  • God the musics annoying. Thankyou for guilding the lilly...^^

  • thank you for fixing alan watts he made no since until that music and video were added you are a genious.

  • बस दिव्य

  • @Ironrice1978 you are them, and they love them, therefore you already love them.

    pretty fucking easy huh?

  • GOD JEEEZZZZZZ

  • Song?

  • I love language and this blew my mind, Great video, the soundtrack actually made it better!

  • Thank God for Alan Watts. Thanks ThouArtThat for uploading these videos. Namaste.

  • I laughed on hearing this. Not because of mockery, but out of marvel.

  • Our common sense does not allow that things shape themselves...

  • Some of you might like to read the 'Law of One', it's free online just do a search. Very synchronistic with Alan has to say.

  • logical asumptions are scary. People stuck in a system of belief or thought is scary

  • @alienfetusllc your own fear of this is a system of belief or thought, so you too become victim to your own fear. flip this coin with your mind; or live in constant fear of your assumptions.

  • @jeremyfrancis who says i still even have that lol

  • @alienfetusllc haha. i thought of that, but i figured maybe someone else reading it might agree with your comment, so i took a shot. we're all obviously deep thinkers here, and in two months' span we go even deeper in our thoughts of the universe.

  • @jeremyfrancis i came from being very christian in belief. Now its kinda like what the hell is going on ahha =] i guess like there is soo many ways to look at something each point of view is kinda its own little matrix. Like to a person assumptions can be scary, another beautiful; it can be anything, like a Rorschach test. you are right to me, i suffer from my own views but views luckily change all the time =]

  • Who am I? am I mind? Since without mind I cannot be aware...

  • the best philospphical reality!!ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alan Watt's knowledge of particle physics falls apart a little bit at the end.

  • @taliesinbeynon | Elaborate?

  • i love allan watts, and i want to hear him talk. i hate it when the music overpowers and distracts from his lecture.

  • Was that a Kensho i just had listening to Uncle Alan lol!?He has been such a great teacher to me. Wish a few more people in the world had heard him. Robert Anton Wilson aswel has been a great help. Coincidence (or synchronicity) that these two were good friends??

  • "feelings like ideas, all seem real, yet in nature, the seed's environment plants whats real" ~indigenousman

  • ..."A myth is an image in terms of which we try to make sense of the world...But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be." ~Alan Watts...

  • This video is very beautifull. I wish it were in HD to see those amazing images in a reasonable clarity. The ideas presented here make me happy to see that there is individuals out there that understand that life is not understandable, but amazingly beautiful because of it. But I do believe that science should be expanded more and more to show each generation of this fact. If we give up then we never get the point that the universe is more beautiful every time we see more. To see more is life.

  • Phew!..made it!

  • awesome video : )

  • Fanfuckingtastic!!

  • what is thats at 1:33??

  • love alan watts! :)

  • five stars, hands up!

  • thanks for sharing...peace

  • does anyone know where too get the full complete lectures for free viewing? this guy is awesome i want more.i need more input.

  • check out alan's son, mark watts' channel...markwatts02

  • Alan Watts is the embodiment of sanity and logic.

Whatever form he has settled in now, his surroundings will be all the more introspective because of him.

  • i think he would say: 'both sanity and logic are vaguely relative terms' :)

  • @SpacedTime

Alan Watts was a drunk and a womanizer, who caused a great deal of grief to his family. Admitting this, I still love him dearly :) But his life was neither peaceful nor happy. He died at 57 from alcoholism. Rest in peace, beloved brother. May your next incarnation be less painful.

  • @coreolis7 People with higher intelligence tend to be a little 'insane'. Alcohol is the most often abused drug of the intellectual elite.

He died of heart failure in his sleep at his home on Mt. Tamalpais at the age of 58, not 57. Alcoholism probably shortened his life somewhat..... He wasn't happy with life, I agree. But, then again, which intellectual is? Once you're above the normal intelligence level you see the world how it is, not how you're told to see it. It can't be easy.

  • @joneselius I cannot agree with you more. Look at all the genius of our time. They never look happy, maybe they smirk a little for the camera, but that is the extend of their jubilation. I believe it is because once they know more than othe beings, they become lonely in the world they live in. Nobody can answer their question, but themselves, and they become with-drawn and isolated, in their own minds. They know that they are the only one like them in the world, and they are alone.

  • @SpacedTime

    I am him

  • @SpacedTime Such is of Zen :) and so much more

  • Alan Watts Rocks,

  • does truth exist, or does it exist because you believe it is there? Is there reality beyond conciousness?

