you can make 600hp on a stock bottom end 99,01 cobra but you need an efficient blower such as a turbocharger. What many people don't realize is that if this car was making 600hp the internals were actually having to hold at least another 100. Horses which never see the ground because the engine needs that power to drive the vortech he has on there. Thats why I changed my oil every 2500 mile when I had a V2 on my 99 cobra.

since when does a gt have a 4.6 "dohc"? gts have a "sohc" you can clearly see the silver valve cover used on 03 04 cobras... and only 03 04 cobras have the roots type blower... this one isa 99 its naturaly aspirated...and as far as it saying mustang in the airbag it does on evey model even cobras and mach ones the only difference is the steering wheel engraving... this one blew cause it has an aluminum lower end stock internals dont fair so well at 500+ hp .

That is an old cobra, it wasn't built to be blown. 03-04 cobras upgraded to manley connecting rods for supercharged applications. The compression ratio would have been too high too. Sorry charlie you can't play with a stock bottom end.

The opposite the 03-04 can handle tons of boost But the one in this video is the old 99-2001 model. Aluminum block much higher compression ratio and the bottom end is not the same. I had an 04 with 15psi and it was a rocket, not a single problem. It was purpose built for boost the older one was not. Although a little work and it would handle it just fine.
