It doesn't really matter whether she knew that she would be charged as a juvenile or adult...it wasn't up to Alyssa to take this childs life. Our laws are getting tougher because of kids killing kids etc. People are tired of it. Yes I do feel sorry for Alyssa's grandparents...they were trying to raise her and making sure she was going to counseling...just to be let down.
@nana0567, what kind of crimes aren't "adult"? A person of 15 years does not psychologically (and more importantly, we now know, even physiologically) have the same capacity to judge as an adult. That is entirely the reason for determining how a person should be tried.
@ReturnToAus Well fortunately or unfortunately she is going to be tried as an adult. If you have been following the story this was very cold, calculated and very much planned. I don't know that Elizabeth was her intended target but that is who she killed. She keeps getting her trials postponed...but the last I heard it will be in September 2011. I hope she gets life in prison...she doesn't even have any remorse for what she did.
@nana0567- I know i feel equally as sorry for Elizabeth and Alyssa but its sad to see a 15 year old girl being tried as an adult when shes not...i know she committed an adult crime... she probably wudnt have done sumthing like this if she knew the concequences right? And also Alyysa has family too...but i dont know if theyre gonna miss her :( Its sad to see teens committing adult crimes
@kokobo94 - There's no need to feel sorry for Alyssa. She knew exactly what she was doing and actually dug two graves a week before she killed her innocent 9 yr. old neighbor. The only person to feel sorry for is Elizabeth who was taken from her family...and will never be a teenager, get married, or have babies. RIP Elizabeth
i feel sorry for Alyssa especially as she's being tried as an adult which legally means she can be executed or get life... I hope she gets out at 21 so she can carry on with her life..but she might not be safe :( Its really sad to see her sitting there on the bench... i wud totally go and hug her if i cud... :(
Yes Nancy is a giant douche, and the girl should not be tried as an adult, she's very very troubled and needs prayer, psychiatric help, and meds...but she has to have some kind of disciplinary action.
