  • check out my video of the Geneva Ballet Show dancing to Zak Ba Daz. Magnificent performance with clothes by Isabel Toledo.

  • Good music, despite having been overly used by other choreographers.

The choreography is very weak and full of clichés of (dejà vue) European dance.

The dancers do not know how to express in this language and the costumes too fattening.

    Sorry....

  • Splendide...Merci

  • ArkiVisuA!..

    Dance *!*

  • Original composer is Henri Purcell (1961)

  • Well-made piece of modern and cold ballet, indeed. The syncopated voice appropriate for the topic

  • @JOSEMERO49 This comment is so blatantly ignorant, I don't know where to begin. Comments like these aren't good for one's health. They're going to find me dead in my bathroom one day of an aneurism and it's going to be youtube's fault. Thanks a lot.

  • This version of the "Cold Song" from Henry Purcell's 1691 opera "King Arthur" is sung by Klaus Nomi. The orginal part was written for bass and sung by the character "Cold Genius" as he reluctantly awoke from his slumber.

  • awesome, and what is the music.!?

  • @farhaadyousefi the cold song by klaus nomi

  • music is from Henry Purcell

    kind regards. piet

  • @81920011 The Cold Song by Henry Purcell from his dramatic opera 'King Arthur' (circa 1691); here very beautifully sung by Klaus Nomi.

  • @marcgibsontube Klaus Nomi? You mean, the one born 24 I 1944? (Date just found on Google.)

  • @Siristaromen Yes, the one and only Klaus Nomi, (born Jan.24th, 1944), very beautifully performing music by the one and only Henry Purcell, (born Sept.10th, 1659).

  • @81920011Pardon me for correcting you but it's by Henry Purcell the English composer and it was written in the late 17th Century. It is from the opera King Arthur. This is a pop interpretation of it.

  • @farhaadyousefi This is the aria 'What power art thou' from Henry Purcell's opera King Arthur (1691)

  • In this video, Klaus Nomis ings Purcell’s strange aria The Cold Song from the English 17th century baroque opera King Arthur

The opera’s composer Purcell died in 1695 from incurable T.B. aged 36, while in 1983 Klaus sadly died succumbing to complications due to Aids, aged 39. Both men were remarkably talented but died so young.

  • @ElfoMor ———- Purcell’s Cold Genius ———–

What power art thou, who from below Hast made me rise unwillingly and slow From beds of everlasting snow See’st thou not ( how stiff )2) and wondrous old Far unfit to bear the bitter cold, I ( can scarcely move or draw my breath )2) Let me, let me freeze again to death.3)

    ——————————-

  • @farhaadyousefi it's "King Athur, of Purcell. that precise moment is "What power art thou" that, centuries later , klaus Nomi ended up singing (in his own way) calling it, god knows why..."the cold song".

  • @firstlaughinghyena Well it makes sense. It is a cold song. The lyrics implying someone is freezing to death...the way it's sung also...very staccato which is reminiscent of shivering.
