Reading through the comments it appears some people need some background. This video was shot at the Retreat, that building he ran out of is a cottage that isn't designed to withstand that much wind. He ran to the clubhouse, which is better designed to hold people and withstand wind. He was freaking out because the tornado was no more than a mile away. So yeah, the tornado was right there. In that he could die any minute.

College kids can be so stupid. Running around (RUNNING! On foot!) when there is a storm with 200 mph winds closing in on you instead of finding the safest place to be and hunkering down. Pay attention to the weather, have a tornado emergency plan in place and stick to it. Do NOT depend on sirens (usually can't hear them unless you're outside). And running around swearing won't help, either. No, that's NOT a normal response. I'd expect most people to be praying for God to save them.

Oh, and I feel sorry for Tuscaloosa. I live 20 miles south of Joplin Missouri. I bought the computer monitor I am using now in Joplin just a couple days after the tornado affected that town and I saw what tornadoes do first hand. It is pretty fucking awful! I am VERY GREATFUL that nothing like this has ever directly affected me!

Not only were the Sirens blaring, but police officers were screeching up and down the highway. We're hit with tornadoes a LOT. The reason for these sirens not going off was because the building that sets off the sirens was hit by the tornado within the first 10 mins of it's groundtime. Get your facts straight.

I live in Mississippi near the Alabama border, and tornadoes are very rare here. Moreover, I lived there and I've visited the state of Alabama many times and never witnessed a tornado. In other states like Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma tornadoes are frequent, there are sirens used to alert the population.

I recorded a Tornado in Oklahoma 5 days before that. I was right below the funnel and it was very scary. We drove away from it just to get caught in the path of it again and we were right below it again in my car getting nailed by hail and blowed around by the wind. @SpookyBrownEye Were you drunk when you responded? I get the middle of your incoherent rambling a bit, but why you are speaking of scripts and MTV is beyond me. I'll say this as plainly as I can. The fact that her first thought was for herself, when the tornado is clearly not moving towards her, is entirely selfish. The lack of compassion is fucking sickening. And for you to say that you would act similarly shows quite a bit about your character, as you're saying it without even (cont.)