  • No, yes and yes!

  • Truth is branded reality. A memicle.

If absolute truth does not exist than this very phrase is the absolute truth, hense it's existence.

    :)

  • x] nice

  • Tis truely unfortunate that most types of introspective enlightenment will see you exiled from many world religions. When you rise above the level of duality (yin/yang) then can be seen the vast intelligence and unity that is known as "I" .

  • Alan Watts had a lot of time on his hands. lol he used is wisely. lol

  • awesome!

  • There must be a absolut thruth. Those who say everything is relevant ignore this. Buddha, Allha, Jahve or any other cant all be true at the same time. Its inconsekvent cause they'r controversing each other.Jesus him self said: "I am the resurrection, and life he thet believeth in me, thoug he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? And: Said I not uto thee, that if thou vouldest beleave, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

  • "There must be a absolut thruth" Aside from being grammatical incorrect, this is wrong. Absolute truth? Speaking on truth (pertaining to religion and belief) is always subjective. Who says there must be some universal truth? Why can't several pieces of "truth" coexist? Believe it or not Jesus' opinions aren't anymore important than anyone else's. So you go ahead and follow your apparently small world view. And let others search for their own "truth".

  • Muhammed said that Allah has no son (Sure 9.30) but the bible in John 1,34 states that God has a son. Its impossible to unite these two religions but they both claim to bear fourth the absolute truth and they both claim to be the only having the answer to the way of salvation. In the book of acts (in the new testament part of the bible) chapter 4 and verse 12 its said that the name of Jesus is the only name given unto men which we can be saved by. These excludes Islam, hinduism and everyother.

  • "Its impossible to unite these two religions but they both claim to bear fourth the absolute truth and they both claim to be the only having the answer to the way of salvation."

Your right, as a whole those 2 religions can not be united. You said it yourself, they CLAIM to have so and so. You never addressed the other points in my comment. Anyone can claim to have anything, this does not mean they are right. Perhaps both the Koran and Bible have "truth" in them. Doesn't mean they are absolute.

  • Eather its true or its not. Eather white or totally black. Light or darkness. Dont be fooled! The Koran claim that God has no son. The hole foundation of christianity is based on the trinity teachings, God the father, the son and the holy ghost. The son was sent from heaven to earth and dwelled a short time in human flesh. Was not accepted by his own cind and condemned to death. But God the father raised him from the death and by his resurection he won a great victory and complited the task.

  • "Eather its true or its not" True.

"Eather white or totally black. Light or darkness." Says who? There is this color called Grey that is a mix of Black and White, not to mention the full spectrum of colors. I never said that every religion on the planet was compatible. Only that "Truth" can be subjective. While facts are objective. Yes those two things contradict each other. There is no proof that Jesus was really the son of God. But there is no proof that God doesn't/didn't have any children.

  • So they could both be wrong, or one could be right, or maybe even someone else is right.

  • Unfortunately you cant be a Muslim and think like that or you're ostracised

  • Watts RULES!

    Nice video!

  • Great VJing man, really good work !

Me and the world Thank you :)

  • Epic truths.

Where to go from here on a night surfing youtube?

    Nowhere.

    NN.

  • pieces of truth always float to the top, unexplained, misunderstood, denied.........

  • What is the music playing? I like this video! :D

  • I would also like to know what the music is in the background!

  • Truth, like air bubble under water, it can be hidden momentarily or obstructed, but always surfaces one way or another.

    Truth is...it just is.

  • What is truth? =]

  • Truth is anything, any idea, that can't be argued against. When you hear truth, you know it is.

  • But everything can be argued against, because what is true for some is not true for all. So i agree with what your saying as far as personal truth. But absolute truth... bleh.

  • that is correct, everything can be argued against, but that Truth won't change because you argue against it.

We are all concious beings is a truth that we can all agree on.

Energy can only be changed, not destroyed.

There are many Truths, just keep looking, inform yourself as much as you can, because it is a very long but fun journey.

  • "We are all concious beings is a truth that we can all agree on.

Energy can only be changed, not destroyed."

Those are facts =]. Believe it or not, "truths" aren't always considered fact, the terms are not always synonymous.

Right back at ya lol. But life isn't a journey because in a journey you have a destination in mind =].

  • How do you see your life?

