  • It's not an ebook it's an ebook reader you tard!

  • all those of you comparing this to ipad & other netbooks r not getting the point of ebook readers- they r easier to read & cause less strain on the eye.

if you read a lot ( like 200-500 pages books) then this is a big factor in getting these kinda devices.

it may look big compared to the thin & sleek tablets of today, but if you compare it to a regular book then its actually thinner. & it has some journaling capabilities as well.

Obviously if u r not much of a reader, this product is not for you

  • more low end crap

  • I bought one of the original ebook readers (about the same size as one of the screens on this puppy) - very awkward to hold. I thought a hinged 2 screen device would be the best way to go after that and hesitate to buy the Sony or Kindle devices because they still have that ergonomic problem.

This looks too big tho....they need to shrink it down to a paperback size.

  • @hydemd they have pocket version which is smaller & costs less too...

i am looking at buying the pocket version & was confused between that & this full sized version...but ur comment helped me...i also think that smaller would be easier to hold...

  • That has got to be one of the dumbest device and most awkward looking device ive ever seen D:

  • imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/c/ce/IMSLP05509-Bach_-_BGA_-_BWV_714-740.pdf

this wep page is open... possible?? in bebook neo?

(sorry, i am poor et english)

  • so its soo hard to put everything on one screen ?

  • This doesn't make sense, all you need is a regular netbook and you can download almost any ebook of any format onto that netbook. I read almost every format on my computer now. Also a netbook has a camera on it and a fully functioning keyboard.

  • dinasour product

  • shiteo fail

  • very nice concept... but it lacks he styling and refinement of a product from apple or android

  • just buy the ipad ffs. like the rest of the world!

  • It looks so early 80's... almost like a gadget from Thats 70's show.

  • that is so stupid the ipad is so much better

  • Ruining the MS Courier expectancies.

  • @MasterDemon25 OH no! hahaha

  • PRETTY STUPIDIF U ASK ME

  • looks like an ugly version of the Microsoft courier

  • That does not look like a comfortable to use ebook or netbook. I'm not interested.

  • hope someone make a Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy edition of it.

  • it's such a ugly color display !!!

  • im so sorry but i prefer the ipad from this

  • @ferdinmd

Is this even comparable to the iPad? the iPad isn't an ebook reader. You may as well compare it to the Archos 5 or the Microsoft Zune.

  • its a big ass nintendo DS!!

  • ome more way to radiate your brain

  • looks like the new DS lol

  • I'm so lame, I buy real books with real pages.....I mean how lame is that omg

  • thatd be really great 4 road trips..... :D

  • cool concept.

  • If th handwriting recognition is decent, then this could potentially be a good notepad replacement, especially if the user could control the line thickness.

  • What a piece of shit.

  • sony DS?

  • So, why do you need the eBook monochrome side when you have the touchscreen netbook side? I'm confused.

  • Because e-ink is generally less straining to the eyes for reading.

  • AAHH, that makes sense!

  • You should watch my video, ENJOY!!!

  • looks plastic

  • the people who make this crap must surely know it will never sell. horrible.

  • @sparced

but if it had a shiny apple logo it would be the greatest thing ever though right? at least this thing is innovative. it's not just a giant ipod touch lol.

  • so true

I'll buy it if it has a good book store

  • @tikal111 yes the iPad looks like a big iPod touch. But if you've ever used one one you'd get it! it really is so much different!!!!!!! the apps are insanely amazing on it! You can also use iWork!!!!!!!!

  • @97576701 You really....really......really really really.......need to get laid my friend.

  • ill just use a paper and pencil

  • i know. i masturbated to her hands

  • looks ugly

  • Needs to be a single screen that can transition between an ebook screen and a normal screen.

  • next to impossible

  • @lowmax64 I like the fact that it has a book format so you can type on one screen and see what you type on the other instead of an awkward tilt. :]

  • I could not stop thinking why do you need 2 screens? why is the ebook seperated from the netbook? I could see dual screen to extend desktop and run multiple apps of your choice but what a waist of a screen if one end is strictly for ebook

  • I agree that both sides should be used for whatever, but essentially one was dedicated to readin, while the other could be used for multi tasking similar to a dual screen on a computer. I think the thing is kinda pricey in general though. Specially if there is going to be a monthly fee for internet access unless you can pick up any wireless network.

  • I think it's a steal at this price. The Kindle DX just has the eInk display, without the pen input (Wacom digitizer), and costs the same as this device. The iRex DR1000 has the same size eInk display with Wacom digitizer, and costs over $800.

