@intheekeyofcrime There's a six and a half minute version on Heroin Hates You - a live album done in late 79 with Glen Matlock on bass (Sex Pistols!) and Brian James from The Damned on Guitar, recorded on the "Soldier" tour. I don't think HHY was officially released, but I have seen it on vinyl before. I think the CD version comes with more tracks though.
Yeah .... I bought this and the 'Low' album at the same time. So i've always seen them as a matched set of records. It's also what started my transition from prog-rock (Yes, ELP, etc.) to punk rock. Along with the first two Ramones albums and of course 'Never Mind the Bollocks'... Wow...I was only 17 and had no clue I was listening to a lot of, now, historical music. I just wanted get stoned and run around.
Iggy Pop is the best. I've seen him twice 20 years apart, still Raw Power. I'm so glad that Kiss and Rush have been ignored by the R& R Hall of Fame. Doctor Love ( I've blocked out his name) can Kiss my ass. What an embarrassment to Rock and Roll. They're not even an adolescent joke. They Suck!!! Many more years Iggy, More and more of those tight jeans with your pubes hangin out. :)
Just think. In one year, 1977, David Bowie made no less than 4 brilliant albums that have stood the test of time: Low, Heroes, The Idiot, Lust For Life. That's more than most artists accomplish in a lifetime.
@mmmoosk True that & look how meny times he experimented with styals & he influanced soo meny!! he did easily in the 70's for music what the BEATLES did in the 60's
@oldrestless Bowie and Iggy co-wrote The Idiot and Lust For Life, and recorded the songs with more or less the same musicians Bowie worked with for his classic albums Low and 'Heroes'.
.....and a generous guy for he helped Lou Reed with Transformer (1972) Mott The Hoople with All The Young Dudes (1972) and Iggy Pop The Idiot (1977) Lust For Life (1977)

@resonantfilterblog Peter Murphy also did a great cover of this tune - look for the "cabaret" version.

I feel "Raw Power" was the best album. That was the heart of Iggy & The Stooges in the raw without David Bowie.
