  • Everytime I listen to this I well up. You know its a great song when it makes you cry.

  • It's unreal that this video only has just over 62 thousand views. This is raw passion and talent.

  • true art

  • four of the most beautifully talented men alive today

  • @queenrevenge you obviously know nothing about harmony

  • @tatbrat2001 It's still a horrible harmony.

  • @queenrevenge and you still know nothing about harmony

  • To bad you know a couple of them feel they already sold out. Guy in the yellow you can tell is not cool with it. He looks like he'd be happier playing on the corner.

  • @Garrnett1 how have they sold out? this is there first album so it's impossible to sell out. You need to have a style of music then change it dramatically to get more money and fame to be a sell out these guys have released just one brilliant album so havn't sold out at all thats just a thing people alllllllways like to say about any band that is remotely successful. And how can you tell the guy in the cap wants to play street corners just by his facial expression?

  • @MrHudson1988 exactly, it's called being successful.

  • @Garrnett1 You clearly know nothing about these guys if you think Winston doesn't love playing with Marcus, Ted and Ben. Absolute foolish words.

  • does anyone else see that marcus is crying? it makes this even more magical :')

  • They were definitely the top performers at the Brits, along with Adele of course.

  • Everything they do is perfect...no other band compares to them

  • i don't think the harmony they did here was that good as it usually is.

  • This performance inspired me to cover Timshel...come and have a look if you like :)

    Laura

  • My friend said, several weeks ago, that this song reminded him of me. I'm pregnant with my first child, a baby girl.... who I just learned today that I might possibly be her only connection to life. How appropriate is this song for my sweet little girl? It makes me cry.

  • Castlecomer's 'Amazing Grace' rivals this as a live acoustic performance. Their harmonies are unbelievable.

  • CHRIS FARLEY

  • i could listen to marcus' voice for a lifetime

  • all they need is that. some artists like..rihanna and plan b need all their extra shit to distract them from their "singing"..

  • CHECK OUT 3 GIRLS COVERING THIS ON MY CHANNEL!! (:

  • I love their modest little bowing bit at the end! Performers who bow at the end I truly respect! Because that means they respect their audience I LOVE MUMFORD & SONS.

  • I really enjoy your music, you are new to me. That may sound dumb but I am over 60.

I found your style and sound really nice, brought back good memories. Your sound seems to have no one group of people, All People. Just Wonderful. Keep up the great Music.

  • this song can be described as nothing but beautiful and exquisite and draws tears to my eyes

  • they really stood against that false show and proved that art doesn't need trinkets

  • i can't describe how perfect i thought this was.

i thought the set was just ... well perfect for the song.

  • heard this without any microhphones in Marcus and Ben's hometown in Wimbledon Theatre, truly a brilliant band

  • this is when i fell in love with them.

  • Wow just wow. Words could not express how beautiful this is

  • my favourite simply because it's so simple, just 1 guy on a guitar, a banjo and 4 singers... epic

  • i love the banjo players trucker cap :D

  • Big thank you to this band for being such a beautiful thing to listen to. And for the best show I've ever seen in my life.

  • Im really not into their kind of music.... but these guys are just amazingly fucking awesome!!!

  • <3 <3 <3 <3

  • I can only hope that this amazing band comes within 200 miles of my town this year so i can see them perform

  • Great - Just like Adele, they have such good talent that they don't need strobe lights, backing dancers and massive props (take notes Rihanna) :)

  • doesn't anyone else notices the dramatic expression on marcus' face? I seems like he's really emotional singing this song. I might be wrong, but I think it's because Laura Marling is in the audience. You know the rumour of her dumping Marcus becuase he cheated...

Great song!! Great performance!! Great band!!

  • @MsRosy45 What a shallow ignorant comment. So basically songs now have to be all techno and modern and bands have to all look pretty to be able to make good music? That's the biggest load of bull there is. This music is not dated and old, this is pure, simple, and soulful. And so what if the band isn't a bunch of strapping young men, since when is musical talent depended on looks? Last time I checked, looks don't sing.

  • I can not stop watching this .... love this performance. They are going to go so far.

  • what had God in mind when he brought you to the world?

no matter what, I thank him for this !!!

  • One mike, four voices, one instrument...and they still blow everyone away..true musical talent does not need a lot of crap.

  • @102191081808 two instruments actually

  • @tigerswell I stand corrected!! LOL

  • Beautiful

  • This is a great video. So great that I just peed my pants. Whoa.

  • @JackGMarch I think you missed the point. To get from the studio to a great live performance, all Mumford and Sons needed was a guitar, a banjo and their voices. Adele who is a vocalist artist just like Take That only needed her voice and a piano.

