High energy or puker....it doesn't matter what you call it....I still do it that way today!!
I keep it upbeat and interesting every airshift....if they want mellow and fall asleep....there is an easy listening station a little a couple numbers down!!
I love this clip...wish you would post some more....sort of my motivational shot on some of those off days!!
I loved how he said " downtown" In Naples? I would love this station to be on the air here instead of that crap that's on now. Radio was ruined by deregulation. and the music industry. VT and shadow casting. Thank God for Youtube at least we can watch good radio
Homeboy has roughly 18 seconds to get all of that out.. Station, moniker, weather forecast, and current temps in 3 locations on the outro of 1 song into the post of another. A part-time VT'er couldn't do that LIVE to save their life...gotta respect the skills of REAL RADIO DJ'S
You are 100% correct, Brian. CHR Radio in the 80's was all about' Get In, Get It said, and GET OUT FASTT!!) Mid to late 80's was a great time in hit radio. I had a couple of small market full time gigs, then went P/T in a major market for a few years. Been out of the game for 12 years now and miss it some...but the VT and Canned stuff anaps me back to reality. Great Job.

everyone in the 80's wanted to be a puker, no matter what the format! It took me until 2005 to realize that "being natural" was a style that really wasn't natural.
This guy has got it together...he must have been all of 18 at the time of this video doing what appears to be nights at a decent station...now the guy is doing network voice overs and movie trailers...talk about goal oriented, I wish I had that kind of determination, drive and vision in 1988. Better late than never...thanks for being an inspiration Brian.

I think that styles awesome. 80's radios dj's needed a bit of flair like that. Who wants to listen to someone drone on
Gurrier 3 years ago
Pukers were in the 1970s (this guy is not a puker). The '80s were just high energy when top-40 became a decent format again.