  • @D0M1N8R1x The side of the ebook is a special screen that doesn't stress the eye as much as a normal screen, and is specially designed for reading.

  • wow thats useless

  • stop doing so many faces!

  • Jim, you look like a soap opera actor who has done too much coke.

  • stop comming out with more crappy e-books and make a flippin' standard.

  • big nintendo ds, but i like it

  • his head seems too big for his body...

  • haha his names LOUDERBACK how do u hav a loud back sigh thats funny

  • Both sides have anti reflective coatings and it weighs around 3 lbs.

  • I've seen it, it's smaller than a laptop and weighs a lot less too.

  • How heavy would you say it was? And how was the glare on the nonebook screen?

  • whats the point when its bigger than a laptop

  • @Kirkbro44 buzzkill believe the HYPE BELIEVE THE HYPE :}

  • i like it. I tried it out and it works great and it looks sooo much better in person. I reallllly want it!

  • Cool idea but too bulky and heavy.

  • @pengbertuuu i tried it. It isnt actually!

  • É o futuro; eu que nem si quer tinha um computador portátil vou ter que mudar o meu desejo ( de novo ).

  • The border around the device is too large and generally if you want to read you do not want a bulky device like this.

If you could detach the displays to decrease bulk and increase battery life then that may increase interest in the product.

Looks out of date, right out of the box.

Surely someone must be paying attention to ergonomics and aesthetics somewhere other than Apple ?

  • good first step but it does look too fugly and clunky.

  • its pretty ugly..thats where apple will shine...wonder how many thousands apple tablet will cost though??

  • Interesting.

  • What's the deal with the eBook screens? I know they have WAY less strain on your eyes, but how do they make the screen look like a real page like that? It's pretty cool.

  • Just preordered piano black one. Can't wai tto get this.

  • pretty sweet i like the rate technology is moving. 2020 is only 10 years away :D

  • They dont close it to show how small it is it weighs only 3 pounds.

  • How come they're giving all of these videos to this guy? What happened to Patrick and Veronica?

  • These products are the very reason Apple doesn't do CES.

it is the opposite of a "Turd in a Punch bowl."

Apple doesn't need to waste money @ a second rate Stereo TV show.

  • CES has been terrible this yr smh

    this looks horrid

  • i dont like this guy.

  • THAT IS BIG.. FAT..UGLY..Cool tho but..

i would never buy that fat Elephant in your hand. SO BIG..

Wait lol ?! 1:07 "Easy to carry Device"

THAT IS NOT EASY TO CARRY !

You wouldnt put that in you're pocket xD

  • The model they come with in 5 years will great but this one loosk clunky

  • What is the reason to do e-Ink in this kind of device ?

  • it's f*ing ugly

  • Also take a look at the Dual Screen MSI netbook@CES 2010. It could be the above, but even better.

  • disgustingly bad.

  • Why can't they make 10" netbook with a swivel screen?

  • looked like at cam at the top of the netbook side

  • Why can't they make it like a dual screen netbook? A netbook can have an app that can open pdf's, ebooks etc. right? It's lame that the 2nd screen is dedicated to ebook reader.

  • isnt it just easier to get a laptop ?

  • omg want one!!

  • I believe that we could have better implementation for dual screen e-book!

  • That seems kind of dumb... i bet it's the same price as buying them seperate... seems like a gimmick

  • A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

  • Ugly.. taping an ebook to a netbook would look better.. duck tape that shit togheter and it's more attractive

  • whats the point just get a laptop

  • Where have I seen this guy before? I think he reminds me of someone on the food network. This is really bugging me.

  • Wonder if you can turn off the 'netbook side' and just have the eBook running. if not, battery life would be an issue I'd think.

  • Yeah, that's a good question.

    -Damien

  • yes...

  • eh good idea, the second or third generation of this might be interesting, but still too early.

  • lol just get the lenovo itablet in the other ces revision 3 video ( wich is ten times better) and download kindle for pc thats what im doing im gunna get that lonovo the day it comes out

  • That's just a bigger Nintendo DSi.

    lol

  • Too big and ugly

  • meta but gay

  • Overkill

  • Holy shit I thought of a folding ebook when the Kindle first came out. and now its out. dammit i shouldve gone with my idea.

  • when is an ebook not an ebook? ^_^

  • Bet that kills the battery nice and quick

  • wow.
