  • i am moving to San Francisco from NY come January and I am so anxious and excited at the same time! where in SF are you located in?

  • as the fiance of a transwoman, I am appauled that that might be a valid legal defence.

  • I win! I win the prize!!!

  • I know what we win...we win the enlightened state of mind granted by your magnificence. lol hey Erin sorry its been so long since i was last on here. good to see your doing so well. i just completed catching up on your vids lol. this was the last one i missed (went backwards from the latest lol)

  • Need some more friends. Me and my partner a tg mtf as well would love to be your friend, we are in the SF Bay Area.

  • just started watching ur videos, have a question, who is morgan?

  • My Wife.

  • Welcome, Erin. You know I've been here in SF since 1975. I work at the U.S. Federal Building near Civic Center. Love to meet you for lunch someday. I hope you fall in love with SF like I have....warts and all. Working yet? We have lots of creepy people here....they come here from all over. Next time, tell the creep to get lost and slam the door in his face. You're being way too nice. Where's that Morman backbone.

  • I'm glad you guys made it safely across the country. I don't think you are paranoid about that creepster. It's best not to put yourself into potentially dangerous situations. Plus, I think the sunlight is very flattering for your complexion. You look fabulous! :)

  • I win the prize!! :)

  • Is the prize an empty box? Since, apparently on the west coast, life is lived outside the box. Don't ever worry about being too paranoid... if you have to err, better too wary than not wary enough. ...Yeah, I have some trust issues :-)

Have a great time exploring your new city.

  • That was actualy an entertaining nine minutes, but unfortunately, I cannot remember what you were talking about at the beginning of the video. XD

  • I don't think I could either.

  • I'm waiting on notification of what the prize is. =)

  • I won it :)

    Good luck!

  • lol theres no box

  • I'm glad you two made it safe and sound.

I hope you're never a victim of trannyrage or anything.

  • Welcome Home! Now that you're out on the West Coast- get up to Seattle sometime! You and Morgan are welcome!

  • I won!!! :)

  • Yay! I won!

Love listening to you:) I'm so happy for you and your now moved! :)

  • Like you, I recently moved from the right coast (NC) to the left coast (Portland, OR), about two months ago. I've been enjoying your vlogs for a while, and now you're only a state away. So cool. My partner says she'd love to come down to visit SF one of these days, since it's not a long drive. It might be really nice to meet you, if you'd be up for it. Congrats on the new digs, all that wonderful light (that looks great on you, btw), and the friendlier environs (a good thing, I promise). :)

  • ever been in an earthquake b4? :)

dont worry the first time is always way scarier than it really is.

  • I haven't... but I've always been morbidly curious. Obviously I don't want people to get hurt, but I would like to be able to experience an earthquake.

  • I know this sounds wrong.....but earthquakes are FUN! in a weird, somewhat morbid way lol. THe whole ground shakes and you have no clue what's happening--the chandelier (if you have one--i was in a friend's house) was rocking back and forth and I thought a plane was crashing...then I realized oh! QUake!! It's scary but fun lol. Although I think the "big" quake that'll be like 8.9 is not going to be so mmuch fun.

  • Meh, they're nothing to write home about (for the most part). But the people out here in CA seem to lose their minds if the ground shakes a little bit. They need to mellow out!

The scariest one I ever felt I was at work and the building started ROLLING back and forth. Of course that's what they're designed to do.

  • You should meet CharlesAsher from Youtube, I think he lives in SF too.

  • Ya, he and I were thinking about meeting up at some point.

  • The things women put up with. That guy probably went to Woodstock 3.

  • Congrats on the move Erin :) best of luck in SF.

  • you should look up some of the people from genderqueerchat. I know atleast Sam lives in SF.

Glad the move is finally settling down.

  • Wasn't there an all trans band called "all the pretty horses"?

  • I win too!

Also, in Eugene, which may be slightly different than San Francisco, you can still just walk past people. Maybe give them a head nod, if you feel like it. I don't think it's considered rude at all...

  • Eww, that guy that hit on you was totally gross. He's probably a sex offender.

  • Your tales of San Francisco have totally sold me on New York. I like this box concept. That's how all people should be, everywhere. 24/7.

  • YAY I WIN!

  • @ 3:10, There is no such thing as a normal life...

  • You seem like such a nice girl. I would so definitely hang out with ya, but alas...I'm in Philly...congrats on the move though. Moving is a pain in the ass no matter where you move.

  • Yay, I win!! =P

Happy for you and Morgan, Erin :) The new apartment looks gorgeous. Watch out for creepy guys!! All the best to both of you<3

  • Sorry to hear u had to use an air mattress those things are horible, glad u had a safe trip

  • I never win anything :)

  • I love prizes! :oP

I'm so glad you two got there and have your things now! Congrats!

