I really like like, i want it to be for just playing music though. Would there be a way to attach the Ipod touch using the one cable in the base to play music through my head deck? Not using an audio jack out the top, its messy, and im sure it could be soooo much better! THanks!

Cool but if you have a car with a av input and a screen you just have to get a av cable for ipod and plug it in

this is a simple hack.........

here are the steps.

1.use chainsaw and cut dashboard open

2.stick i home in it.

3. stick usb cable in the ihome.

4.buy a mini tv.

5.connect usb to tv

6.put the dashboard back in.

Hey what is the point of doing this? I'm guessing you have an older Infiniti that does not have a composite video/audio inputs built it.. Because my 08 Infiniti comes with a composite A/V input and I can just use the Apple Composite AV Cable and it works right off the bat. For watching movies. For audio, the Infiniti comes with a special input for the iPod and that works perfectly too, you just need the special cable. Only when the car is not in motion. However there's a way to bypass that too..

Depends on what quality they are. They can range from 500mb - 1.5gb! So if you only have an 8gb iPod that only leaves room for a couple movies, assuming you would like to have some apps and music on there of course.