The point is that the 4 members of Mumford and Sons, having played the Grammy's two days earlier, a show in LA the night before and flew back just that morning, showed more collective talent than the 100+ "members" of Take That and musical computer

  • just.. love this.. there is nothing more to say then wow!

  • They are the best band live I've ever known and they don't need flashy gimmicks like strobe light or loads of dancers. The candles just finished that amazing atmosphere they have.

  • just... love this.. there is nothing more to say then wow!

  • i think they intentionally chose this song to show that a breath taking performance does not always involve glitz and glamour! and oh god they should the british public that! bands like mumford and sons need more recognision than the likes of tinie tempah! adele was also absolutely amazing! both mumford and sons and adele stand for proper music! and long may they live :)

  • Simple. beautiful, pure. I was singing at the top of my lungs the entire time. Mumford and Sons are truly inspiring.

  • This is the performance that made me like then. I've now bought Timshel and Little Lion man off iTunes.

  • best performance at the brits by far

  • an amazing performance, and they didn't have to go over the top like everyone else did. they can just show their pure talent without having to have dancers, a backing track etc. they obviously showed everyone else up:')

  • This would have been their choice... No dancers ... No gimmicks... Just pure talent, I've seen them live and they really are truly brilliant!

  • i have goosebumps.

  • Shush -_-

    Timshel is Beautiful. Just Beautiful.

  • If you wanted them to play Little Lion Man or The Cave, you don't get it at all.

  • Good song :D would have preffered little lion man tho :P

  • plant yourself in good seeds don't cover yourself in thistle and weeds

  • well....................this is original.

I still prefer the idea of flashing lights and dancers tho!

  • This is soooooooooooooo amazing, Mumford and Sons are THE BEST!

  • winston looks so reluctant to be there hahaha

  • Awesome to see this performed Live!!!

  • wow... amazing :)

  • there's something magical in how they perform live...

    i can't get over it

  • Stunning. Stunning... ¬_¬

  • Did no one realise that this was meant to be a massive "fuck you" to the music industry? It was purposely done to show the simplicity and purity of great music as opposed to Plan b, Rihanna and take that at this show. That's why I love these guys. So genuine, so emotive and so fucking awesome!

  • Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. <3

  • Excuse my language, but they are just so Fucking GENUINE!

They are clearly shitting themselves, but still pull of that!

Whoever says Timshell was a bad choice is wrong, they're sick of playing their singles all the time! They can play what they wont!

  • @FolkMusicWins so true

  • I love the look of emotion on Marcus's face @1:04

  • beautifully understated

  • ♥ amazing!

  • Had no idea these guys were from the UK until I saw them at the Brits... How did we produce this?!

  • @urrrbanfox British music is and has always been 500 000 000 000 times better than any other country's music, I say that and I'm not even English!

  • @urrrbanfox Because this is what makes BRITAIN GREAT!!!!!! <3

  • I agree, great performance but bad choice of song for that kind of setting

  • @willbande Or not.

  • I love this song and Mumford and sons but dont think that people who have never listened to them before would like this song Would have loved to hear them play Winter winds,The cave or Little Lion Man

    Mumford and Sons :)

  • feckin' NOM NOM

  • I love this song, it's beautiful.

  • the level of respect they got off the crowd at the arena is disgusting. Shouting and talking and not even listening to mumford. It was like they're not even there...

I don't know why they picked Timshel to play. It would of probably of been for the best if they had choose something a tad more familiar to those uneducated sheep which are the O2 Arena audience, i.e. daytime radio 1 listeners...

    Much hate.

  • What a fantastic stage set-up!

  • Amazing performance, I'm not surprised they always give great performances as for the song glad they went with Timshel it is not known outside of the fanbase and a great way for one of their other songs to be heard.

  • Absolutely love the Mumfords but not too much that I can't admit when they do wrong. Love the song, love the album but lost opportunity here, I feel. An amazing live cover of Little Lion Man or The Cave would have given them a huge boost in the charts. And it didn't help that the stripped down, acoustic style had already been totally nailed by Adele earlier.

  • Comment removed

  • How much more elegant and stark can you get. The gentlemen of the road just keep proving that you don't need gimmicks to make a great reputation and that you really do need talent to make great music.

  • peace, love and Mumford and Sons.

  • I love them so much!!! lol I wish they wouldhave performed Little Lion Man or The Cave but who cares I love all their songs so it doesn't really matter :D

  • i think this and adele were THE performances of the night and epitomise what singing is all about.

  • love it

  • I think this song did them justice. But it might just be my chosen style of song.

  • Take That: Boyband, with overrated singers, and a whole lot of money put into making their performance ''beautiful''

Mumford & Sons: Four men around one microphone, with candles to light up the stage, whose harmonies and singing is absolutely breathtaking

  • It's just so nice to see music being performed without all the extra shit. Of course these guys can actually sing and play so they don't need to cover anything up. Long live real musicians!

