  • i would like to have one of those motorcycle-engine powered sevens

but it's almost to get one on the streets here in germany

how do you managed the transmission?

  • I've got a Formula27 with a tuned ZX-12R motor. And no windscreen :-)

  • Thank you for advice. It is not easy because of the car inspection system of Japan.

  • 凄まじいですね。

  • I'm a motorcycle mechanic -- great vid! However, the ZX-12R motor is full of problems... the remote oil level sight glass, the clutch and clutch hub problems, and the weight of the motor vs. its output. I feel a better substitute, if you want to stay with a Kawasaki motor, is the ZX-14 motor -- MUCH better components, and even better horsepower and torque than the ZX-12R. As expected, Suzuki 'Busa motors are much more common and much easier to find car-swap components for. ;)

  • Nice =] whats the top end on that? I love self built 7's, so much love in them haha better than some bloke in a factory. I have never spoke to anyone who has an R500 that can actually get 0-60 in 2.88 closest so far is 3.1

  • 確かに12Rの音だ!

  • see ''smart car with busa engine''

  • There is one with two zx12 engines . Given when the engine is in its original place it kicks out over 800bhp +, in power to weight ratio . As for cossies or any other car lol lol dream on, and save up big bucks to compete with a bike thats less than 3 grand .

  • Only problem is an R500 costs roughly three times what it cost me to build an MK Indy ZX12 which is essentially the same as this car.

  • @eznfrank

You are right, Caterham is about over 30,000 €, Westfield about 20,000 € and MK Indy you can get for 10,000 € in very good condition.

  • @eznfrank I just took a quick look at the MK INdy chassis and I doubt it's got the same numbers as the Caterham on torsional rigidity, and that front suspension geometry is clearly not as well developed.

  • or even better just get the caterham r500 0-6- in 2.88. 2.3 cossie engine and works out around 500bhp per ton

  • every car needs a zx12r engine

  • イイ音してるねー!!

  • wait....so is that a motor bike engine in one of those kit car thingy's?

  • Yes it is, like vid name says. Engine is from Kawasaki ZX-12R :)

  • obviously not as quick as the bike but does the engine take the added weight well?

  • yeah, just get the revs up and it'll go like crap off a shovel, cheaper option would be to use a fireblade engine buy you'll need to upgrade the springs in the clutch but that will only set you back £10, still get 0-60 in about 5 seconds with a blade engine :)

  • thats so mad:D i might look into this more as a future project=] thanks for the info

  • スゲえ

  • nice, how fast did you get up to

  • if ya noticed he did,nt even have time to klick it in to 6th lol

  • If he is using the standard transmission from a ZX-12R bike, Its right around 145.

  • @racingdrew3 Standard transmission, but the diff ratio would change things to match the aerodynamic properties (a brick) of the 7-reps. Usually they top out at between 120 and 130mph.

  • @MWeirsa that's with the windscreen, without it, it's considerably faster.

  • My dad has a caterham 7 but no way is it as fast as this. But still pretty speedy

  • i just watched it again...fantastic

  • Dude you are awsome. living my dream.....oh and great shifting by the way.
