8 sec isn't amazing, but its fun to drive. we had just tuned it up, new plugs, wires and a new fuel pump so I thought it was probably running its best for a stock 150,000 mile car.
You are correct nothing amazing, about what I squeeze out of my 84, but what is amazing from a dead stop at the lights the number of modern brand new cars that you still can take with the 84, not all new cars but a good share of them. Even though the car had a low HP rating I guess the higher torque number is what gets them out of the hole quicker. Good Luck and drive it safe, summer is just about here.
Where did you get the hood lift?
