I dont think anyone is forced to convert to islam in egypt. Usually it is a boy and girl that fall in love, a christian and a muslim who can not marry, run away together. Coptic Christians are the oldest christians in the world, they protected the holy family in egypt. You dont know your own faith.

I don't see these guys having much of a future. The main cause of the revolts in the Arab world is the generation gap--young Arabs are simply sick & tired of being told what to do and what to think by a bunch of old farts who are only interested in staying in power.

It already caused the fall of the political dictators in many countries. Once the Egyptian youth realize that the Islamic clergy have precisely the same mentality as the political dictators had, the revolts will simply begin anew.
