I bought an old 1963 vintage Ventures song book and it has Surf Rider adn some of their other big early hits in it, anyways just curious what your fingering it, the book didn't have tab. Very odd since it was for guitar

Chord progression of this tune is Am->F->E7->Am.

It is possible to play it in the chords form.

It is called "Arpeggio".

Theres my problem then, my version is in a different key. Mine has Bflat minor, Gflat, F, Bflat minor. Would the method still work with that progression though?

I think that the performance is difficult in BmFlat.

I recommend Change Key to the Am.

A performance becomes easy.

Ok will do. That book I have has some weird versions of their songs. Like the Bmflat Surf Rider and it has Walk Don't Run using the chords Bflatminor, Aflat, Gflat, F. So whats the full chord progression for this song then?

The chords of Walk Don't Run is Am->G->F->E.

I think I have the same vintage Ventures songbook that Zac360TURN is talking about. (I bought it well over 40 years ago). Everything in it appears to be written for wind instrument, not guitar, so WDR in this book is dead wrong. I never found it very useful, except getting The Ventures to autograph it for me!

(Also, most guitar tabs on-line provide The Lively Ones version of the bridge, not Nokie's version.)
