  • the reversing latch broke on mine, broke in my hand, them things are cast metal, they should be stamped steel.

  • @jda1961 We do make Hi-Lift Jack models (Cast and Steel) that have stamped steel reversing latches. The cast iron parts are usually more durable as they don't bend as easily as steel. It usually takes quite a bit of abuse to break one of the cast iron parts.

  • @hiliftjacks the jack was never abused, i bought it new and it sat in the building for a few years b4 i needed it, i jacked up my truck and went to flip the latch down and it just broke, end of story. i found the part i need on ebay, but it costs 12 bucks or so but the shipping is 15 bucks. i'm not paying 15 bucks to ship that small part. i'll make one myself out of plate steel, it won't break no matter how long it sits in a building not being used. you make a good product

  • @jda1961 It's possible that there was an air pocket of some sort in the cast iron material making up that reversing latch. If you'll contact us (sdowden@hi-lift.com) with your address, we can send you a new cast iron reversing latch to replace the broken one. Just reference the situation and your posting on YouTube. Thanks!

  • @hiliftjacks thats very kind of you, i'm sure the warrantee has long since ran out, but i'll send you my mailing address, and thanks. i may send you the part that broke if i think of it. thanks again.

  • need someone from 4wd action to use as a base plate when jacking

  • '

this hi-lift jack cannot lift up the either vehicle bumper,,,

only under the axle, frame, hardern metal chassic

  • I use my high lift jack on a daily basis for work. I leave it in the elements all the time in the back of my truck. I found that using used motor oil on the jack is the best. It makes it a little black but I only have to oil it about every three to four months. Even sand doesn't affect it anymore!

  • Are you saying the 1/4" drill bit I put in my HLJ when my pin broke some twenty years ago (and about a thousand uses) was un-safe?! Wow, I had better get right to fixing that with your factory parts! Thanks for letting me know about that....
