A blanket is a convection (flow) limiting device. It keeps the air still so that heat transfer from cold surfaces to hot surfaces is limited. With the air still, thermal conduction dominates.

Have you ever done a hydrogen extraction and combustion experiment? There is a reason we do not use hydrogen directly without a catalyst.... It is way too volatile. It has one electron meaning it will bond with anything except inert materials. That is why the closest we have come to using hydrogen is the hydrogen fuel cell which uses a catalyst mechanism.

However, the data should not have been truncated because A. You don't combine multiple datasets and represent it as a single set and B) It is obvious when comparing the tree ring proxy to real temps that the proxy data was bad anyway.

The evidence as flawed, even the IPCC climate models cannot explain the total lack of warming during the last decade whilst CO2 has risen by 35%. The total warming since the turn of the century is 0.44c, which is a tiny fluctuation (source - UN IPCC) .
