i went so slowly in the tunnel my speed was the starting speed like 300 or 400 or so.....

but i kept dieing my furthest run inside the tunnel was with the F-35 Lightning i mcrashed at the obstackles

Because I prefer more realistic games like IL-2 sturmnovik and lock on or even better: Falcon4.0AF and DCS: Black Shark. And I am not going to play this game (and buy a console) just to prove you guys wrong. ;)

i hate this part of the mission. the best plane for beginners to use to go in the tunnel is the hawk.

I'm playing this in Ace mode and that bastard Hamilton is always shooting me down in there.

The best I can do is try to yaw away from his missiles with L2 or R2 but I still get hit!

This might help, speed down the tunnel. AI pilots tend to not use afterburners so you can outrun him easily.

This was one of the best missions in the entire game. Speaking of which, did it bother anyone else that as soon as the mission starts all of the allied planes just vanish? Seriously, they build you up and are all like, "Sure, we'll fight with you," and then they just go away. Its the biggest buzz kill in history. They do anything not to give you allies in that game. Worst case scenario they could have just flew around or something (You know, like they always do). Seriously, man not cool.

No, not really. I've considered, but I always end up giving in to the urge to fly into the main enterance.

That's a long tunnel, probably like 10 miles long or something. I reccomend the typhoon for this mission since it's powerful, small, and pretty manueverable. It's not so bad.

F/A-18 is also nice and rather inexpensive. But where's the fun if the game's too easy? Even I'd like to try the tunnel with MiG-31 someday.

Lol, you know what's hard try the tunnel with a su-47. Kills like hell. Barely managed. Hamilton shot me twice (it was only on normal difficulty).

Nah, the griphen's weapon sucks. RCL? The typhoon has 14 XLAA's and 78 missles (it's the eurofighter in real life). It's also small and pretty manueverable. Hands down my favorite.

typhoon: aka: eurofighter, ef-2000. anyway, it takes a TRUE ace to master the rocket launcher. you dont need XLAA's and 78 missiles to succeed in this mission. it's pretty much a ground mission, except when you're trying to kill Hamilton ;)

Sometimes you just have to make it more challenging yourself. I beat the last mission using MiG-21bis on Ace Difficulty- I should try it in this.

did you ever try killing hamilton with a crappy plane? whoo, it's a doozy. He's the one flying a mig-1.44, one of my favourite planes, and he's labelled "hamilton", and when you kill him, the squad will go, "omg, he's the ace of aces!"

well, not AS crappy. i just use the gripen. i use it because i think it's a versatile plane for that particular mission, but i didnt think there were better ones for this mission. lol

Well if you're going for ace why not make it easier for yourself. To get ace this mission is actually more air since air targets are worth a heck of a lot more than ground targets. Getting 11,000 points going anti-ground is impossible. RCL is nice in that's it's fire and forget, but it doesn't do shit against those annoying swerving pilots who just don't stop swirling around. XLAA's on the other hand allow you to snipe them before they enter the map all the way, which is always nice.

look ... i shoot him, target is lost, but plane a stay flying... Try to "shoot" him, then fly slowely into a tunnel - he is back and rear of you))) its a script Game - and because it looks like good)))

its not 1st thing you can try is slowing down in the tunnel (which i do not recommend cuz i stalled and crashed 29 times...) or you can use a glitch best described on gamespot
