It's absolutely awesome, you can take control of solar sytems and the individual planets in all of these solar systems, you can upgrade your planets infrastructure and put structures in orbit, and the battles are very detailed and demands tactical ability.

I agree, it's pretty cool, but if you are new to games like this, it may be a little overwhelming; the interface is a little complicated at times. It is really fun, though.

First of all, don't buy games based on reviews - they are ALWAYS an exaggeration. Or, if you do, base it on User reviews, because they aren't getting paid to say what they do.

And as solozaur said, Eve online and this cannot possibly be compared... they aren't even in the same genre!

Dude, this is one of the most complicated 4XRTS games in history, it was made on a budget of less than 1 mil, and it was designed so simply that a 4th grader could crush a fleet on it. So go back to playing online mayaNERD!

I dont understand how everyone likes HW battles better. How are Soase ships able to move so fast when they are the size of small cities. The bombers and fighters on the other hand, can move

that fast since they are much smaller. Sins battles i think are just a bit more realistic.

The battle is just a small part of the game, so homeworld battles are still better.

I like the phase jump effect, but buildings and planets could be bigger (somewhat bigget than the sun).

Hmmm. I also like homewrold, because of the 3d movement and overall ship manuvering. In this game ships are just standing there shooting at eachoder. The empire builder is kinda nice and simple though. A bit too simple, only complicated by the research.

I like this game, because of the many many posibilities it offers in strategy, how to position troops, wich planet to fortify etc. I like it becaus of great chances of strategy.

This game looks alot like O.R.B., and I love O.R.B. I'm gonna get this for sure.

That battles don't look as intence in this game as they do in ORB.

I dont think it's sold anymore but it was about two alien races that were at war with one another because both of thier worlds lived off the same resourses, so basicaly these two races want to take one anothers worlds so that they can survive. If you DO manage to find the game I deeply recomend buying it.

u can make the maps insanly huge in this game. there isent any limit XD. as for an example. i made a map that had 40 solar systems and 1000 planets. the game was suitable for 300 players XD

This game is far better than HW, just as good when you are zoomed in, but the thing is that the entire universe is one huge raging battle. It's an empire builder, but instead of loading up the map when you enter a battle, you just zoom in. Everything about it is real time. That's what makes the game so perfect.

It's only possible to try the beta right away if you preorder. If you preorder with cd option you also get the collector's edition (lots of special stuff) when the game ships in Feb. I'm biased as to whether it's fun or not, but the beta testers have been playing incrementaly better versions since March and most of the feedback has been extremely positive and everyone is really excited about the finished product. Many claim it's worth the money even in it's current unfinished state.

I'm with the company and you can get in on the beta by preordering at the game's website (which youtube won't let me post :P). These videos are from early beta 1 and we are now in mid-beta 2 which is quite a bit better. We expect two more beta's before release in February. The beta process began so early because we wanted a long period of stability and balancing testing and so that we could get a lot of feedback on gameplay features from those interested in having a say in the final product. :)

the ships are slowed down to make the game easier to manage this one battle is probably not the only one going on at the same time, homeworld uses single planets this game uses many systems, there are a few interviews out there that enplane it better

I'm seeing Homeworld 2 only the interface (bless those Stardockians) still looks like a Windows skin. The fleets aren't that different though, people say HW2's were small cause of the cap, but the high cap allowed for a pretty damn huge fleet.

I'll still bite though, Homeworld is genius.
