At about 1:45 this seems to go from someting older to something rather newer. If you listen closely the narrator's voices seems to suddenly age by about a decade or more!
I started out thinking this was part of a documentary Mtv did about 1986, entitled "from the Beginning", then suddenly it's VH1 Behind the Music.
I think I'm right. They used the Mtv piece as the beginningn of the later documentary!
It's a pitty they just don't mention Ray Wilson. Calling all stations was a good album and Ray performed very well. They should give that era a little more credit.
Yeah, but this was the beginning of the show. They did touch on it a bit in the real doc...briefly though, since in the US, it was not a factor in the overall career of Genesis, cos we didn't care about them without Phil. Unfortunate as that may be, it's true.
I think they should release the old early Genesis performances to DVD/Blu-ray. Thats very long overdue considering Peters theatrics...perhaps they will in the future hence the title incuding the dates "1981 - 2007". In which case I ask for it to be released quickly!

The decline into full on mainstream music didn't happen when Gabriel left, it happened when Hackett left.

They did in the actual doc. You even see him a bit and hear "Congo" playing in the background at around 2:03.

You are right but it's just one or two seconds. Almost like it was forced to appear somehow.

In the full Behind The Music, there's a song with Anthony Phillips on vocals. Does anybody know the name of that song?
