My heart cries out when I see those lies the Nortrhern Korean state are filling the children with. To live in North Korea must be like you canno't breath fresh air though you are not aware of it because this is the only life the state shows you. If North Korean society is so great why can't you leave? If the society is so great why is everything to blame on imperialism and US? I was almost laughing when I saw the scene that the electricity shortage was due to American imperialism! So tragic!

Reading the comments I'm surprised that you think this is bad, these people are of the elite in NK they are the very few who are very lucky. If you just travel a tiny bit outside this 'studio-city' you will find that the people are living in disgusting conditions, dying of hunger. Even resulting to cannibalism!! Millions spent on aid from many countries/charities end up being directed to the military, never reaching those who NEED it.

If I were American, I doubt I would have been able to go, but because I'm Canadian, they let me in. I was the only white guy there, I'm sad to tell you. We bought things with American money, including a bottle of alcohol with a snake twirled around in it. It was mandatory to attend the circus. I talked to many North Koreans. They seemed ok.

I hope all you who watched this realize that this could happen in this country if we continue to let our Federal gov't expand as it chips away at our civil liberties and our so-called free market capitalist system. We need to elect leaders in our gov't who are not busy-bodies and will work to reduce the size and scope of gov't all the while deregulating our economy and society and leaving it in the hands of the people to decide. Freedom and peace is the only way for real prosperity for all us.

To be honest nothing like this could ever happen to western countries, primarily because we have one thing the north koreans don't; communication. Primarily the internet. The typical North Korean has not even the slightest idea of how the west is like, they only think of us as imperialists because they are told to think that. Most of them don't even know people have walked on the moon. This severe lack of knowledge is what allows the dictatorship to continue.
