Don't you remember being that age and thinking you knew everything...It was always the parents fault but once they begin to grow they realize what they put us through they are always sorry and realize then what they did...But only after they have grown up. That may be the song title and subject he chose however...Kenny actually cheated on his wife of 16 years and wasn't a very good Father Role Model I saw a Bio on him and his life and it was shocking but it is also known as the lifestyles of the Rich & Famous and that's not the show I saw it on.It was the Biopgraphy Channel I love Kennys music & make positive comments until I came 2 this song & saw all the stuff being thrown around. He helped the world that's all that really counts.

Seems to me that this song is and video has a double meaning and that maybe ha has a lot of regrets

I grew up with a very poor family without my father, only my Mom and 7 more siblings. I remember one rainy, cold, afternoon (I was around 3 or 4 years old) we were on our way to the store and a song of Kenny Rogers came on on the radio. I wanted to have a father so bad that I wished to God that he would send me Kenny Rogers as my father so I could see what it felt like to have a father.