    -Leigh

  • Congrats on the move, ur going to love SF, its prob the most amazing place i've ever lived.. & yea as for the pp, get used to it...no one in the Bay area is exactly shy about approaching you..wayyyy more laid back than NY or LA

  • wait. You live in the bay now?! I live in Oakland.

  • Yayyyyy! I VVoN! :)

  • OOO i definitely look forward to more stories about the differences between the places you live :-D

  • Hi Erin , happy to see you and Morgan made it safely and are getting settled

    ttfn

    Christie

  • I won too ;D

Good luck living in San Fran and be careful of strange men!

  • There are certainly enough strange men to be careful of up there. Lots of 'em down here in LA too. *keeps an eye out for chasers*

  • I won! Glad to see you guys found your way there safely. You'll have no problem on the friend front. Be Careful!

  • Yay, I'm glad you made over to your new place. Wow, already you got hit on, but you did the right thing by shrouding off that person, not letting him come in. Putting all that to aside, the most important thingy is that you are happy.

  • Moving always has its trials!! Friends will come easy for you as you have an awsome personality!! ♥

  • 'Orright mush' . I win too, but my prize will be for you to take care of you and yours hun, and yes you do have a 'cracking place'. You may need to have a little more 'English reserve' than you normally have, overcoming your innate friendliness, but once you've settled in and got used to the idiosyncrasies of the area i'm sure you'll be fine. love + hugs to you and morgan (btw its Hampshire for "Ok friend" at the top) xx

  • trans-panic defense, it has begun to fail recently, thank goodness, congratulations on making your move, good luck!

  • ohmygosh!!!! you work in prevention ???? what do you do ?

  • I feel you on the whole box thing. I only look directly in front of me and don't normally talk to other people unless we are friends. A couple of times I have accidentally ignored some people and they were miffed, but apologies were given and I was forgiven.

  • my sister just moved to california XD

  • I won too! As my prize I claim an awesome cool video.

I hope the new house will give you and Morgan many happy memories.

  • I bet the prize is an emptied box. Since you have like a ton of them after unpacking your stuff.

If everything works out I'm gonna be moving, too. And then I can watch past my computer screen and see nothing but trees. It's gonna be awesome!

  • So glad you made it OK.Your life experiences are always so direct and honest you give more than you may realize. Please do made video's when you can although you will need some time for sure to get your bearings. What a lovely couple Morgan and Yourself are.Soon you will be celebrating Transgiving on the West Coast........Thanks for being YOU..........

  • Welcome you two !

  • Thanks! =)

  • Thanks! I was totally thinking that I wish I'd had one of those.

  • When I moved back into my mom's place, I slept on an air mattress for over 3 months, it was awful.I got a kinda crappy bed from target rather recently so I feel your pain.

  • She's alive! Good to hear SF's treating you well so far, though I think you can expect some requests for podcast appearances soon.

In regards to that guy... is carrying a katana legal in Cali? Think swords are generally more intimidating than guns, and it'd look badass if nothing else ^_^

    -Mara

  • podcast appearance invites?

  • *shrug* You're seen as one of the founders of the trans-movement on Youtube, considering the number of podcasts on the subject based out of the area it only seems like they'd want to interview you

  • Ahh... I've never gotten into the trans podcast scene... who knows, maybe I will be on one.

  • from below.... Rent the movie "Trained in the Ways of Men" or watch the Lifetime movie " A Girl like me: The Gwen Arajuo Story" for more information on the crime and the law.

  • Thanks... It was on the tip of my tongue.

  • its called "The Gay Panic Defense" and its illegal to use as a defense in California under a bill called the "Gwen Arajuo Justice for Victims Act (AB 164) gwen was a 17 yr old Trans girl who was beaten to death in 2002 for being trans. The attorneys for the defense used that argument in one of the trials. they were eventually all convicted and are serving varied sentences for the crime. The Act was written because of what happened in the trials. continued.

  • YAYNESS!!! Glad to see you made it safely! Ugh...men are pigs, did you tell him you're married? But yeah,... I'd love to hang out sometime, I'll bring my girlfriend and we can all go out and chill, or whatever the youngens say now'n days... lol!

Ah yes...when you figure it out...I would like my prize delivered asap!!! Seriously...I want my fucking prize!!! jk hun... ^_^

    Much Love,

    ~Amy

  • welcome to cali! you'll never have to leave, if you crave any kind of weather all you have to do is take out a map and drive to it

  • I win. The vlog was the prize.

Welcome to the this crazy place known as SF.

  • what do i win?

and welcome to CA! i live in davis, next time im in the bay we should do lunch!

  • I'm so jealous on your move to San Fran (it's one of my fav Cities in the World). Napa, Sonoma, Russian River at your doorstep.... Beats Madison WI hands down. Congrats - have a blast!!!