  • Super Like!

  • They're so deserving of greatness, that's the best part of this all.

And seeing them get recognition really just lights up everything beautiful about human creativity, doesn't it?

    Congrats' guys. =)

  • It's unbelievable how this has 1,050 views yet Rihanna's horrible performance has over 250K views, this just shows hire dire the state of music is today. Real talent like this get's overshadowed by people who aren't really all that talented.

  • from Balcony TV to Brit Awards ...

  • This has been favourited by Mumford and Sons official chanell. Well done.

  • In their defense, they did just get off a plane from LA and are completely jetlagged. So considering the circumstances, I think they sound just fine.

  • I agree with a lot of the comments here. I thgink they are very talanted and unique but it just lacks something for me. maybe im brainwashed by the crappy pop that were used to but as much as i wanted to love them, i just couldnt. its nice and they are talanted but not for me. no offence :O)

  • This kind of music makes my heart burst.

  • Bit boring tbhnot the kind of thing that u want to c at the brits

  • Hello we are Take That can we have 100 dancers and a shitie backing track to our song,

Hello we are Mumford and Sons pass me my guitar, and just the one mic between 4 of us!

Hope Take That were making notes! thats how you do it

  • @3fingersaway you are so right an amazing band makes my hair stand up every time I hear them :D

  • @3fingersaway dude, take thats performance wouldn't of made any sense without dancers, mumford & sons didnt need dancers because they have a slow beat in all their songs.

and they have a backing track because there vocalists, fuck sake, don't just dis' them because they can only sing, if mumford & sons were that much better take thats album wouldn't of been number 1 for 6 weeks.

i'm more of a mumford fan than take that, but that wasn't a very true fact, so just shut up, ffs.

  • @JackGMarch you're a moron. the music is the only thing that matters not the fucking dancing and special effects. if take thats music is only good and makes sense if they have some big production then it isn't good music

  • @3fingersaway Their two different kind of groups..

  • @TheDuZT but musicians are they not?

  • @3fingersaway

Hello, as to TT - this is what the public expect from them, unfortunately. They might be great at big shows but it would be nice if they do some acoustic performance like that one recorded at Abbey Road studio.

Going further I think they are not allowed to play music similar to Mumford - media and fans(fans of rock/blues/roots music) would never accept them, don't ya think?

  • @3fingersaway

    continuation (2)

Mark Owen had this unpleasantness to find out how it is if an ex boy band member want to play genuinely personal, singer songwriter and rockier type of music. But as I told people didn't give him a chance, mainly because he was the cute one from a boy band. With such past you just can't be successful as a serious artist, even if you're talented.

  • @3fingersaway

    continuation (3)

I'm not kidding, listen to "They Do", "Come On" or honky tonk ditty "Waiting for The Girl" - or anything from "How The Mighty Fall" album, you might be surprised...

I don't know why I even try to explain, people like you won't even listen to his solo stuff because it has "embarrassing music" tag

And on the other hand fans of TT don't grasp his talent- for them Owen's music is too quirky

  • 12 views? Mumford deserve a lot more, get this video our there, people need to watch it !! What strikes me as weird is how they won best album in 2011 when it was released in 2009, quite wierd if u ask me

  • another mind blowing performance by these guys, fully deserve their recognition. Never seen a more contrasting brit awards with all the dancers and rubbish of take that and rihanna compared with the purity and epicness of mumford &sons, arcade fire and adele.

Its not their best song by far, dont know why they chose it only to shock the arena and to show how pure and breathtaking music should be. If your still not sold check out the cave, little lion man and thistle and weeds

  • @kpowef I think it's their best song.

  • @kpowef I honestly think this song is better than Little Lion Man and The Cave. Well.... I guess it just depends on the day, my favorite song of theres changes every day..or week :p

  • @kpowef Check out Below my feet and Lover of the Light. incredible

  • @kpowef I too own a radio, so yes I've heard The Cave and Little Lion Man. I don't mind hearing something new. :)

  • Amazing as always, I am so disappointed at the lack of views this has :(

  • Stunning

  • Hi, What is it about them that makes you want to like them?

  • @bocs4ngelica because I normally like this type of music and everyone keeps telling me to check them out because they are great.

  • I want to like them but I just cant, sorry, this wasn't great.

  • @LowleyUK They don't do much for me either. They are musically talented, but overall I just don't believe their passion. I do think this was a good live performance though.

  • @mcelderry111 Yeh I agree they are musically talented but I just feel the songs are a bit mediocre? Not that I could do any better ofcourse :D