Mine has been one of observance...just watching what happens, it is time for me to start acting and taking part in it soon, I feel it. There is way that I can explain it in words for anyone else to understand fully. But I do know that along the growth of my consciousness I have developed the abilities I wanted and now need to be part of this journey I personally call life...

  • As a song =].

I agree. If life(in the broader sense of the word) was so easily explainable, then it wouldn't be life. lol

  • Could you give me your understanding of Fact and Truth? I'm also curious how you perceive consciousness and what other senses have you developed, if any, besides the 5 most people are born with.

  • Fact : Something that is observable, has evidence, can be proven to be true.

Truth: Something that is BELIEVED to be true.

I tackle everyday with the 5 senses i was born with and logic =]. Well if i had to define consciousness (personally, not saying it is THE definition) is the ability to question one's existence.

  • It almost sounds like Fact supports science while Truth is more...shall I say...spiritual? hard to pick the correct word.

  • That sounds about right, or rather the closest we can get to it lol. It's not like facts can't also be "truth". But not all "truth" is fact. I think that sums it up.

  • Alan Watts on the other hand....

  • Alan keys can be such a smart ass when it comes to technicalities. I'm prob. one of the few that actually finds humor in him.

  • I love shit like this!!

  • "Alan Watts is always good but why does everyone put music over his clips? His words are interesting enough without music blaring over them. "

    I Think It Sounds Fantastic.

  • What is the music behind the words? Oh and thanks for Alan Watts. I'm new to him and i love it.

  • Excellent.

  • We do not shape the universe. The universe does not revolve around us.

  • what's this "universe" you speak of?

  • A noun?

  • why only 'uni'? why not 'multi'? Why do we constrain our beliefs to the idea that there is only one universe? We have no solid evidence about the far edges of our exsistence, and a guess or theory is some of the hardest evidence we have.

  • My own personal believe is that once you've unlocked the last bit of knowledge of the uni or multiverse or rather Existence its self then it'll all become undone and then even existence itself will no longer exists.

  • @calicheese23

well, we shape our universe. reality is dynamic. whatever we pursue with our senses, or our technologies-as our technologies are extentions of our senses--what we try to find, we see. quantum mechanics. some particles are only present during the act of observation.

if we change our consciousness, our reality reflects this shift. our scientific discoveries and observations will necessarily be reconfigured on a quantum level, changing its supposed form.

    fuck aristotle

  • @calicheese23 we are the unified multiverse.

  • did u stick the pic of a deer at 7:59 or was that some sort of software mishap?

  • did you change this? seems different than when i saw it the first couple times.

  • isnt this all a kind of Solipsism. I mean come on, the external world of objects is really out there, were not imagining it.

  • There is energy out there, I don't know that it can be called objects until subjects perceive it.

  • But to say the energy is "out there" is not exactly right. It is "in here", as well, as the matter composing our bodies and nervous systems. It seems that what we call "the world" arises in the interplay between the ordered energy within my skin taking the form of a membrane/brain and the energy without my skin existing chaotically. I don't see this as solipsism, though, because the ordered matter/energy composing each human being is nearly identical, and so we live in nearly identical worlds.

  • great vid, great visuals, great alan watts, amazing!

  • music sounds like caribou? who is it?

  • I wana live on a planet full of people like alan watts!! I can only imagine what that would be like..

  • alan watts and planet earth? =D

  • thanx ,Emil Brando on the web

  • In this video so much philosophy collides and merges, it's beautiful!

  • this video was sick! thanks so much. please continue your work with Alan Watts. :)

  • alan watts is so similar to nietzsche-heidegger!

  • in what sense?

  • very well done, im surprised you dont have more views. would love to see more like this.

  • Funny to go from Merleau-Ponty to Watts. Look like you're still obsessing about the same circularity to me. Good luck.

  • Thank you. Alan Watts leaves me speechless everytime i hear his commentary. What an intellect. Glad you're back!

  • dido, mate.

  • "Our language contains innumerable ghosts".

Great video, keep at it mate.

  • Clay is just a symbolic explanation for atoms and molecules wich would never could make sense in a time where humans werent able to understand such complexities, if you see things in time you ll understand, etcetc

  • The example of the man made of clay from the bible was taken to explain the point to a crowd of westerners (Because there lays a common base where the whole audience can understand the example).

In ether case "the bible has 80 faces" and nothing should be taken too literally.

  • thank you....thank you...spontaneous hello

  • thank you for the video, I love it. Listening to Alan Watts lecturing and watching nature go together well.

  • hah !

  • Good to see you again, Mork.
