@alienfetusllc your own fear of this is a system of belief or thought, so you too become victim to your own fear. flip this coin with your mind; or live in constant fear of your assumptions.
@alienfetusllc haha. i thought of that, but i figured maybe someone else reading it might agree with your comment, so i took a shot. we're all obviously deep thinkers here, and in two months' span we go even deeper in our thoughts of the universe.
@jeremyfrancis i came from being very christian in belief. Now its kinda like what the hell is going on ahha =] i guess like there is soo many ways to look at something each point of view is kinda its own little matrix. Like to a person assumptions can be scary, another beautiful; it can be anything, like a Rorschach test. you are right to me, i suffer from my own views but views luckily change all the time =]

This video is very beautifull. I wish it were in HD to see those amazing images in a reasonable clarity. The ideas presented here make me happy to see that there is individuals out there that understand that life is not understandable, but amazingly beautiful because of it. But I do believe that science should be expanded more and more to show each generation of this fact. If we give up then we never get the point that the universe is more beautiful every time we see more. To see more is life.
Alan Watts was a drunk and a womanizer, who caused a great deal of grief to his family. Admitting this, I still love him dearly :) But his life was neither peaceful nor happy. He died at 57 from alcoholism. Rest in peace, beloved brother. May your next incarnation be less painful.
@coreolis7 People with higher intelligence tend to be a little 'insane'. Alcohol is the most often abused drug of the intellectual elite.
He died of heart failure in his sleep at his home on Mt. Tamalpais at the age of 58, not 57. Alcoholism probably shortened his life somewhat..... He wasn't happy with life, I agree. But, then again, which intellectual is? Once you're above the normal intelligence level you see the world how it is, not how you're told to see it. It can't be easy.
@joneselius I cannot agree with you more. Look at all the genius of our time. They never look happy, maybe they smirk a little for the camera, but that is the extend of their jubilation. I believe it is because once they know more than othe beings, they become lonely in the world they live in. Nobody can answer their question, but themselves, and they become with-drawn and isolated, in their own minds. They know that they are the only one like them in the world, and they are alone.
Tis truely unfortunate that most types of introspective enlightenment will see you exiled from many world religions. When you rise above the level of duality (yin/yang) then can be seen the vast intelligence and unity that is known as "I" .
There must be a absolut thruth. Those who say everything is relevant ignore this. Buddha, Allha, Jahve or any other cant all be true at the same time. Its inconsekvent cause they'r controversing each other.Jesus him self said: "I am the resurrection, and life he thet believeth in me, thoug he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? And: Said I not uto thee, that if thou vouldest beleave, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
"There must be a absolut thruth" Aside from being grammatical incorrect, this is wrong. Absolute truth? Speaking on truth (pertaining to religion and belief) is always subjective. Who says there must be some universal truth? Why can't several pieces of "truth" coexist? Believe it or not Jesus' opinions aren't anymore important than anyone else's. So you go ahead and follow your apparently small world view. And let others search for their own "truth".
Muhammed said that Allah has no son (Sure 9.30) but the bible in John 1,34 states that God has a son. Its impossible to unite these two religions but they both claim to bear fourth the absolute truth and they both claim to be the only having the answer to the way of salvation. In the book of acts (in the new testament part of the bible) chapter 4 and verse 12 its said that the name of Jesus is the only name given unto men which we can be saved by. These excludes Islam, hinduism and everyother.
"Its impossible to unite these two religions but they both claim to bear fourth the absolute truth and they both claim to be the only having the answer to the way of salvation."
Your right, as a whole those 2 religions can not be united. You said it yourself, they CLAIM to have so and so. You never addressed the other points in my comment. Anyone can claim to have anything, this does not mean they are right. Perhaps both the Koran and Bible have "truth" in them. Doesn't mean they are absolute.
Eather its true or its not. Eather white or totally black. Light or darkness. Dont be fooled! The Koran claim that God has no son. The hole foundation of christianity is based on the trinity teachings, God the father, the son and the holy ghost. The son was sent from heaven to earth and dwelled a short time in human flesh. Was not accepted by his own cind and condemned to death. But God the father raised him from the death and by his resurection he won a great victory and complited the task.
"Eather white or totally black. Light or darkness." Says who? There is this color called Grey that is a mix of Black and White, not to mention the full spectrum of colors. I never said that every religion on the planet was compatible. Only that "Truth" can be subjective. While facts are objective. Yes those two things contradict each other. There is no proof that Jesus was really the son of God. But there is no proof that God doesn't/didn't have any children.
But everything can be argued against, because what is true for some is not true for all. So i agree with what your saying as far as personal truth. But absolute truth... bleh.
Mine has been one of observance...just watching what happens, it is time for me to start acting and taking part in it soon, I feel it. There is way that I can explain it in words for anyone else to understand fully. But I do know that along the growth of my consciousness I have developed the abilities I wanted and now need to be part of this journey I personally call life...
Could you give me your understanding of Fact and Truth? I'm also curious how you perceive consciousness and what other senses have you developed, if any, besides the 5 most people are born with.
Fact : Something that is observable, has evidence, can be proven to be true.
Truth: Something that is BELIEVED to be true.
I tackle everyday with the 5 senses i was born with and logic =]. Well if i had to define consciousness (personally, not saying it is THE definition) is the ability to question one's existence.
That sounds about right, or rather the closest we can get to it lol. It's not like facts can't also be "truth". But not all "truth" is fact. I think that sums it up.
why only 'uni'? why not 'multi'? Why do we constrain our beliefs to the idea that there is only one universe? We have no solid evidence about the far edges of our exsistence, and a guess or theory is some of the hardest evidence we have.
My own personal believe is that once you've unlocked the last bit of knowledge of the uni or multiverse or rather Existence its self then it'll all become undone and then even existence itself will no longer exists.
"We do not shape the universe. The universe does not revolve around us."
It might be true...what you said...
but it is no less true to say that the universe does not exist without the human perception of it. Meaning.... without our knowledge of the universe it is equal to say it doesnt exist.
well, we shape our universe. reality is dynamic. whatever we pursue with our senses, or our technologies-as our technologies are extentions of our senses--what we try to find, we see. quantum mechanics. some particles are only present during the act of observation.
if we change our consciousness, our reality reflects this shift. our scientific discoveries and observations will necessarily be reconfigured on a quantum level, changing its supposed form.
But to say the energy is "out there" is not exactly right. It is "in here", as well, as the matter composing our bodies and nervous systems. It seems that what we call "the world" arises in the interplay between the ordered energy within my skin taking the form of a membrane/brain and the energy without my skin existing chaotically. I don't see this as solipsism, though, because the ordered matter/energy composing each human being is nearly identical, and so we live in nearly identical worlds.
Clay is just a symbolic explanation for atoms and molecules wich would never could make sense in a time where humans werent able to understand such complexities, if you see things in time you ll understand, etcetc
The example of the man made of clay from the bible was taken to explain the point to a crowd of westerners (Because there lays a common base where the whole audience can understand the example).
In ether case "the bible has 80 faces" and nothing should be taken too literally.
Beyond brilliant.

Funny to go from Merleau-Ponty to Watts. Look like you're still obsessing about the same circularity to me. Good luck.
