DeviantArt is just the network addiction and all it's evils boosted by the bonus of providing a source of recognition for mediocre Artists. I am frankly, amazed at the number of highly talented artists who don't realize where they are at or what the pains of it could be.

There was one REALLY huge one, but that was hosted on another site. It was a fake dA login page that would hijack people's accounts and spam the link to others. There were also some other smaller one that ran at the sme time, but those were insignificant. The problem's been remedied now by a screen that asks you whether or not you want to follow the link. But no, dA's never hosted a virus itself.

I suspect someone may have somehow hacked the site, I've heard of that happening to other sites.

I just left deviantART, I was reading through the TOS and submission policy and I'm pretty sure they take the rights to my art...I don't know how long that's been that way I've been on DA since 2003 I think.
