@thefenglai The hard part are the bar chords, which are physically hard for a beginner, also, the strumming can be kinda complicated, but once you get it right, it's kinda easy. And yes, I'm a beginner (well sort of)

You can make the 'easy' version easier and sound a lot more like the other version by moving your capo up to the 4th fret, and playing the chords G, D, Em, C.

See how his hand tightens up when he says to "SQUEEZE"?

What you have to do is try to push your fingers through the fret board to your thumb, and at the same time press your thumb to your fingers. It's basically pinching the fret board harder than usual. All it does is it applies more pressure on the strings for a tighter sound.

a really easy version is capo on 4th: G major, D major, E minor, C major. 4 strums down on each and slap your hands on the string after each strum for a nice reggae touch

strum the bass string on its own , then a full strum down. on G

as ur coming back up , do an up strum then mute with ur strumming hand.

then the rest of the strumming is : up , down , up MUTE

up, down , up MUTE , up down up mute ,, and so on ...

if ur having trouble let me know , i'l do a quick video show u how to do it ...

Then again I've only played bar chords the last two days practising 2 diff songs for about 1 hr each day. Maybe I should do some basic chords to build up my strength.

First you go D U with the string slightly muted once...then go D U again...this time pressing the strings...then slightly mute the strings and go D U again...then end it with a pressed D....

So its like D U (MUTED) DU ( PRESSED) D U (MUTED) D (PRESSED) * 2 For every chord

Thats how you play the rythm...(goes for all chords)