  • Telling him you're married would have ended the conversation. Be careful.

  • I.....need to update don't I. Seriously been meaning to. At least now I know how long it takes me on BART and bus, not that bad.

  • Almost forgot, you beat Ashley.

  • I know! And I waited a whole day too.

  • Welcome to the West Coast!

  • Girl, have you ever been to Arizona? Everyone is like "Hi! How are you? I'm great! *Wave* =D" it's really weird because Im in southern Nevada and nobody gives you a second glance. Lol.

  • Welcome to the west coast Erin :)

  • WELCOM TO CALIFORNIA! There is a place down by fishermans warf called "club fugazi" they do a famous play there called "beach blanket babalon." At least they did the last time I was in SF! Very campy and very funny. I'm in San Diego myself, but would rather be in San Francisco, I love it there!

    Cheers

    Angelina

  • If you've been following the Angie Zapata case in Colorado, her accused killer's attorney is using that defense

  • in the south there is no such thing as a stranger. Freaked me out too. BTW I win

  • Your going to have to get use to everyone talking to you :) It's actually kind of nice. Well gratz on the move, I love it there, and plan to move there sometime.

  • I win :D

  • You have something in common with the Giants; they moved from New York to San Francisco.

  • I won!

  • the weirdo didn't see your wedding ring? bleh. creepy.

your new place looks beautiful. how is it that you manage to be so amazing? stop it, you're making the rest of us look bad.

  • The wedding ring just means it will a challenge.

  • hahaha nice.

  • I win.

Good luck getting used to your new home. I went on vacation to San Francisco over the summer and it is beautiful there! Going there marked the first time I was on a plane, first time in CA. Just my luck I sprained my ankle really bad JUST before we planned on leaving, but I still was amazing. It really is a whole new world out there.

  • And this is not the place to have a sprained ankle.

  • hi erin

well done with moving in sweety but i will say watch yourself with that guy, last thing any of us want is something bad to happen to our favorite girl on here!

well we cant wait to see more vlogs filmed in your new home, it looks like you have found a cracking place!...

    hugZ!!!

    ~bethany

  • "Cracking"? Is that some english word? I like it.

  • i guess in ways its a bit brittish?

though what i used it in could have come off like saying your house is cracking to pieces, thats not so.

it's used like saying great, awsome or fantastic so feel free to use it girl!

a gift from me to you, enjoy!!

    hugZ!!!

    ~bethany

  • Mace. Mace and wedding rings.

  • You're back! Yay!! (^_^)

  • Glad to hear that you & Morgan got there ok & are settling in well. All the best...Jon.

  • Welcome to NorCal!

Yeah, we tend to talk to anyone & everyone....it'll become natural to you after awhile.

If you have any questions about the area, feel free to ask.

    Sandi

  • while visiting san francisco, i was driving and some idiot just dashes right in front of me... i honked... and he waved his hand in a friendly manner... wasnt expecting that

  • Yay I won a prize! And when you get your apartment all set up you should give us a tour! Pwease? I'll give you a cookie! eh, eh? Hehe, I'm glad you're transitioning fairly well into your place, San Fran should be a blast - best gay pride parade anywhere I'm sure!

  • There is a box, it just stretches from the San Fran to Arkansas. The prize should be a sticker, YAY stickers!

  • If Ashley and Kaylyn come back it would be really nice to see a shot of you all together. Hope you don't get tired of the sixth floor. I presume there is a lift which works. All the best to Morgan as well

  • i won the prize of watching your beautiful face for 9 and a half mminutes! good luck in your new apartment with morgan and with meeting new people. wish i could be one of them but i'm all the way over here in little old new hampshire so thats basically impossible but HAVE FUN! and sorry about the creepy guy. haha.

  • Hey if you two are ever in the East Bay and want to hang out, let me know. I'm relatively normal hah. I'm native and I still hate when men "holla" (for lack of a better word). I don't know if they are going to mug/rape me and I'd rather just move along than waste my time shooting the shit with some shady person. That sounds mean, but.

  • ooh - I watched it all - what's the prize? :-)

Hope you two are settling in well at your new apartment - by the way, u can touch an 8ft ceiling flat palmed and flat footed? HOW tall are you? lol, I'm about 5-9 and i can only just touch a 7-foot-6 ceiling.. how high are the new ceilings???

I had a pretty crap weekend but you were one of the things that kept me going cause you're an example of someone who's gone through crap and still have a positive outlook on life :-)

  • be careful of that guy...

best wishes in your new home...

    take good care and peace2U

  • yaaaaay i won!!!!!!!

i also live in san francisco, and yes people here are very friedly. hehhe, but that guy you talked about was just creepy!!
